I've been using this theme for many years now and I absolutely love it, but as time has passed and I have added more and more systems with a 16:9 aspect ratio an issue has revealed itself. The theme will show the video at it's full height and simply chop off both sides. Is there anyone out there that could give me some idea how I might go about editing the WheelGamesView.xaml to show the entire video within the boundaries of the video window instead?

I have this one that I scanned a couple of months ago and I'd love some kind of clear logo, but the original is the entire front of the box! Maybe one of you can be creative and come up with something?

@JereBear both awesome. Thanks again for your efforts.

Awesome work as always I have a few more, but please let me know if you get tired of me posting them. Vain Dream is on the NEC PC-9801, NEC PC-8801 and Fujitsu FM-Towns all with the same logo Rusty is on both the NEC PC-9801 and MS-DOS with the same logo. It has a pre-existing upload, but it has removed the red slash underline that is part of the logo. Appareden: Fukuryuu no Shou is only on the NEC PC-9801

I have no idea how difficult it is to extract/recreate these logos, but these 3 look more complicated if someone wants to give them a go: Dies Irae is only on NEC PC-9801 Dead of the Brain has the same logo on NEC PC-9801, Fujitsu FM-Towns and Sharp x68000 Shangrlia 2 has the same logo on NEC PC-9801, Fujitsu FM-Towns and Sharp x68000 I also have this one (Blue Eyes - Windows 3.x), but the scan quality is a bit meh. It has a big solid box so I couldn't close the scanner and just had to block out as much light as possible. Hopefully it's still possible to make a decent logo.
-
Perhaps, but it is also much lower resolution, has really inconsistent edging, the colour is all wrong when compared to both the PC-8801 and PC-9801 box and it's had all of the white highlights removed from it. Seaview's rendition looks way more authentic.

Wow. I did not expect to wake up and find all 4 of them completed and with alternate versions too Thanks, these are all awesome!

Xak II is on MSX 2, NEC PC-8801, NEC PC-9801 and Sharp X68000 Tuned Heart is only on NEC PC-9801 The Legend of Heroes III: Shiroki Majo Renewal is only on NEC PC-9801 Star Cruiser II: The Odysseus Project is also on Fujitsu FM-Towns with a very similar logo Thanks as always for any help you can offer

Thanks for making this. It turned a 2 hour problem into a 5 min problem. -
I have a lot going on in my real life at the moment, so any new scans will have to be put on the back burner for now. Are you submitting the ones you make to the database, because I rescraped media and didn't see any of them. I have submitted them for you now, but you might want to think about submitting new ones to the database, because it would be a shame if they just get lost in this thread. I still have around 30 covers I either updated or scanned myself that are either missing logos or the preexisting ones are very small. I can put some of those up for now. If possible could the Japanese text be included because it is part of the title. Dragon Master Silk II Possessioner (This one actually has an OK logo, but it should be a very quick one to do and I would appreciate it if the blue box and Japanese text were included) Princess Maker Princess Maker II Ruriiro no Yuki (The small text at the top is the actual title of the game, so it needs included - why did they do it that way? Who knows :D) Thanks again to you and Jerebear for the effort

I've been trying to figure out which one looks most like the box, but to be honest it all depends on the amount of ambient light and whether you are looking at it straight on or from an oblique angle. I have no idea why so many PC-9801 games seemed to love these shiny, almost impossible to scan logos! I also just noticed that although I link from the game page, the forum changes the link, so you have no idea which games these are for if they're written only in Japanese, so I'll make sure I mention the game name in English from now on Thanks again!

Dead of the Brain is on PC-9801, MSX2, Fujitsu FM-Towns and Sharp x68000 all with the same logo I don't know if you want to fix this^ one, but the main logo is actually glittery metallic red This is https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/images/134811-necronomicon I can't upload the front cover due to nudity restrictions Thanks again.

