I think that all the pirate exploitation of hyperspin has been going on for a decade (to the point where in terms of referencing when you do a search for "hyperspin" you come across pirate sites first) it must have really pissed them off (and we understand them) We can complain about the paywalls here for the license or for a patreon but it puts up nice barriers and we see very few pirate launchboxes on the networks. But for them it's impossible to go back, it's always been free! and it has to stay that way! So in a nutshell, big means! I think they absolutely want to protect both their content but also that of their contributor.. And I think it's developed largely in this direction... and keep the control Wait and see! -

Why do some people think videos are superfluous?a well thought out video creates an immersive atmosphere. It transmits the heritage and culture of the game. It's like Guardian of Culture.. Being able to offer both possibilities and have a kind of backward compatibility at least initially so that the old-timers can adapt to editing software would be great! and we would keep both the DNA of hyperspin and open up the field of possibilities. Many of us have made our first productions here on hyperspin and moved on to video and I'm sure that few would go back! Most of the historical "arcade" mame themes are available in video format in 4:3 in 16/9 and in HD! But only on 16 bits too! So the stuff is already compatible. The guys have done an incredible job. It's the tools and habits of the users that have simply remained. Concerning the way each system reacts, it's true that it's a bit of a sawtooth even if the team ido everything possible to to improve things, we are very far from the quasi-instantaneous hyperspin or retrobat or even a good coin ops on retro fe. But launchbox has other assets! After the quarrels between the "hyperpsin approved" and the launchbox supporters, there will always be some! We had the same thoughts 30 years ago (Super nes vs megadrive) it's endless. But I must admit that I didn't think I would see this kind of reaction anymore when we are old enough. and in these cases competition is always beneficial especially for us :users! -

I'm curious to see how it evolved. I spent my first year trying to create things on hyper spin and everything was complicated. When I think back on it, my brain is boiling lol. I keep a good memories of it because I learned everything the hard way... I remember the xml list that had to be updated to the decimal point just to add a game... I still use it, but mainly for my arcades, and retrobat still works just as well. It's going to be interesting to see ... the tools they're going to propose to the creators, because they'll be the ones who'll make the software work or not, since the content will essentially come from there ... For a few years now, launchbox's level has been very high, thanks to Y2guru's community creator tools. But I imagine they've been curious and will make sure to offer an equivalent. -

