Hello everybody, I want to start by wishing all of you a festive month of October. Ahhhhh....I forgot what to write here. Umm, October is one of my favorite months, the whole family joins in on some good ol scares and such. Spooky movies, hay rides, you name it we do it. Really, this all started when I felt discouraged that I couldn't add more holiday stuff to one of my other themes. Since that one is solely focused on my game collection, it left little room to be truly frightful with the addon. So I thought, I'll just make another theme made just for Halloween. I got the idea from many other theme devs here that have made novelty themes of their own. I figured why not take a stab at a novelty BigBox Halloween theme myself this year, it started off harmless enough but snowballed into something else along the way. I planned to make a simple thing, but alas I cannot. Everything I touch turns into a huge thing, every time, never fails. This theme is no exception, it's a monster. It's packed with all kinds of creepy bits and bobs.
- 17 Custom edited movie clips with jump scares added! (by me so don't expect anything too spectacular haha, still cool tho)
- Bonus videos for those that can make it through the entire clip! (for some views)
- Bonus view with over 100+ old Halloween commercials, movie trailers, creepy tv intros, etc, that play randomly on a old beat up tv in the Crypt.
- Totally immersive Commercial room, has by the hour day/night cycle and other secrets.
- Hidden stuff all over. Sometimes watching a whole video deems a reward. It's a mystery.
- Totally immersive Halloween experience.
- Designed to give you a fright! a scare! a laugh! and a scream!
THIS THEME ONLY WORKS ON HALLOWEEN DAY!!!!! IF YOU WANT TO USE THIS THEME ON A DAY THAT ISN'T HALLOWEEN, REFER TO THE UNLOCK METHOD IN THE SPOILER BELOW.
THIS IS JUST A NOVELTY GAG THEME, YOU CAN SAFELY DELETE IT ONCE YOUR DONE WITH IT.
Do not worry, I didn't add anything too graphic. No people getting torn apart, ripped open, or anything with too much gore. There is cussing, blood, weird stuff, creep, spook, alot of funny humor, nothing that would be deemed highly inappropriate. I know your looking at that movie list and thinking, did he really post clips from silent hill pyramid head? I did, but I heavily modified alot of the clips they are not what your used to watching. I removed things, cut stuff out, all that stuff. Its safe, I promise. Scary, but safe.
That being said, it's not for the kiddies. I won't tell you what to let your kids watch, but you have been warned. I added parental advisory logos to anything with cussing, or sometimes because of zombie stuff or blood.
THIS THEME CONTAINS JUMP SCARES, AND ALL AROUND CREEPY THINGS. DO NOT USE THIS THEME IF YOU HAVE A HEART CONDITION, OR ANY OTHER HEALTH RELATED ISSUES THAT MAKE IT SO A JUMP SCARE MIGHT HURT YOU!!! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!

HOW DO I USE THIS:
Install it just like a normal BigBox theme. It's not designed to be functional, it's just a gag theme. Basically, you switch to a view and it plays a clip I edited. Afterwards there are sometimes more videos, funny stuff, etc. Its just a jump scare player with a fancy overlay.
If the theme doesn't boot directly into Platform View 1 when started, hit your view hotkey and switch to it. That's the main menu. It should boot to that by default, but it loads whatever view you quit on so it changes.
It also sometimes loads another theme if you have "remember separate view for each platform" enabled. When that happens just hit your theme hotkey and switch to this theme.
HOW DO I USE THIS THEME WHEN ITS NOT HALLOWEEN?

FIRST DO THIS:
- 1) Open BigBox and load this theme.
- 2) Change the view to Platform View 1
- 3) Exit BigBox. Then proceed.
NOW DO THIS:
With BigBox closed, rename this file:
A Halloween Fright\Media\_SETTINGS\YOU DIDNT SAY THE MAGIC WORD.PNG
TO
A Halloween Fright\Media\_SETTINGS\PLEASE.PNG
That's it. Now you can start BigBox and it will load the full theme, all unlocked, every single day of the year.

I fixed quite a few bugs this morning, and plan to finish up the thread today. I'll for sure add the unlock info in the thread spoilers today, you have my word. I never intended to make you wait very long, just a day or so 😋 Sometime today the proper info to unlock the theme will be added to the unlock section of the thread. I added a workaround for that bugged view, i just copied it to coverflow view and it works fine. Funny thing that, the theme really is cursed. Every other publish the theme decides to pick a random view, and just not open it. Seriously, thats the bug. I open ctc then delete that view paste it into another, it works fine. Then another random view wont load. Its madness.
Only thing that remains for me to do for the final build is add bonus stuff after watching each of the videos...I'll aim to do some for all of the views but I won't promise anything. I'm still on the wall about it...I'm going to tinker with it today, and go from there. The bonus stuff will be in the final build (if) I do them. Not sure of a time frame, in a week, or some days, who knows. Whenever that time may be, you can then experience all the views again with some extra content once it gets closer to Halloween.

You might still encounter a few bugs, if they bother you just comment the issue and I'll fix it if I got time. It's pretty polished though, and it's not super complex. It should work as intended.
