  1. Is there any media available for the French Thomson TO and MO (and PC128) series of computers available? I see there is a Retroarch core for the TO8/8D, but can't find the system listed when importing.
  2. I found a guide here: But it is not working for me using that method, so I have made a reply to that thread.
  3. I have just tried this and have two problems, the first one being the big problem as this is not working for me: 1. I imported software list roms from MAME. When I load a game, the Retroarch screen shows a blank screen for about 5 seconds and then closes without the game loading. I have attached an image of the config, where all software list ROMS are in the default location: E:\MAME\roms\systemname - I tried this for A5200 and SCV (super cassette vision) and both had the same problem. 2. When importing Software List game ROMS, not all images are downloading for the games. If I use a No Intro or other set, it downloads the game images, but they will not work in MAME being in the wrong format. I am also guessing renaming the MAME software list game ROMS will screw things up (and Software List updates), so is there a way around this so when importing MAME software List ROMS it downloads the game images for them?
  4. What set are you using? It looks like it might be TOSEC. The best set I have found for the CPC (and most other 8 bit computers) is the Gamebase Amstrad CPC set (There are actually a few gamebase sets made for the CPC by different people), where the games have also been nicely named and tagged UK for the UK releases, S for Spanish releases, F for French releases and G for German releases, meaning I dont have to wade through loads of games that are in foreign languages which is nice. A few things I have found: There seems to be a maximum folder and file length, so with your folder name and file name it might be too long. Its also possible the emulator has filename length restrictions, as when I encountered with this with Launchbox it would not import the file. Sometimes unzipping files and then rezipping them as ZIP files will work. I use WinRAR. Same for .7z files - Just extract them and then rezip them as Zip files. Again I use WinRAR. The CPC collection is not very large. The gamebase set of 5,563 files I am using is just 670MB extracted (compared to 190MB zipped), so unless you are really tight on HDD space, the set can be extracted from ZIP and imported.
  5. I am trying to get the Super Cassette Vision to work with Retroarch Apparently the system is supported by MAME so I have selected mame_libretro as the core next to Epoch Super Cassette Vision. I have also tried Mame as a emulator directly. I have tried using the No Intro set extracted and the MAME Software List set which I left zipped (although most images did not import in Launchbox with this set, because of the naming of the ZIP files used by MAME). To load these in Mame you select the system, and then it displays the list of games for that system where you choose the one you want. Does anyone know if it is possible to run Mame software list games and systems in Launchbox?
  6. Ignore that last post, as its still not working for all systems whether that box is ticked or not. It works fine everytime the default category is used in What platform are you importing games for? but becomes totally unreliable if using a custom category name there when importing, sometimes downloading the correct box images and screenshots and sometimes downloading the wrong ones. I am still guessing this is a bug in launchbox doing this, but have spent too much time testing getting nowhere so I will now wait until a solution is posted or I am asked to test anything specific to help solve this.
  7. More testing and I think I have figured it out. It is the "Show default platforms" checkbox in the wizard being ticked that is causing the problem. By default the "Show default platforms" is ticked. Even if it was unticked the last time you used the wizard, and even if you enter a existing or new custom category name this option remains ticked. If you untick this, it then loads the correct box images and screenshots. It is not made clear that if you enter a custom category in "What platform are you importing games for?" you have to untick this box next to "Show default platforms" beneath it, otherwise it will not import box images and screenshots (and possibly other media if selected) correctly. Would explain why some categories that I have kept as the default names have all worked fine. I guess I must have unticked this the second time I imported the Sega Master System Europe ROMs. As for the Atari 2600 Rom Hunter Pack, there is also a Harmony Cart folder in the pack with different ROM file name that do not contain the ~ in the filename which all appear to be working correctly downloading all the box images and screenshots. There is less files, but it is still a complete collection so I will use those moving forward. Thanks for the MAME image info. I will reimport the images for MAME later as that takes a while to import.
  8. I have been doing some more testing on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System EUROPE set and think it might be a possible bug in Launchbox. What I have been doing during the import ROM Files sequence is: What platform are you importing games for? Super Nintendo Entertainment System EUROPE Show default platforms (ticked) Scrape As: Super Nintendo Entertainment System When I do this it imports incorrect box image files and screenshots. As a test I deleted Super Nintendo Entertainment System EUROPE inside launchbox and the images folder and tried to import just as: What platform are you importing games for? Super Nintendo Entertainment System When I tried this it worked! All the correct European Box Images and screenshots imported. Its not a solution though as I would like this category to be called "Super Nintendo Entertainment System EUROPE" and not "Super Nintendo Entertainment System". It seems to be a possible bug in launchbox that if you create a custom category in What platform are you importing games for? even if you then choose the correct system in Scrape As:, it is not scraping the correct box images and screenshots like it should be.