This is it! Almost 6 years after starting this custom theme on hyperspin, the “clean and completed” version of Nostalgic Bedroom is about to land on your machines, and therefore on launchbox big box! But what makes NB so special? NB is already completely unique in that almost EVERYTHING has been built from scratch! The video part is monstrous! The video and editing work is colossal: over the years, I've created between 10 and 25 video themes for each game almost every month, and each video took me between 2 and 4 hours to create. He's Alive! *All the interfaces and animated backgrounds have been created and hand-crafted: they allow you to take up the entire lore of a saga and immerse yourself completely in the universe of each series! *Count on an average of between 6 and 10 views for each Nostalgic collection! *I didn't just do basic backgrounds with some animation, there was real brainstorming to integrate elements and assets from the games each time. like here for resident evil and the inventory view Fusiooooooonnnn! *Views of my 5 “Ultima” stand-alones are now integrated into NB Castlevania 10 views Zelda 10 views Metal Gear 10 views Final Fantasy 10 views Resident Evil 10 views Each port now also includes a start-up theme / a shudown / and a pause sequence (press back in the interface to activate the pause). The ultimas remain “works” in their own right, as of course I was only able to integrate the “game” views. Be kind REWIND! We integrated a Virtual Video CLUB 80 with 6 views / A real team effort fultilt and bitirim brought their idea and the media I took care of the rest The entrance... 4 sections 80/90/80 HORROR AND JAPAN NOSTALGIC VREALITY I integrated and designed three VR experiences: everything is playable in subjective Vr view or IN desktop mode via a pairing with retroarch: *Nostalgic Bedroom *Zelda Fans Rooms *Final Fantasy Loft A 4th "arcade" experience in progress:) The Store fronts are (almost all integrated via views: Steam Epic game Wii shop Thousands of icons! I've designed and created some 1,700 silver icons over the years, to give them an original and, to my mind, practical touch that's much more visual than a simple logo. Not only are they unique, but they systematically reproduce the vintage visuals! It was out of the question for me to start from fan art visuals or take liberties for the following reasons: Practical: it's much quicker to find your game with a familiar visual. Nostalgia and visual appeal (most of the original artworks have been completely restored). And above all, to avoid minor problems of consistency and anachronism. With sound, it's all the better! The “Sound” part was for me almost as important as everything else, so I worked hard on each view or menu, and I slipped into the shoes of a sound designer. Ambient sound: For many views, a simple ambience routine works perfectly well to impress the audience! Each system / console has its own historical sound, and there's nothing better for in the context of the times: C'est sons là has lulled us to sleep for generations, and for a nostalgia theme it was essential! Be prepared to smile and be surprised, and think to yourself: “ah he thought of that! NB final level up ! There are more than 15 completely new Nostalgic collections joining the old ones! TOTAL 45 COLLECTIONS With an average of 6 and 10 different and distinct views for each of them! A titanic memory box that I hope will do you a world of good every time you need a reminder of how blessed and lucky WE were to live through those crazy years. Hello! It is very likely that at the level of your elements during creation you placed your video behind an image or a background or something else... The element that you place at the very top (in general these are the wheels and for a video background you placed it at the very bottom. Think about how Photoshop works on a template it's the same principle you must not have paid attention and it happens to all of us when we start. You can also put a video from your own system. In fact if you want your main launchbox / your configuration it is the reflection of your ctc. the more media you have the cleaner and more coherent they will be and the easier it will be for you to find layout ideas. So to put a video system theme you have to have each system point to a video if you want it to work. and you do selected video and not user video. I hope that helps you

Ok yes it's a detail but yes it's different so no there's no story of compression if you go through the interface ..^^ I actually had the case for my part of also having a partial switch from one theme to another! it did it when I used a shortcut (when I had assigned a key to the change of themes) I don't know if it's your case but to solve the problem I redid the switch in a "clean" way by going to system = themes = = change view for .. (from memory)

1) As I said above, it can come from dll files or dependencies that have been unblocked! When you unzip, do you just extract here? If so, it's not enough (right-click = properties = unblocked) Always unzip a custom in this way! I know many who have given up and missed the functionality thinking it was due to compression or said that the custom function did not work because they had not read the instructions or because it was not indicated (moreover I advise all creators to put it in very big (I see too many who give up and who do not even test the theme: it's a shame) 2)Retro808 is right it can come from the views but if it does it to you on all themes it's surprising. 3)If you have time it takes 10 minutes and if you think it comes from the last update you can go back the updates are in a folder in the launchbox folder.. you will be fixed!

Over the years I have accumulated a large amount of retro themes to the point that today I have enough to build a nice BEST SET, at least that's the case on Super NES but also on PSX AND PS2! So I'm coming to survey you because the upload takes time even with fiber because I don't know if the game themes still interest people in the community! If that's the case let me know! ^^

Apps are plentiful and games far more numerous than you might imagine, since 2 years ago praydog, a talented modder behind the Resident Evil iN VR ports, developed UEVR. UEVR and it's a game changer. A utility that makes (almost) any PC game VR-compatible - more than 10,000 games developed under the Unreal Engine on PC, and so many potential guinea pigs to put Praydog's tool to good use. Playing dead island 2 in vr, for example, is possible and even super playable. But you're right, there's a lot of work to be done! For my part, I've already put aside a lot of media: launch theme / interface / Icons wheel I've already got a big VR part in my custom big box, and even more today since I'm developing on emu vr as part of a small team developing a mod. I have to learn about unity in self taught mode so I'm doing it. use frequently !
