I have rescanned my set with arcade64.exe (on ClrMamePro): so far it removed about 20.000 out of 30.000+ roms, which supposedly means it cleaned up all the non-arcade stuff. Now I have started a Full Mame set Import based on arcade64.exe instead of mame.exe. When it's finished, I'll see what happens launching the Scan Removed roms.

    EDIT

Well, better than before, only 3985 roms imported, but still a lot of non arcade stuff. I honestly don't understand why things like "Amiga 2000 Keyboard" are indexed inside Arcade64. I haven't found the "System / Device" section in LB, I'll try to manually clean what I can. I have applied Scan Removed Roms, but those roms are actually present in the arcade64 set, I have to delete them from HDD.

Hey, I've been messing around for that quite a time too now (seeing that some of those "unplayable games" are even easy to play with other emulators, I had done some subfolders with them and .symblinks). But I've to say that I'm pretty tired and it made my updates a little more difficult so I'm gonna start from scratch once again.

Did you find any better solution? Or could I help you with it? Hope you are doing well.

By the way, a lot of those unplayable games don't have media, so what I did once was just to remove all the games that had 0 media, the issue is that even some of those files have Mame screenshots when it's said that they don't work.

Nice. I wonder if there is a way to not have the windows logo Pop Up is Windows is launching. Because if you can get by that, it would literally seem like it's an actual arcade system.

You could maybe replace the bios stock image, that's what I did.

  3. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

For all the people who will have the same issue, what made the difference has been to totally wipe my nvidia settings via 472.12-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql.exe (latest version at the moment).

I presume that I wasn't wrong when I thought that the problem came from DirectX, but Launchbox wasn't able to reinstall it properly by itself and even DDU didn't totally wiped those.

If you remove the DemulImporter plugin folder from your build does LB open? I think you mentioned removing, but just confirming.

I have never used that plugin so just downloaded it and placed it in the plugins folder and LB works fine

Hey, thanks for your answer. The issue came for the first time after adding it to plugin folder. But even after removing it and a total wipe (of my cores/plugins/...) nothing changed.

What is reaaally weird, is that even downloading Launchbox on a second HDD didn't solved the issue. Which may mean that it's a bigger problem (DirectX corruption, .net errors,... the thing is that I've been deleting and reinstalling everything since yesterday, and there seems to be no way for me to make launchbox work again.

Did you saw my second answer, where I talk about a Reddit post? It really does look like my issue, but I don't use any of the two mentionned programs. I thought that it might come from my Nvidia Control Panel but they don't seem to disturb my Launchbox.exe...

I just wiped all my drivers, all the things "connected" to DirectX, Visual C++,... then reinstalled everything again. (Half of my games will probably not work like this ^^) but... it didn't changed a thing. :(

  5. Just tried with safe boot, debogging, deleting some drivers (mostly GPU related)... Still no luck.

My issue seems to be related to this one, but I don't use any of those two programs (there isn't almost anything else than games on my cab). I thought that maybe Process Explorer might help me know to find something but it doesn't look like. Eventho, it looks like there could be something causing the issue and making Werfault to show up...

  6. Hey folks! I've been using Launchbox for a while now and wanted to make "cleaner" folders for my games.

After downloading the Demulimporter plugin (even if I use Flycast), and copying in my Plugins folder, everything crashed.

I then deleted the added files, recreated,...

My Launchbox flashes for a second then disappears, and even after copying old backups (that worked), it doesn't solve the issue. So... I presume it doesn't come from my Data folder.

I also tried reinstalling over my launchbox folder (11.17 and even rolling back to 11.12), but it didn't helped.

    Any advice? Thanks in advance!

PS1: I've tried to create a "clean install" on my second drive, and it doesn't work neither. Really weird issue, doesn't seem to be firewall related...)

PS2: I'm gonna try to rollback to and older version, trying to repair Direct X, C++,... Wait&see.

PS3: Removed all my "elevations", started with a brand new Core folder, repaired DX, C++... but didn't worked.

