Thanks vahn, to be honest I didn't get any crashes but i did experience a few long "lags" that I think is due to the ffmpeg issues. I did read that alot of people are having some trouble with that and it only happened to me a few times out of 100+ hours in BigBox. Im sure Jason and the team will get that fixed up sometime soon. As for the sound I believe it's the same ffmpeg issue, in the game lists I use "selected item video" which doesn't allow you to mute the sound. In the platform list I used "User Selected Video" and it does indeed have a mute function, which I did use when BGM is enabled. If you disable the BGM in global settings it will then play sound from the videos in platform view 1. Hope you guys get your builds back up sometime soon, I picked a bad time to release the early access i see.

Thanks for the input, it helps more than you might think. I also like the 3D box, feels like im almost holding the game. I got a good idea to implement the 3d box for the details and still keep it seemless. I can't add all the metadata but i can have the box back show using the 3d model, I will tinker with this today and see what I can do. If I collapse the entire Case Grid in details it should hide all that behind it, leaving you to freely swivel away at those cases. If I can pull it off I'll add a option to switch between the 2D Box Back and the 3D Box Back so everybody is happy. I rebuilt the whole thing with this in mind, you can turn several things on/off real easy now.

I went with the seamless box back this time, like the fragments and coverbox. The 3D box details screen (which reads alot of metadata) was causing some extra lag when browsing the game list. I've been using the 3D box models for the startup/shutdown themes, so you can spin them around when the game is loading and exiting. If it's a wanted feature perhaps I could squeeze that in somehow, if I added it in without reading all the metadata info it would display the box front (or solid color) when you spin it around, breaking the immersion. Out of curiosity, which did you prefer?

I think I see the issue with those. I had them inside a extra folder, sorry about that. I re-uploaded them, they should work now. If not, let me know. I will look into those sometime today. I built all these with CTC 3.2 and that might be the cause of the startup/pause issues, actually, I know it is. I never went back and rebuilt all these with the newer CTC version that fixes those issues. That will take me a minute, I know in this version those views still need a bit of work. I'll have to grab the older 3.1.5 version of CTC (as thats what I made these with) and re-publish each theme, zip up all the stuff, and re-upload them all. It's Saturday, the best day. I usually spend most of the afternoon with the family, got the pool up and clean, and I am on camera/lifeguard duty while the kids play fast and loose jumping into the pool. I will be busy with that for most of the day, but I will find time to get that fixed up sometime later tonight hopefully. EDIT: Turns out I had some time before all the chaos, I re-uploaded all the themes, and pause/startup themes. I tested with SNES theme and all seems well. Hope that fixes your issues.

Nostalgic Memories - Platform Themes View File DESCRIPTION: Hello everyone, I spent the last few weeks working on a new style for my platform themes, previously known as Coverbox Fragments, which is based off of Faeran's Coverbox. It's a series of individual platform themes based off of actual console bios/menus. I had first planned to just start where I left off with it and make new fragments for it, that later changed as I felt the need to do more than I did before. I always wanted to make use of all the views, instead of binding myself only to the text view. So, I have a proposition...I want to redo them all in this new style. Knowing that I would have to rebuild the fragments when CTC 3.2 came around was always a thought in the back of my mind. Why wait I say, sounds way more fun to make them all again from scratch with CTC 3.2. Now I can create more views than before, implement the new features of CTC 3.2, and push BigBox to its limit. I decided on a new project name since it isn't focused on one view anymore, i named it Nostalgic Memories because that's what this project reminds me of the entire time I'm making them. I had a lot of fun making this first one, I'm excited to start on another. I plan on making one of these for each platform, I will always use the coverbox fragments style for the text view with all platforms as I did before. NOTE: CTC 3.2 is still being worked on by y2guru, you may notice a few things that aren't all the way finished because of that. Don't worry, I check Dave's Patreon page everyday for updates, as soon as they come in I'll be sure to update them. Marquee view, and animations on the shutdown view are still being worked on. It will be fixed when CTC is updated, the shutdown screen animations I may have to redo I feel that's a error on my end that I can't figure out. As usual, it will take me a day or so to get this looking real nice. Once I