I am just in the process of updating Metal Eye 2, so it's like you read my mind and made a logo in advance
-
Metal Eye is on the PC-9801, Fujitsu FM-Towns and Sharp x68000 all with the same logo. Ougon no Rashinban: Shouyou Maru San Francisco Kouro Satsujin Jiken is on the PC-9801, Fujitsu FM-Towns and Sharp x68000 all with the same logo. Thanks again for pretty-ing up the old Japanese computer platforms

Excellent as always. Thanks again. Much appreciated.

I see what you mean. The difference in detail is probably more down to the fact I don't have a particularly good scanner and I also haven't spent much time using it - you can see on my photo that the colours are similar (definitely slightly too saturated, but that other image is too washed out) - but that you can in fact see those details that are lost in my scan. If you have access to higher resolution scans, then please upload them, because I can then spend my time updating covers that have very poor/no images available instead. I have hundreds of games and would rather not risk the covers for marginal/no gain. A clear logo from either of them would make me happy because it's going to be shrunk down and used in a front end either way I'm starting to wonder if part of it is not a quality control issue, because the manual and the poster inside the box all have the same image and they're all completely different colours. The manual is closer to your image and the poster is somewhere in between. Here is what I mean... : I just noticed that your image is AI upscaled which might be helping it in some areas. Take a look at the TGL logo in the top right corner at it's full resolution - it's a bunch of squiggles that can't be read instead of saying Technical Group Laboratory. It's also made the top Kanji illegible on the CD announcement at the top left. I don't wish to derail this awesome thread anymore. I'm honestly happy with whatever I get. All of you guys deserve an award for making all these logos and expecting nothing in return. If anyone wants to discuss anything outside of the logos, then I am always happy to receive private messages.
-
Are you basing that on actually having access to the original box or on other images on the Internet? Because here is my box and the cover is way more saturated and yes the characters all look very suntanned/orangey, If anything it looks slightly less saturated on the photo because I can't be bothered talking the cover back out from under the plastic.

Thanks again for all of the work you're putting in. Much appreciated... fancy doing some more? I scanned a bunch of covers and uploaded them yesterday, so these could all use some of your magic.

I've been using the default startup/shutdown theme on Launchbox since they were added to the program, but recently I have noticed an issue with them. For any system that has animated spinning discs, the associated shutdown screen will not display when the game is exited. Instead the startup screen is still visible with the spinning disc as shown in the attached screen shot . Any system that is not animated works correctly and I can 'fix' the issue on the affected platforms by removing the spinning disc code from the associated xaml, but I'd really rather not have to do that. I don't know when this started, but I have Launchbox installed on 2 PCs (one is 13.8 one is the newest version) and it happens on both. Does this happen for everyone or is this something confined to my particular setup? If it is a 'me' issue, then can anyone suggest a way I might fix it while keeping the spinning discs?
-
I've got a boxed copy somewhere and to be honest neither of the images have the correct colours. Mine is too saturated, but yours is too washed out and kinda orange looking. It is unfortunate that the scans I had access to - which probably originally came from the Tokugawa forum or the associated NeoKobe pack - have been sun bleached on the edge. It's what motivated me to keep all my games in a windowless storage room
-
Some more high quality PC-9801 cover scans that could use a clear logo. If there's any chance of including the Japanese script below the Sword World PC logo that'd be good, but I'll take anything I can get
-
Awesome. I had actually clicked on 'Accept' to the database before the post appeared here
-
Excellent work I really appreciate the effort you've put into these. I uploaded a bunch of high quality front covers yesterday, which have now been accepted, so if you (or anyone else here) feels like showing old Japanese computers some much needed love... Fall is only on PC-9801 Beat Vice is only on PC-9801 Gandhara is on PC-9801, PC-8801, MSX2, Sharp X1 WerDragon is only on PC-8801

OK, so I've been going through the database and adding better cover scans (and finding some that don't need updated), but they could use some fancy clear logos to go along with them Alfaim is on both the x68000 and PC-9801 with identical logos. Aggregate is only on the PC-9801 Alvaleak Boukenki is only on PC-9801 Thanks again for your excellent work.
