  1. Hi. Been spending the last 6 weeks or so setting up an emulation system. Now encountering an issue which is exclusive to Big Box. Trying to play PS1 games in particular the wipeout series. Spent ages trying to map negcon controls but eventually got that working. I am now experiencing massive slowdown, stuttering audio and video. This only happens when running Big Box. I can run the games through Retroarch with the Mednafen Beetle PSX HW core with 16X antialiasing and 8X internal resolution without any issues. I do not have any issues when launching the games through Launchbox either. They run at a fluid 60fps perfectly. Big Box is definitely causing problems. FMV intros are fine but as soon as the game has loaded before even playing, just sat on the menu the slowdown is horrendous. Why would Big Box cause this when the games run fine outside of it. I noticed the same issue playing Mushihimesama Black label through Mame 0.201 also. When things got busy (and things do on that bullet hell shooter) its slowed to a crawl. I have checked the CPU usage and RAM and both are fine (maybe a bit high on RAM at 80% with Retroarch Beetle PSX HW). It's an older PC but my specs run everything great except for when Big Box is running also. Intel Quad Core Q9400 overclocked to 3.45 Ghz 6gb ddr2 800mhz ram. Nvidia GTX 750ti
  2. OK. Got it working. Kind of. Bought a raphnet adapter. It maps the buttons and twist perfectly. Just trying to get the analog sensitivity right. But at least it's recognised. Tried with wipe out 3 and it's good. Further issues possibly not linked to this so will post elsewhere.
  3. OK so nothing again with this new adapter. Not surprised with this one as it was only cheap. However it did get further. I temporarily got retroarch to be controlled by the dpad although it stopped working for some reason and I can't get it back again. Game launches in negcon mode as expected so it is being detected. Still can't get the twist, dpad or left shoulder to work though. For some reason binding dpad and shoulder gives number 2 now instead of 5. Going to try a few more things. Last resort I have ordered a raphnet one. Expensive but hopefully worth it. Not sure why but both my adapters work in Windows and can be calibrated there and all functions work. Why not retroarch?
  4. Yeah. I am beginning to suspect that it's my adapter. It's a rockfire psx USB bridge. Had it for years and no problem with a ps2 controller. I was trying for hours yesterday with some limited success. Managed to stop the crashing by increasing dead zones and analog sensitivity but the mapping is all wrong. The button presses do not correspond to the correct number. The hat switch for the dpad only gives number 5 in all directions and so does the left shoulder. I've also tried espsxe with the included joypad configuration and it does not like it either. Configuring it requires holding a button then clicking the next one on menu. It still will not do the dpad at all. Lily pad will configure negcon to a dualshock setup but needs a lot of persuasion and still doesn't work in game. Padgnneco waste of time will not give me any correct configurable options for any of the buttons or twist. Found someone online that used another adapter and claims he got it working. Going to try one and see. I will report back.
  5. Has anyone successfully managed to get a negcon controller working in Retroarch?. If so could someone please help. Running beetle psx hw. Works fine with my xbox one pad. Trying to configure my negcon for driving games and it will not map correctly. Often it crashes retroarch during binding. The binding does not control in menu. I have been able to launch a game but this also crashes retroarch and cannot flip back to the menu. Need to open task manager and end task. Once got it to accept start game in game menu but it then crashed again.