do it's off to the next platform, be sure to stop by my patreon and vote, its free. NOTE: These themes are designed to be applied to your game list, creating the feeling of entering the consoles menus to browse your games. METADATA REQUIREMENTS: In order to use some features in this theme, you must have correct metadata filled out in Launchbox. Here are some of the fields that I used. -Region (United States, North America, Europe, United Kingdom, Japan) -Release Date (used for proper ESRB/PEGI/CERO by years it was used) -Developer & Publisher Fields should be condensed to 1 company. Don't worry, I didn't put my best views behind a paywall. The Patreon Edition contains extra views for niche and obscure addons for platforms that most people don't even have in their collection. I will always include my best views for free, the extra views for my supporters are my way of saying thank you to them. Each theme has a custom credits view that has no use aside from that. I use Vertical Wheel 4 for that always, you can exit by changing to another view. SCREENSHOTS: SONY PLAYSTATION: SONY PLAYSTATION 2: PATREON: Ah, Patreon. Where do I start. I know some people don't like that I started one, and put fragments behind a paywall. I am here to make that right so the fragments are now free, hope that ends that. I also know that some of you want to help, but don't have a way to buy me stay up late drinks. I will be clear that I'm not out to become a Patreon hero, so don't expect that of me. I believe that if you put effort towards balancing everything out, everybody can be happy. In that regard, I set it up in a way that I thought would make everyone happy. For people that hate the idea of buying anybody a coffee, I provided you with what I did before with way more content, and new views! For people that like to buy others coffee, I have provided you with a means to do so and a special edition with extra views. Equally, both sides get something special, I believe this is the best way. Now that's all said and done, I changed up the Patreon a bit and plan to do so a bit more. I like to hear from everybody so the poll is now public, comments will be public, etc. I like to know what kind of views you guys want added, help me with assets, anything. I love ANYTHING gaming related, including hearing from others that share that same passion. Don't be shy, stop by and help me make the best themes I can. This is a collection of publisher/developer logos that I use in my themes. With some help from Faeran, I now have a way to load them from one location instead of including them in every platform theme I make. Most of these were pulled from Faerans Coverbox theme, after adding quite a few more from my personal collection we are left with this. I plan to update this in the future, I post them here in the meantime just in case another theme dev wants to add these into their theme. FOR THEMES: If you want to add these to your own theme using CTC, but don't know how, drop these xamls into your themes "User Source" folder. Add a new user source element to a view, and select the proper xaml. They wont show until you build the theme and load up bigbox. It search's LaunchBox\Images\Publishers for the logo, and displays it. Right now it only works if you have 1 company listed in the metadata. Coverbox Remastered View File DESCRIPTION: I am quite possibly the biggest Coverbox fan in these forums, I've loved it since the first day I used it. It was my go to for over a year of retro gaming. After using it for a while I started to notice areas that could be improved upon, eventually leading to me wanting to do something about it. After getting permission from Faeran I started adding in all the stuff I wished Coverbox had. Its got all the flashy stuff of a modern theme but still retains that sweet warm glow of Coverbox. After a couple of years I started to feel the same way about my old fragments, all the new stuff Dave was adding to the CTC was missing from those old fragments. Now, here I am again doing that same thing. Redoing the coverbox views, its become my 2nd hobby. I also have an obsession with adding more and more to my gaming library, sometimes I just sit and look through it for hours and never play anything. I like to tinker endlessly with the games, this entire theme from the beginning was designed around my obsessive compulsive habits. You might notice that I take it way too far with the small details, this is because of my ocd, and will likely never change as it's part of who I am. I spent many months listening to what you guys wanted from the previous themes, I took all that information and mashed it together into what you see here. Something for everybody. It's been a long road, I've learned alot over the years and finally feel like I can bring my vision to life. Please keep in mind this is still a very early version of the theme, stick with me while I polish up and add more game list views. To any newcomers, do not be scared off by the massive overload of information in this thread! It works out of the box with no extra work required. It works without installing any of