Nice! Worked great. My first pinball setup in LB/BB and this helped tremendously.
  1. Odd, works fine tonight and I didn't do a thing. Maybe just a reboot was all it needed.
  2. So I set updated lb/bb and I have the pause screen working in mame/arcade but it’s not working for games for nes/snes etc, what else needs enabled?
  3. Yes, this is correct. I finally figured it out Friday night after a week of frustrated evenings. My lack of understanding controller binds coupled with retroarchs fairly vague and frankly confusing lack of user intuitiveness (not that it's bad it's just not great), caused a major headache. i now understand that you initially set up your controller, in my case the Ultimarc ultimate, and set your buttons under the initial controller 1 and controller 2 (because I'm using a 2 player arcade cab) and you set that 1 time and 1 time only this is the global setting. Heres where i re I was running into the roadblock. I knew I had to rebind my controllers per emulator what I now know is that you do that by hitting f1, down arrow keying and click on controller. What I didn't know is that I couldn't press enter to bind those controls WTF? Couple that with buttons that are seemingly mislabeled and the fact the description underneath has N/A lead me to believe I couldn't use or allocate anything to them, after all I was pressing enter and nothing was happening. It wasn't until I accidentally hit over to the right on my arcade stick on my arcade cabinet and low and behold I was now able to enter a controller bind. Thanks retroarch that was nifty, lets not use the keyboard enter key to set user binds like we did the first time in configurations, and lets also not tell anyone else we're gonna change it up here....ugh. so now I'm rebinding my controllers per core, and of course retroarch adds to that confusion by auto configuring the retro pad instead of just letting me bind my controls the way I want them, I have to let retroarch dictate what I can and can't do. Why? For the love of god why? Now I get to figure out how to set up lightguns, trackball and spinner, I'm sure you'll be hearing from me again, I hate being a noob, but don't worry I'll pay it forward and help others after I figure it out. Thanks for the help guys I really appreciate it.
  4. Another thought, is it possible for retroarch to see my Ultimarc board as a joypad and using the autoconfig? Thinking out loud here, but it says at the bottom of my screen remap loaded, however it's only the last core I set up meaning if I set up nes last and go into genesis, it always loads the last config I made, not the remap. Sorry if I'm confusing anybody more than I'm confusing myself. It's like a stupid riddle.
  5. Yeah me neither, I'm grabbing at straws now. It's not a launchbox problem as it does it in retroarch outside of launchbox.
  6. Tried that now also, same result. I even tried setting it up and just saving a game remap configuration - no go. My only other thought would be that I have 2 hard drives. I load all my roms off of the second hard drive, my ssd holds all of my retroarch/launchbox and operating system. Any chance this has anything to do with it?
  7. A little more info, I'm using windows 10 on pc, Ultimarc ultimate keyboard/controller and I'm setting my controls under the "retro pad" setting.
  8. Well I turned save on exit off, saved current config, exited and renters to make sure it was set to off. Exited and went into my remap folder and deleted the old content. opend retroarch loaded the nes core, mapped my controller, then loaded content and inside of the game hit f1 and saved core override. exited retroarch re entered and confirmed nes controls worked. Then exited retroarch. I then went intro retroarch loaded the sega genesis core and repeated the procedure, exited and made sure my genesis controls worked, then I tried the nes and they were now set to genesis controls. Still doesn't work. I gotta get some sleep.
  9. I have save on exit on, man I'm gonna be pissed and happy if that fixes it.
  10. Fresh install of retroarch only 2 cores loaded, Nestopia and sega gsx. Exact same problem. Change 1 they both change. When I load a game it shows that config override loaded successfully, and I call bullshit.
  11. ? I’m pretty patient and very persistent. I usually don’t ask for help, until I’ve worked on it for a looooong time. Thanks for all the help by the way.
  12. I have RA stored in my LaunchBox/ emulators folder. If I can’t get it running tonight I might have to do a fresh install.
  13. So how many retroarch emulators are you using bigbox for? You have an iPac and your able to assign your buttons on a per core basis? I'm at a loss getting this to work, any chance you can give it a try again and give a little more detailed how to? I've done what you suggested but it's not worked, there must be something I'm missing. It'd sure help me out having someone else with a similar system.
  14. Well. Another 4 hours of trying, nothing works I've tried it multiple ways, it's setting the controls globally. The config override isn't working. Why won't retroarch allow me to set my buttons, frustrating.
  15. Well so far no change in behavior, whatever I do in the nes core changes the genesis core, or if I configure the genesis core it changes the nes core. I tried changing the nes in retroarch, then exit/save. I then went into bigbox and while in game I hit f1 and in the quick menu I was able to save the core override. i thought well cool, it saved the core override. So next I went into retroarch and bound my controls for the genesis exited/saved on exit. Went into bigbox, loaded a game, pressed f1 and saved the core override. so I went back to the nes and same as before now all my controls are bound to my button mappings for the genesis. Ive read a ton of tutorials, spent more hours on this then I care to admit, and I'm still stuck. What can I possibly be missing?
  16. Maybe I am having a real problem then. When I try to save core override I get a “saving overrides error”
  17. Here's my issue. I have launchbox / bigbox and I like using retroarch for most of my emulators. The problem I have is I want to assign my buttons separately for each system, nes / snes / genesis / mame etc.etc. I am using bigbox pc in an upright arcade cabinet, I am using arcade controls and buttons Ultimarc I-PAC ultimate and happ buttons. So bigbox and retroarch sees my controls as keyboard inputs, if I bind controls for sega genesis, it binds them globally meaning the same key inputs are now mapped to the nes emulator. I want separate config files for each emulator but I can't figure out how to make this happen, can anyone help?
  18. That's the info I needed, I did find a tutorial on how to add a line to the config file and I now have my tankstick trackball working on my retropie. So far I have it working with golden tee, but not centipede, looks like more to learn
  19. I have it working now, after downloading the .78 set and dropping the zipped files in my arcade folder, they work as they should. My problem was the romset I downloaded, I got it off of a link somewhere that said it was a all killer no filler romset for mame that didn't have all of the crap in it. I assumed it was was an edited version of mame, but it was my problem all along. Thank you for the help, I was pulling my hair out.
  20. Yes, my application paths are similar, just pointing to retroarch instead, 've also tried a mame emulator with no luck. In bigbox I have all the art and snaps and audio, but none of them run.
  21. Im giving it another shot from scratch, Im downloading the .78 mame set (Im assuming this is best if I want to use trackballs and light guns?). and will give it another go. A four hour download ugh. Im definently interested in using a trackball and the mayflash dolphin bar and wii guns, however ive been unsucsessful getting them to work on my retropie using the community gold front end, or my pc launchbox that im starting. Any advice on which mame set I should use? Im assuming mame .78
  22. Absolutely none of this is easy! A simple tutorial with links and a short video is needed. I've been at this for days with no progress. I'm about ready to give up. ive downloaded the all killer no filler, but cannot get anything to launch in launchbox. I've tried all the emulator cores in retro arch..nothing happens.
