  1. Well I did finally get to pull a log with some usefull information from RetroArch that states unknown error 126 in it when loading Dolphin core. The old Dolphin core didn't report that problem. Googling that error code leads to Visual Studio related trouble so I installed Visual Studio 2017 fix or something refered from other forums and now Dolphin core is finally loading on my Intel NUC computer also. My main computer probably had that installation from playing Steam games or something that automatically got installed.
  2. Im still not having any luck with this issue. I tried also changing the resolution on the TV to see if that impacted loading the core but still nothing. What is strange is that Gamecube with Dolphin core WAS running on this Intel NUC PC before when I first discovered Retroarch. I remember testing just using RA on the NUC before I started my portable LaunchBox project. Then Dolphin did run perfect through RA with basic settings. Im lost on this one guys. It feel sad that Gamecube is the one platform that is not running as in my opinion one of the best consoles.
  3. Okay so I tried all video drivers d3d9 until d3d12 I think. RA starts with theese drivers but Dolphin core r3fuse to load. Vulkan and one other sl... Something make RA crash on my NUC machine.
  4. Hi and thanks for sticking with me on this issue After Vulkan failed on me I chickened out a bit and didn't know what to try next so I just rolled back to gl after that. Also asked myself what will happen to the other 14 systems that run fine with gl if I switch around. So d3d is the one to put my money on?
  5. Hi I do have the latest drivers on my system. I just find it strange that a video driver will keep a core from loading. But then again, I'm not super technical about the RA build up
  6. Anybody with some more ideas? It's pretty obvious something with the Intel NUC machine. Graphics card? Something else?
  7. Okay, managed to search through RA config file for "vulkan" and change it back to gl. RA is now opening again.
  8. Changed it to Vulkan, saved, exited and tried starting back up and now RA is not even starting at all... Help!
  9. Yes its using the Intel Iris Graphics 6100 driver for this Intel NUC box. Standard now in RetroArch is set to video driver: gl Which to choose? Not messing up the other 14 also
  10. DirectX can be ruled out. Same with .Net as Windows 10 has a newer version than the one required.
  11. Now... This is even stranger... I went to my main computer since the complete setup is still on that computer as well. Started RetroArch and try to load the Dolphin core. It loads perfect just as before. I then took my external disk and moved it from my Intel NUC Pc in the living room and plugged it back into my main computer. Launched RetroArch from external disk on main computer. BOM.. Dolphin core is loading! So for some stupid reason it seems it only has trouble loading on my Intel NUC PC. What on earth could make that hsppen. Both computers are running Windows 10.
  12. Thanks But I dont think thats the issue though.
  13. I already tried re-downloading the Dolphin core without any luck. All the other 14 cores of other systems are running perfect.
  14. I might add that I had trouble configure controllers on the Dolphin core before moving to external disk. So what I did before moving to ext disk was to try updating Dolphin core to see if it helped with the controllers (which it didnt). It did however download a different Dolphin core, which after a lot of experimenting I got to configure the controlls succesfully. So I kept the setup with two Dolphin cores installed. First core was named Dolphin 0.1 I think and the second active one has a name with Dolphin-emu and some numbers behind.
  15. Okay, update. I see when Im trying to load directly from RetroArch that Im actually not able to even load the Dolphin core in there. All other cores gets loaded. So I tried updating the core but it still refuse to load the Dolphin core inside RetroArch. Im pretty clueless on how to fix that to be honest.
  16. I can of course do a final check launching directly from RetroArch. Yes, my whole setup is based on being portable and was built that way from the start. RetroArch and all game files are in a structure under LaunchBox main folder on the external disk. Paths are checked and looking good in all setups. So for me that is super strange that 1 of 15 messes up like this.
  17. So I setup GameCube with the built in RetroArch Dolphin core together with 14 other platforms on my main computer. Now, from the start of this project of mine my thought has been to move the whole installation over to an external harddrive. I did the move and plug it into my living room Intel NUC computer and 14 of 15 platforms performs just like I expected and running perfect. However the GameCube which also worked perfect before the move to external drive doesnt work AFTER the move. I first noticed from BigBox and non of the Gamecube games are starting at all. So I went to my Windows desktop starting up LaunchBox and also fra LB non Gamecube games are starting. I check under "manage emulators" and Gamecube are pointing to the dolphin core like it should. I checked the game files are present in their standard location. I mean its and exact copy of the working edition on my main computer. So Im a bit shocked its not working really. Any ideas on this matter please?? I had SO much hassle with Gamecube spending hours and hours to crack config of controlls and thought now that everything was good. I feel gutted and cant see any solution...
