Launchbox keeps creating unnecessary folders.

I am auditing a collection at the moment and when I've had enough I close launchbox.

I then perform a complete backup of the launchbox folder and subfolders onto another drive.

One thing I've noticed is that it keeps creating lots of empty folders for some reason.

For example I am auditing my BBC collection at the moment and nothing else. When I closed launchbox and told it to do a backup this is what I see.:



For some reason it suddenly wants to create >5000 folders. Not just for arcade in the screenshot but every single platform. I haven't even touched these, I only tested about 6 games in my BBC collection.

I've seen it do this on multiple occasions so any idea what is causing it?

What you are seeing is standard, and intended behavior of the LaunchBox application.

Seems too random to be 'standard' behavior. I created Arcade about three weeks ago so why would it suddenly decide to create 5000 empty folders three weeks later?

I've also seen it create empty folders one day and then delete them a few days later.

Doesn't sound right to me