the addons, or adding any custom options. It adapts to what you have installed and it adapts to what media you have. This will only improve as time goes by and people help me test the logic, eventually it will adapt to anything you throw at it. If you want to use all the custom options it can "seem" complex when in fact it's very simple. Making it was not, but using it should be. The custom options are for advanced users that want more out of their game lists. Give it a try, it might be your new go-to theme. Be sure to read the guides I wrote below to get the most out of this theme. Especially the one about how to change global settings! FILE DESCRIPTION: Coverbox Remastered v2.XX.zip - This is the most current version of Coverbox Remastered. Coverbox Remastered - BGM Addon.zip - This is a addon for Coverbox Remastered v2.XX. It adds background music support. It will not work with the old fragments version! Coverbox Remastered - BG Videos Addon.zip - This is a addon for Coverbox Remastered v2.XX. It adds background video support to most of the game list views. It will not work with the old fragments version! Coverbox Remastered Holiday Event Addon.zip - This is a addon for Coverbox Remastered v2.XX. It adds support for a few holiday events. It will not work with the old fragments version! _CUSTOM FIELDS (vX.XX).zip - This a copy of the _CUSTOM FIELDS.txt file that is included in the theme. It contains all the custom options for the game list views Coverbox Fragments (v1.XX) OLD.zip - This is the old Coverbox Fragments project I did a few years ago. This might get removed after I'm finished remastering all of them. FEATURES: Totally Re-Remastered Coverbox views Even more details Insane amount of logic added View box back when in game details in 2D or 3D mode! On-the-fly region changes to UI, cases, logos, buttons, icons, even the background! Many many custom options, so many options. Now with a ton of new customization options! Most of the game views allow you to easily customize them Tons of bonus media is now supported. You can add avatars, official icons, banners, xmb waves, change the color of handhelds, ui themes, the list goes on and on. Make it yours. Cart & disc animations! You can turn them on/off now with the global settings! Working battery levels for portable bigbox users, for all views. Handheld's in game list view even reflect real charge levels! Now with a set of Global Settings so you can get your Coverbox just right Seamless game details menu (just like CoverBox!) Absolutely ridiculous amount of ways to customize this theme. Like seriously man, you won't find anything with more options. Extend your gaming library even further with detailed information on the cover and icon dock, via metadata and custom fields. The tinkering continues well after your setup is complete. Easy to modify! Almost all assets are layered for added flexibility! Don't like a logo I added? root around in the media folder and delete it, edit it, change the color, modify anything you want! EXTREMELY detailed box art options More than just a cover! Under the hood each cover is a fully constructed box. Complete with inlay, disc, cart, wrapper, everything. When missing media happens, what you see underneath feels authentic. Custom startup & pause themes (still working on them for v2) Tremendous amount of hidden detail, some of which you won't even notice until you use it for a while, or add certain games to your collection. Now with Addon Support! Adapts immediately to what you have installed, and what you don't. Background Videos are now installed as a addon! For those who prefer them off, the theme will adapt and switch to static bg. Holiday Events Addon! New Holiday stuff added for those who enjoy a decent jump scare and good ol saint nick. (4th of July, Christmas, Halloween) Now with proper Retroachievements Support! Get them cheevs (Thanks Dave!) Background Music Addon! Listen to some sweet synth beats when you browse the platform list (can be turned off in global settings) Now with Game Save/State Support! IDK what it even is, or how to even activate it, but it's in there. VIDEOS: 2025-09-26 19-14-09.mp4 I'LL MAKE BETTER VIDEOS LATER VIEWS: Platform View 1 - Blades (WIP) Settings View 25 Remastered Coverbox Views Default View (for platforms with no theme yet) More platform/game list views on the way REQUIREMENTS: This theme no longer has many requirements! If the theme is running slow just disable some of the features using the global settings guide BigBox Version: 13 or later Region Metadata Filled Out Gameplay Videos (Its Coverbox after all) Platforms MUST be named using official Launchbox names, listed below. This theme almost requires the use of a dedicated GPU. It will not run very well with onboard GPU. EXTRAS: (OLD STARTUP/PAUSE STUFF) NEW ONES NOT READY YET These are the OLD startup/pause themes from Coverbox Fragments, they work but won't match the new Coverbox Remastered version. Version v2.23.1 - Early Access
4,402 downloads
DESCRIPTION: I am quite possibly the biggest Coverbox fan in these forums, I've loved it since the first day I used it.