  18. I haven't tried other cores yet. But playing Shock Troopers I see that the eight way control is actually working. But in Metal Slug only four way shooting. Is it possible that Metal Slug doesn't have eight way aiming when shooting?
  19. I have been testing mostly with Metal Slug and my Xbox One controller. It doesnt let me configure all eight angles of the left stick, just up, down, left and right. Sure I have enabled the left analog stick but it doesnt help. May I ask what controller and setup you are running?
  20. So I notice that NeoGeo has a "D-pad" that moves in eight directions and thought that would be easy to setup with my Xbox One controllers. Using the built in RetroArch core FB Alpha 2012 NeoGeo. That was more tricky than expected due to that there is no option in the Quick menu - controlls to setup the analog stick directions. It only allows me to setup the Xbox One D-pad and of course I can choose to enable the left analog stick also but still it only moves in four directions instead of eight. Missing out on shooting for example diagonally. Anybody with any tips and pointers on how to fix that issue would be amazing!
  21. So I found a working solution for the built in Dolphin-emu core. What I did: In the Dolphin.ini file like mentioned in the opening post I changed all SIDevice values to 6. I don't know if this is required or if you guys only have to do step 2 and beyond. Now it works for me like that so I'm leaving the ini file like it is. Open a GameCube game running the Dolphin core and enter Quick menu in RetroArch (RA). Head to controlls selection. My idea was to set remaping per core, so also for Dolphin for my GameCube games as I don't use Wii games. Configure device 1 or control number 1 like you want and make it perfect. I would recommend focusing on only one control at the start. Save core remap file when you are happy with control 1. Now, here is where I encountered problems before. I headed back into quick menu and then controls. Now, I am not able to configure control 2, 3 4 and 5 right? That was my issue in the opening post in this thread. I could however toggle the type of device for all of them, in example RetroPad. We will use device 2 as an exmaple here. I did notice that when I toggled device 2 control type that my device 1 key mappings were blanked out and device 2 keys became active. That was strange for me because I thought all of them should be editable and showing all the time on the screen. So... Step 4. Pay attention to what I said about setting up device or control 1 perfect first. Make a note of your settings for device 1 and in what order they come in. Toggle device 2 back and forth so you get the keys to go active for that device or control and leaving device 1 with blank keys (don't worry). Configure device 2 just as you did with device 1. Now do the same for device 3, toggle type of controll on device 3. Now both device 1 and 2 will be left blank. Set up device 3 just as you did device 1 and 2. When that is done do the same for device 4 toggling control type back and forth. Now you did all four controlls with the exact same setup. Device 1, 2 and 3 should have blank spaces and only device 4 should be "configured" on screen with the correct key mappings. Now go and save core remap. If you do follow these steps to the point reading carefully you will find when hooking up Xbox One controller 2, 3 and 4 that they actually have the correct key mappings now working with Dolphin built in emulator. Don't worry that RA doesn't show the mapping of all controlls. Trick seems to be to make the first control perfect like you want and then active one and one setting the same settings and at the end saving the core remap. Enjoy!
  22. Hi guys, Trying to setup my Dolphin emulator through RetroArch with more than one controller. It seems very difficult as RA does not let me configure more than one controller no matter what I do in the quick menu "per core" setup. Main problem is that Im only allowed to map for one controller input at a time. I can change device type on lets say device 2 and then it lets me change mappings for device 2. If I then go to device1 and change the device type it suddenly lets me change mapping on device1 but not on device2 anymore. The mapping itself is the same buttons when Im doing this but just moves over to another device. Is there any trick to making specific controller setup with more than one controller? I went into the Dolphin.ini file to change the SIDevice value to 6 for all four controllers I want to configure without that helping much. We tried also to configure device1. Then quit RA and find the remapped config file. Then to copy settings for device1 and duplicate it to device2, 3 and 4 without any luck. Only thing that then happened was the mappings moved in RA GUI from device1 to device4 leaving all other mappings blank like before.
