  1. Well my momma always said "life was like".... no wait wrong one... Ah yes, that was it... "you learn something new every day" ? Anyone else know of any good sticks?
  2. Hmm, interesting ? It seems I stand corrected (although techincally I sit corrected, as I am currently sitting, but meh..., semantics ?) What do you think of this review? I cant tell from his conlsusion which would be better suited for launchbox?: https://nerdtechy.com/best-portable-solid-state-flash-drives
  3. Yeah, no flash drives use flash memory as oppose to solid state memory. Very different in speeds apparently, according to the interweb. I also just read that the USB 3.0, does bottle neck the speed a tad, but not by much, and apparently speeds are still better than the usual flash drive and certainly a HDD. Edit: Also no, I do mean specifiacally a thumb drive (for size/portablilty purposes), not a enclosed SSD.

    USB SSD Stick

Hey guys, So I have a question, first off I have a completely poratble set up of LaunchBox and BigBox on my portable HDD, for emulators and roms. I however would like to purchase a USB Stick to put it all on, for portablility, and was wondering what others may use? if you use this sort of set up? I am looking for the best option really, I have heard of SSD USB 3.0 Sticks recently and am hoping some people here may have tried this out to see how well it runs? Thanks anyway guys in advance ?
  5. Ah okay, no worries then. I mean its just a little nuisance, but nothing serious. The software even with this is absaloutly brilliant. Best software I have used in a long time, and by far beats other front ends I have used. Thanks for all you've done for the community so far, and to many more years to come. ?
  6. To be honest, I can still tell there is stuttering visually, even with everything else turned off (transitions, startup sound and startup video). So maybe its just the CPU is hit with too much all at once? Although I aint a programmer, so I dont know too much haha ? No worries ?
  7. Would using a much less CPU heavy software, seperatley for the sound file work do you think? Instead of having multiple VLC in use? Edit: Maybe a mixture of that and what you just suggested?
  8. Yeah, I get it. It's probably quite hard finding the balance. I guess it would be better to do encouraging things and devotionals like this, as opposed to in your face sermons. I guess there is a time and place for each, but an online forum where you run a business too, is maybe not the beast for challenging sermons.. ?
  9. Oh rite, I guess that makes sense... that was pointless then haha ?
  10. So after playing with the settings, I have managed to find settings that work and make most of this a perfect experience, with the exception for ePSXe and Dolphin (of which I will try find a work around later) and No$Gba which i feel is probably a seperate issue for some reason? Any ideas? Hopefully these will help some people and maybe can be made into autosettings in future updates. Here are my findings: Project64: You must turn on 'Aggressive Startup Window Hiding' to get rid of flash and delay it to 4.5 seconds. Snes9x: Delay it to 1.5 seconds to avoid rom laoding with startup screen still there. PPSSPP: Delay it to 1.5 seconds to avoid rom laoding with startup screen still there. Mesen: Delay it to 2 seconds to avoid rom laoding with startup screen still there. Retroarch: Delay it to 1 second to avoid rom laoding with startup screen still there.
  11. It is 2.0.5, it might be my plugin though? it is the ePSXe GPU Core 2.0.0? I downloaded a bunch of plugins before so I may have an older plugin or somthing? nevermind anyway, Ill maybe have a look into different resolutions to find a work around. Hopefully there will be one. Do you happen to know a good resolution that works on all modern widscreen systems?
  12. Which resolution do you use out of interest? I have tried using some higher resolutions in the past, but have had issues when loading on different computers with different screen sizes. i wonder if there is then an option where it solves both issues for me? Also are you saying I have outdated software? I didnt know, where did you get an updated version of ePSXe? I can see the dolphin one is outdated though haha
  13. You know I did consider this, I also tried using the inbuilt windows media player, but it did the same thing. I did also try turning one off and then the other way around and it still does it visually and with the sound (where applicable of course)
  14. Jesus saved me from addiction to drugs and alcohol, Hallelujah ?

  15. I kinda like it to be honest, would be cool if there was a fix...
  16. Here are my settings. The reason I have these settings is to aim to make these settings as portable as possible. Also in regards to the timing thing, I had no idea, thanks ill take a look ?
  17. Just tried all that now and still no joy. I do wonder what it is? I thought maybe it was my portable HDD latency, but even copied my entire launchbox system onto my C drive and still the same thing. It even did this on my friends PC which is pretty capable. Are you on the latest launchbox out of interest? 9.9? maybe its a bug??
  18. Here is my complete set up review of the startup screen and pause screen. It seems to be working on most, but there are a few issues currently. Love the idea though and would love to see this perfected =D Startup Screens: ePSXe: shows, but becasue of the rescaling of the screen in the emulator, it also rescales the startup screen? Also a brief flash of appears on exite before end screen. Mesen: seems to work perfectly, but game has already loaded slightly into startup video of the game, before startupscreen disappears. PPSSPP: seems to work perfectly, but game has already loaded slightly into startup video of the game, before startupscreen disappears. No$GBA: works perfectly Dolphin: shows but becasue of the rescaling of the screen in the emulator, it also rescales the startup screen? Project64: seems to work almost perfectly, but game has already loaded slightly into startup video of the game, before startupscreen disappears. Only issue is the screen breifly flashes (presumably when the emulator loads in the background), the game noise starts and then the startup screen disapeears. Snes9x: seems to work perfectly, but game has already loaded slightly into startup video of the game, before startupscreen disappears. PCSX2: works perfectly Retroarch: Seems to work perfectly on genesis-plus-core, but loads into the game startup video on the mednafen-saturn core, before the startup screen disapears Demul: works perfectly Pause Screens: ePSXe: works perfectly Mesen: works perfectly PPSSPP: works perfectly No$GBA: doesn't show at all Dolphin: again, it shows, but the rescaling of the emulator messes up the scaling of the pause screen. Project64: works perfectly Snes9x: works perfectly PCSX2: works perfectly Retroarch: works perfectly Demul: works perfectly
  19. Ex-addict myself to certain things, but still struggle with others things to this day. God is great and merciful, neverending in love and faithfulness to the broken. You should do more of these man, or somehow use this platform a little more? not sure how though? I am just pleased to see such a brilliant bit of software being led by a guy who is Christian and openly one.

Amen man, Love this software and Love how it is God leading it. I can really see God's blessing on this business.
  21. I love these... Shame they didn't seem very popular
  22. Here is what it often does, for this though it took a little longer than usual in between the startup video and then loading the application. Again though once loaded, I literally have no problems with it at all. Just this, which I find a little annoying haha =D Edit: Also I have tried doing what you reccomended and still the same happens. i also tried a number of other things like turning off the startup video, with and without startup sound, changing the video with and without sound, changing theme with all these variations and it seems to do the same thing right at the beginning. Without the video though, it doesnt flashup the startbar, but it still stutters, and without the sound it isnt really as noticable, but it is still doing it?
  23. So I tried disabling it, but it still stutters. I also tried it on a different system and the same thing happens. I am using a portable set up of Big Box
