  1. A couple of progress questions

After updating some games are already marked as active when they don't meet the 30 mins played criteria or have achievements.

Should 'not started' be lowest priority by default then when say you get an achievement active takes over because it's higher priority, or am i not getting how this works?Screenshot2025-06-08001458.thumb.png.a3ef247447c8f7df68416c2f2afa47c2.png

Beta 3 Win11 No games launch in Bigbox, the game startup window is opened but nothing else happens. Games launch fine from LB.

Solved this, it was the custom startup themes i'd made with CTC that have stopped working, default and Big Logo are working.

  3. All of the badges, platform icons, platform clear logos outside of media packs are now redundant, you have to add your single png to the folder inside media packs.

Thanks….but I’m not trying to install a media pack. It’s just a single png I downloaded myself.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys.

@Rlad What there anything in-particular you were doing in Big Box? The Theme you were using, the view you were using, the section you were on. Were you using a keyboard, mouse, or controller? All details about exactly what you were doing would help in tracking this down.

I just tested it again (default Theme), it's pressing left or right on any controller in the new platform hybrid view (platform category, platform, games list) that causes the crash.

  6. Get this error navigating Bigbox Win 11

    Recent Log:

       15:54:29 Exception

Also not getting any RetroAchievements info for Turbografx-16 and Sega Genesis after scanning (it's signed me into Retroarch and achievements pop ups are there). Not sure if this is a current Beta issue or was already present as i haven't signed into RA before on my test build.

I am trying to do the same with another fan game but i can't make it. As i understand i only have to change the .exe game file name on the second line. i don't know what to change on the forth line as the name inside the () symbols.

The game i am trying is the Castlevania 3 - Dracula's Curse 2020 and i am using Windows 11.

That should be the name of the window. Copy whatever it says on the bar at the top.

Videos are no longer playing for me in the latest beta? The video thumbnail appears in the game carousel, but the video doesn't auto-play as usual. If I press play then nothing happens. There is no sound either. Double-clicking maximises the video but it still doens't play - I just see a black screen.

Because they removed VLC and I remember from a previous thread that WMP doesn't work for you.

I could see this being a handy

I could see this being an interesting feature if there were massive organized sets to cover ALL clear logos (like the silver ring clear logo thread...).   Maybe that's the long term goal?   But with just platform clear logos, it just feels off.

I'm not clear on if I can I still manage my platform clear logos the old fashioned way?  (copying files directly into their appropriate folders?).  Or am I forced to use this use new feature?

When you upgrade to 13.21 it puts all of your current logos into the legacy pack and the individual ones become redundant, at least thats how i understand it. You can then manage them from there. Joe already said it-

    With v13.21-b1 installed, look in \LaunchBox\Images\Media Packs\Platform Clear Logos\

When you go into Tools > Manage > LaunchBox Themes & Media and select the Type: Platform Clear Logos, then select Legacy Conversion Logo Pack, it should say

This is saying if you end up using a different logo pack, you can uninstall this one.

Hope that helps [at least some].

This media pack was created when you upgraded from version 13.20 or earlier of LaunchBox to version 13.21 or newer. This pack contains the files you
were using before the media pack feature was implemented. If you no longer need this feel free to uninstall it.

  10. Added some games to already imported platform PSP on my test build and they auto-imported, added GBA games (not imported platform) and they were not recognized, rolled back to Beta 3 and the GBA games platform was created and roms imported as intended.

Beta 4 is out with the following changes:

    • Improvement: This update replaced LaunchBox's legacy XML-based local game database with a high-performance SQLite database. Expect a noticeably faster startup time, lower memory usage, and a solid foundation for even more performance gains in upcoming releases