    PS4: sfc /scannow didn't helped neither... dotnet-sdk-3.1.413 64 and dotnet-sdk-3.1.19 neither...

PS5: Well, let's go to bed for today... I hope to find a solution very soon because I will not be able to use my 8TB arcade anymore if I don't solve it... :(

  7. Problem came back after trying to use Vulkan again. I wiped all my retroarch folder, wiped my amd drivers, but nothing works. Game just runs fine when using GL... and crashes when using Vulkan.

Quite weird because my /vulkaninfo looks good.

And even my retroarch settings seem to work normally :

There is no Marquee Image Priority like there is for select other images. It has been asked for so hopefully at some point we can get this. LB default is to show the image locate in the Arcade - Marquee folder. In the absence of an image there is reverts to your Box - Front image priorities.

In order to have the marquee show other images you would need to be able to code a PlatformMarqueeView.xaml and GameMarqueeView.xaml to show what images/data you like.

Thank you for your answer! Wow, in fact, I prefeer to hear that because it means that I'm not just blind. I'll then create a junction to the "wallpaper" folder waiting for something better. Once again, thanks for your time. :)

  9. Hey folks! Excuse me to bother you with such a noobie question. I presume it will have a really fast answer, but I haven't been able to find it by myself.

I use another 16/9 screen on top of my cade (1920x1080) to a marquee, but I haven't been able to set it up correctly. It usually shows game boxes (vertical) that don't fill the whole screen. Is there a way to make him choose in priority things like wallpapers or things like that? It would look better but I can't find the "marquee" option in Launchbox.

Oh by the way, I thought that it also could be a really good way to show combos/game manuals/etc, heard about any project which could help me in my creations?

Thanks in advance for your time and answers. Have a nice day!

You only need to replace your existing bin/lst files with the roms from your MAME set, not the whole set, just in case that's what you were thinking.

Well, thanks, I just reimported a whole arcade set in my Launchbox which is now making duplicate entries (KoFXI in arcade + KoFXI in "Sega Atomiswave" folder)...

By the way, I tried to run my zip manually with Flycast and then Reicast, but nothing changed... Keeps crashing.

When I run it through MAME directly, it works, but with a lot of issues which is normal. Why doesn't it happen when I run it through Retroarch + Flycast?. Now that I tried to do it in a cleaner way, Retroarch opens well, but gets stucked and unresponsive before loading the game (using bin+lst), when I try to do the same with the mame zips, they just don't work.

(NB: Know any fast way to sort those games or should I do it one by one? Sorry for being so dumb. I had made a lot of things in my Hyperspin times, but I haven't got so much time to entertain anymore. ^^)

  11. Hey folks!

I have been running my Launchbox/Bigbox with Retroarch and internal cores with no issues for months, but after upgrading my GPU, problems came.

    I upgraded from a GTX 1060 to R6800.

Didn't changed any setting, but all those games are now broken, no way to make them work with Flycast/Reicast.

I also get the next messages

"Failed to load content" "Please upgrade to MAME romsets or expect issues"

    Any advice? Many thanks!

SOLVED: Issue was that my Bios were downloaded but in a wrong place. Don't know why they worked well before or how they managed to move, but now it's running well!

  12. Hi folks,

I've been messing around with Launchbox for some time now, but I'm still having an issue with some Teknoparrot games, and the worse is Initial D Zero.

To run the game properly, Teknoparrot opens a "cmd", and the problem is that, even adding a line to close the process like I did for other emulators like CEMU, it doesn't work.

    Quote

    $Esc::
    {
        Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}}

    image.thumb.png.91c61907f6918ab0405621bcf8dc4f03.png

Here, you can see how my game stays after closing Teknoparrot. I'm at the moment using my mouse and keyboard, so it isn't an issue, but when I unplug those things and play the game in Bigbox... I'd like to avoid to take my keyboard and mouse.

Thanks in advance for your answers!

NB: Btw, maybe a workaround would be to just "accept the error message" adding an enter line in the code... but then, the cmd stays in the background... isn't there any cleaner way to do it?
