  1. I am not sure if this has been answered, so here it goes. Enabling HSLS through Mame and running a game directly from Mame I get the CRT effect, and I m happy. Running the same game through Lunchbox, the speed of the game goes 50%, (F11) lagging video and sound. Any thoughts?
  2. Thank you drybonz. I figured it out eventually exactly what you said. The issue is that I unzip the games and some of them need mounting and add into LB, so they run through dosbox natively. To run from RetroArch then I need to zip and add as Rom/MS-DOS/RetroArch. But my issue is that many games do not run as zip...it cannot find an executable which doesn't make sense. Thanks
  3. So i am burning the midnight oil to understand how this works. Launchbox opens Ms Dos games just fine no problem. When I run them I see a small window for DosBox and the game starts. I have configured Launchbox to open these with Retroarch which I have downloaded the DoxBoxPure Core! So far so good. Now, from retroarch I can open the Quick menu if I want to make any changes for the game (Video/Shaders/Input etc) but from LaunchBox I cannot do the same, so my question is this. How can I make changes for any game through Launchbox? Ex - I have Command and Conquer which I would love to change a bit the resolution display, but through Launchbox I cannot really edit anything. Now If I open Retroarch and do the changes there and then exit the game and run it from Launchbox, the changes doesn't really reflect there. Any ideas?
  4. Can I open Quick menu of Retroarch through Launchbox (when I run a dos game)? I tried everything but nothing. I run the same game from Retroch Arch and all video configs and Quick menu works. I run the same game from Launchbox but the video configs and Quick menu doesn't work.
  5. Home come when I edit things in retroarch, ex - resolution, and run Doom from retroarch it applys the config, but when I run the same game from Launchbox it doesn't seem to apply the settings. (I run retroarch from within the Launchbox installation folder "Emulators" to make changes). Also, within game the "Home" button doesn't work from launchbox but it works from Retroarch if I want to change the game settings. Any ideas?
  6. so the CRT EMu Driver is needed then ? Will this run with Launchbox also?
  7. Hey there, As I am going through Launchbox and seting it up it seems there is something off playing on the LCD screen of my PC so I start looking on how if possible, connect the PC to a CRT PC or TV screen. I have checked all over the internet and everyone was talking about CRT EMU drivers (which work with Mame) but I was wondering if I am going about it right. Does a simple HDMI to AV "composite" converter will do the trick If I want to connect PC to CRT TV or do I need to be looking for old graphics card and connect a PC to a CRT PC screen for better results? I don't wanna go crazy about it and build a new PC (with old specs) just for this so I was wonder if anyone has any idea? Tek Syndicate on youtube has a CRT along with his new PC (which I am not sure how he connected that) thanks
  8. Got it, yeah I figured I installed it twice. Don't know why but I am trying things out to build an arcade game machine. Thanks again for all the help.
  9. I had to make the HotKey to Null by opening the .cfg file so that worked. When I press Home the menu opens. Press F1 gets me the Ordering of the game - Now I got to get to the controls, The Keys that are bind x-z-s-a are the same as in the General Option Input and on the right side are the "controller buttons" if any (don't use one yet since I am trying things out. I think its best if I get a controller. I changed the buttons manually one by one and didn't really changed the controls in game. I will dig around more with this. Thanks for all the help again. BTW I believe that when I run retroarch, it starts from another Patch that when I start it from Launcbox. When I start from Launchbox it starts from here.C:\Users\seatt\LaunchBox\Emulators\RetroArch But when I start Retroarch itself it starts from C:\RetroArch-Win64 So I assume there are 2 config files for each time I run the game or something. Which this is where I got it wrong in the first place.
  10. 1. I extracted them because I found that games like Ecstatica and Alone in the dark wouldn't play as zip files. I don't know why. So there is a mixture of zip files and extracted ones. For the info you gave me, I found those steps before but when for example I start Doom and press F1 it gets me to the details of the game. I went to HotKeys in Retroarch and changed the button to Home and when I press it does nothing (in game opened from Retroarch). Then I changed the HotKey Enable to PageDown, I though that maybe I need to press that first before I press Home and again it does nothing. All the other buttons such as Save State F2 or F4 are working fine. It won't get me to the Menu of Retroarch within the game though. Attached 2 screenshots. Not sure what I am doing wrong and I m not really Comp illiterate
  11. Hey guys trying to build slowly a good lib with arcade, msdos etc. I have a question which as many times as I google it or tryied, can't figure out what is happening. 1. isntalled Retroarch with doxbox pure, done and working 2. Intstalled MS dos (extracted games) as folder in launchbox done and working Now the issue is this. As many times as I change the controls in Retroarch > Input it doesn't reflect the changes when I run the game from within Launchbox. The settings are saved in Retroarch so I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Any suggestions?
  12. Found out that I had the wrong screen analysis in game. 800x600 fixed the issue
  13. Hi, I am new in this, but I ve managed to come so far, import Mame, Snes and figure out my way to working with this and actually playing :). I do have a very mind bugling issue. QUAKE!!!! When I launch from Launchbox (retroarch with DosBox Pure installer) it somehow run at super speed, frames are laggy and it is not playable. When I run it from Retroarch > It is working fine. Any ideas? Has anyone seen something similar? I am on it quite few days and can't find way that is happening.