  9. There is something odd going on, but I have not worked out what. I am not doing or selecting anything differently. I just deleted all the Sega Master System EUROPE games from Launchbox, the Sega Master System EUROPE folder from Images in Launchbox and imported them again, making no changes to the way I imported them. As you can see from the attached image they have now imported with correct boxes and screenshots. I did nothing differently to the way I imported them and I am stumped as to why they imported correctly this time. Another folder which had image issues on import is Super Nintendo Entertainment System EUROPE. I just done the same as above and deleted them from Launchbox and the images from the folder and have reimported them, but they are still showing incorrect boxes and screenshots. I have attached images of the incorrect Super Nintendo Entertainment System EUROPE images showing in launchbox, the No Intro ROMS folder, and also a screenshot of Super Nintendo Entertainment System USA I imported (Using No intro USA ROMS) and shows all the boxes for the USA ROMS are showing correctly. Just not the Europe ones I am importing separately. I have also attached an image showing the Atari 2600 Rom Hunter pack ROM names, but I am guessing still this is due to the fact the ROMs have the ~ added to the filenames in this pack.
  10. I am using the wizard to import ROMS. I noticed I am having issues on several imports with the box images, but think they might be different issues. I have attached screenshots. Firstly with Mame (latest full set without CHDs), I am hardly seeing any box images. The arcade image directory is only 213MB with 3,447 Files. I expect most of these are screenshots which seem to be OK. I am choosing Box -Front Box-Back and Screenshot - Gameplay Second is Atari 2600 where I am using Rom Hunter's V16 set (which is the most complete Atari 2600 set I have found) from AtariAge. I think the issue might be is a lot of the ROMS have a ~ in the filename for some reason, and all the box images that seem to be failing are the ones which have a ~ in the filename. Thirdly is the Sega Master System using No Intro EUROPE Roms only, where I am getting a lot of incorrect box images for wrong systems. As shown in the screenshot I am getting images for C64, Game gear, Xbox Arcade, rather than the classic Sega Master System European boxes. When importing using the wizard I am giving the folder the name Sega Master System EUROPE and importing to scrape as Sega Master System in the list, just choosing Box The last image shown is the Epoch Super Cassette Vision which shows a system that has worked correctly showing all the correct box images. There are just a couple of images missing for this system, which I am guessing is due to the place the images are scraped from not having images of the boxes rather than a import issue. I have the original boxes for these missing titles. Is there somewhere I can submit these box images to be added to the place it scrapes the images from, so these all show for myself and others using this system in the future?
  11. Thank you for explaining. When you say it has no idea of the platform, I am choosing the platform in Scrape As: and thought it might be able to get the platform from that.
  12. Thank you. This has worked. I had capture method set to automatic, which I guess defaults it to BitBlt.
  13. Thank you. I was presuming the Wizard would do any configuration like that as it had all the information it needed when entering the details to be able to do that, but after following your helpful instructions and doing that bit manually this is now working.
  14. I am trying to capture Launchbox with Streamlabs OBS. I have tried addind Launchbox as a Window Capture in Streamlabs OBS but nothing is displayed. Is there a way around this or any other way to capture the Launchbox display in Streamlabs OBS without doing a full display capture?
  15. To confirm in Lauchbox edit emulator and in the Associated Platforms tab I have all the cores ticked as default emulator. Inside Launchbox I am importing my systems ROMS into separate categories because for some systems there are so many. For example: Atari 2600 PAL Atari 2600 NTSC Atari 2600 Homebrew I am using Retroarch as the emulator. However when I double click on the games in these folders, they do not load. However if I import them inside Launchbox to a category called just "Atari 2600" they load fine from Lauchbox. I am guessing that Retroarch uses the category names inside Launchbox to determine what core to load. Is there any way around this to make other categories work, so games in these other categories load with Retroarch? So far, I am also having problems with the Nintendo Famicom Disk System category and Retroarch too. I have imported the games into the default launchbox category of "Nintendo Famicom Disk System" and when I click on them they do not load. The core I am using is Nettopia and I have put the disksys.rom file in the RetroArch\system folder where the games load and run if I manually load them inside Retroarch. Again I am guessing this is a similar problem as above where Retroarch is trying to use the category name, but it is not associating with any core. I am guessing I can add something in Default-Command-Line Parameters in the Edit Emulator section in Launchbox, but I am not sure what I need to add. I was hoping that Launchbox would do the configuration automatically, but am guessing that extra config is needed when not using the default category names in Launchbox, and also for some of the default category names to work like for the Nintendo Famicom Disk System. I am also guessing I would have to create a emulator config file in launchbox Manage Emulators for each core used. If a command line is needed, I have also seen several posts describe the command line for retroarch as: retroarch -L “C:\Path\To\core.dll” -c “C:\Path\To\Config.cfg” “C:\Path\To\Game.rom” but I do not have any files in my retroarch folder called config.cfg so I am not sure if this was something that was part of older versions of retroarch and is no longer required.
