  1. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I had hide "Missing Box Front Image" enabled. Even though when Dune was showing on LB, you could see the box art. But I guess somewhere in that mess last night it wasn't really there? I don't know. But that was the problem. I went and downloaded all the art, and now it doesn't disappear anymore and shows up on BB. I wish I knew what I did wrong initially, so I don't repeat the same problem. But the important thing is that it works. I'll also double check your second suggestion to make sure everything is in order. Thanks again!
  2. Just to add, in case the above is confusing, because this feels like a confusing situation on my end. Right now, as I type this, Im playing the game. It works. And the Retroarch saves and the in game saves still work too. The problem is once I'm done playing and turn off LaunchBox, and then restart BigBox or LaunchBox, the game disappears again, forcing me to do a LB restore.
  3. I must have done something really wrong. I'm trying to get Dune 1992 (CD version) to work. And I have, but the problem is the game keeps disappearing from LaunchBox/BigBox. The only way to get it back is to do the "Restore Data Backup". And this is after I kept trying to do "Import Rom Files", "Install MSDOS games", "Import MSDOS games" or whatever else I was trying to do, that must have messed up some things. At one point, over a thousand games disappeared. But I got them back. Important to note, the files never disappeared from the Windows folders, only from LB/BB. I had another version of Dune (the small one without the voices) installed that came with the collection, I have. I don't know, maybe that caused some kind of weird conflict. Apparently it's missing from the Windows directory as if deleted, which is fine, I like the CD version better because of the audio voices and graphic improvements. But I don't remember deleting the actual file myself, unless maybe from the Audit window, when I noticed a bunch of duplicates in red, maybe from all the times, I kept trying to install it to LB/BB where I deleted a few "duplicates". Anyhow, somehow the CD version I put in there, has all the of the media from the older one, which is cool. Its the same game. But it keeps disappearing from LB/BB and I only get it back when I do a "Restore Data Backup". And it plays! So I know it works. It does not disappear from Windows, though. But yeah, can someone please help me make it stay on LB/BB and not disappear as soon as I turn off LB/BB? This is my favorite MSDOS game of all time. Well I played it back in 1992 when it was on Amiga, and now in 2024 I found out there was a version that has audio voices, and now I have it. So I'm on a mission. Help!
  4. This is a rusty question, and there is a good chance this has been asked before. I haven't been into retro gaming since maybe the Bush jr and early Obama administrations. So much has changed! Back then, MAME was the only choice for arcade games, as far as I knew. Does MAME and FBN run the same game titles (I know they run different rom sets)? Does MAME run more games than FBN? Are there games that only work on FBN and not MAME? If so which games? Which is better overall? And is it redundant to have both? Discuss.
  5. According to the latest Launchbox tutorial video, "Automatic ROM Imports - LaunchBox Tutorial", that came out yesterday, you can also configure the delete option to include deleting roms ontop of the videos and images it will already automatically delete. The tutorial instructs to go to Tools > Options > General > Click on "Allow deleting ROMs when deleting games" So it appears that now all you have to do is make sure the above is enabled, go to the category you want to delete, right click on it and delete. I assume it will also work with individual games. Yesterday I asked Pi.ai the same question, and she was also saying how to do it the old way. I should probably tell her as well. But I doubt she will remember in a week, or until she processes this forum.
  6. I tried that, I dont think it works like that anymore. When you select the category, "ctrl A" doesnt do anything. But if you right click on it, there is a delete option. And when you click on it, you get a warning that it will also delete all associated media files with it. So I did that. Then I checked the image and video folders for Final Burn Neo, and all files were deleted, but the empty folders remained. So I left that the folders there. But the rom folder was not deleted. That I had to do manually. But it appears that Launchbox now deletes the media files for you automatically. Thanks for the reply. It led me in the right direction.
  7. This is for desktop. Let's say I want to delete my entire collection of Final Burn Neo roms, including all the art work and extras, to make room for something else. What would be the most pro way of doing that that doesn't leave behind all the extra media Launchbox found for it?
  8. Ok I get it now. When on Launchpad downloading the theme videos, each computer/console has a drop-down menu for different videos. I had no idea. Thanks for the help!
  9. Torque from Amiga Portal.de is remaking Dune for Amiga, with extra content and new characters from Dune lore. It's in German, so you may have to translate it. I'm really hoping he releases an English version. My favorite Amiga/MSDOS game of all time. No release date yet, but it's already looking gorgeous. 10. For those who want to help Yuzu and worried of other dev projects are at risk either because of working on Nintendo emulation or because other companies like Sony might follow up after a verdict is made against Yuzu - hopefully not. We're being asked to contact the EFF to represent Yuzu. If Yuzu loses, the community wonders who could be next. https://www.reddit.com/r/EmulationOnAndroid/s/IrPY6Af5zE
  11. Thanks again Faeran! It worked. But curious, the NES was the only one working before, but now the video is different. Before, it had a really bada$$ hip hop beat. Any idea why or if there are other videos I dont know about?
  12. I agree. I was thinking in those rare cases, though. And not just about emulation. Colombia last year, I believe, had the biggest programming course with the most attendants in programming history. There is a work force and a market there yet to be tapped to its fullest potential. And the country next door is a good place to be out of the reach of countries like Japan, when doing things Japanese businesses might not like. Until of course international relations come to an agreement again. Just something to keep in mind, in case folks wake up one day with wild aspirations. There are... options.
  13. My opinion is community. I believe the little child in us all, brings us all together. I think such efforts like Yuzu should be done in countries like Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, or even Colombia. But mostly Venezuela. Since Japan hasn't recognized their government since 2019, Venezuelan business ventures are free to do what they wish with Japan's digital property and interpret it their own way. Also, I don't believe the Latin American retro gaming community has been marketted to enough. And the US sanctions against Venezuela, no longer have the strengh it used to since most Latin American nations have reopened thier doors to Venezuelan trade and business. Which means, a business like Yuzu in Venezuela can sell to most American nations, except maybe the US, Canada, El Salvador, and now Argentina. A subsidiary in another country would possibly be able to sell to the US. In such independent countries, ideas like Yuzu can flourish and would be welcomed warmly. Or Yuzu can fight it. Either way, I believe the community needs a base in the Caribbean beaches of Venezuela for longevity, with an office in Colombia to do business transactions with the world.
  14. Hi, Im brand spanking new to BigBox/Launchbox. Just got BigBox for my Windows 11 desktop, yesterday. Enclosed are two images showing my issue with every theme for BigBox. When I scroll through the consoles, the main images/animations dont show. Yet it shows it for NES, only. It doesnt show for Genesis, SNES, Atari, Coleco, Amiga, MSDOS, or Windows. I wanted to add a few more consoles, but holding up on that, until I get BigBox working correctly. Any idea what I did wrong or what I have to do to fix it? It works for NES though, with cool music and animations. But doesnt work for anything else.
  15. Thanks for the feedback. That one looks nice. I couldnt wait though and ended up going for a ShanWan. The dpad are buttons, so maybe that will work better, since I have seen many people complain about dpads. I dont know, honestly. But all the buttons light up and it has that smaller look, so I dont look like a total dweeb in the subway or at work. Its on sale for $30 on Amazon. I only saw two gamepads like these with light up buttons, one was going for $50 and has rumble capabilities. Image below. Amazon dealers for some reason dont like to advertise the names of their gamepad devices, which is weird. But I went for the $30 ShanWan because of the smaller look and longer battery life, which is 25 hours. The $50 one is pretty, but is only 15 hours of play. Maybe I'll write a review here after I get to play with it.
  16. This question goes out to all the Launchbox users on Androids. What are your favorite wireless controllers for your mobile device, and why? Post screenshots if you can. Right now I'm using a discontinued 2018 Ipega. I want to upgrade to one with light up buttons and a good dpad. My dpad doesn't seem sensitive enough and doesn't get the corners unless I press really hard, making me struggle moving back and forth in games like Budokan (Genesis, Amiga, MS-DOS). Ideally: 1. The inputs (buttons, sticks, dpad) should be easily picked up by the game. 2. Buttons should light up. 3. Should physically look nice connected to your mobile device, not just a regular gamepad that one would use on a desktop or console.
  17. Thanks Joe for the reply. That clarifies everything. A bit saddened I can't share the premium account between my desktop (windows 11) and the retro gaming device (android) I'm working on. Hopefully that may change in the near future and subscriptions can be tied to an email address rather than an operating system. Now I have to decide which project to abandon half way, my desktop or retro mobile gaming device.
  18. If I subscribe through the yearly subscription or get the lifetime subscription, how many devices can I use Bigbox on? Do I get to install it on my desktop and phone? And if I get a new phone will there be a problem porting the license? Can I have it on my desktop, phone and on a project to make an arcade cabinet in my living room? What's my limit?
