  1. What were you doing in LaunchBox?
  2. What were you doing when this issue occurred? In this situation, LaunchBox is trying to catch up on some background tasks, so killing it is not a good idea. If you just wait a bit longer, it should return to normal. Still, we'd like to mitigate this situation as much as possible. Are you able to determine what you're doing that might be causing it?
  3. That is very disappointing and sad news. I'm sure everything will be back up and running soon though. The Android news is also unfortunate, but we saw it coming. It's one of the reasons why we abandoned our own Android app.
  4. Okay great, so it sounds like you're good to go then, right?
  5. It looks like somehow LaunchBox was installed into the wrong folder. If you look at the folder path, it looks like it was installed inside of your Plugins folder for some reason? Instead of installing it to E:\LaunchBox, it looks like it got installed to E:\LaunchBox\Plugins\LaunchBox. I'm not sure if that's the whole issue here (it probably could be), or if this just happened with the new version. You'll probably want to delete the E:\LaunchBox\Plugins\LaunchBox folder (assuming that's not where all your data and media is), and then reinstall to the E:\LaunchBox folder. Also, what messages are you receiving from Windows about it being dangerous? Can you give me screenshots or the text of those messages?
  6. @smolz Can you try beta 14 to see if it resolves the issue for you? https://www.dropbox.com/s/uctpo7remxfgusz/LaunchBox-11.3-beta-14-Setup.exe?dl=0
  7. Beta 14 is out now with the following: Fix for issues saving the Max Players field Fixes for the Date Modified field not being updated Fixes for game details sidebar image loading delays with the Old Default theme Translation updates Changed the alternate name logic to prioritize the title from the ROM file name over the region title Hopeful fix for startup crashes that a couple of users were running into
  8. @wallmachine Do you use any file syncing services? What were you doing in LaunchBox at the time?
  9. That does help actually, thanks. I'm going to dive into the code to see if it's possible to fix it for the next beta. Thanks!
  10. I see, okay, well that actually explains some of what's going on. It's either a permissions issue of some sort (most likely) or a corrupted file system. You can run chkdsk to make sure it's not the file system. What type of drive is your E drive? Is it an external USB drive?
  11. Yeah, no issues with your Data folder that I can see (loads up fine on mine). That leaves us with a few possibilities: Some files are incorrect in the LaunchBox installation somehow (which doesn't really make sense if the install is completing successfully) A theme or plugin is causing issues (but we've already ruled that out for the most part) Somehow some media files are broken and causing issues (should be a rare situation) The hard drive file system is corrupt All seem to be fairly unlikely scenarios, but I don't know what else it would be. What I would try first is temporarily moving your media folders out of the LaunchBox folder to see if it still happens.
  12. It's possible that it's not an issue with your Data folder then, but with some other files somehow (or it could be a hard drive failure, but let's hope not). Let me take a look at your Data folder here quick.
  13. Gotcha, so it's somehow data or configuration related. Can you zip up and PM me your LaunchBox\Data folder? That way I can investigate it to see what might be causing the issue.
  14. Thanks for helping us troubleshoot this; hopefully we can get it figured out. It's apparently some kind of system-specific issue, but I'm still not quite sure what's causing it. Can you try installing a separate copy of LaunchBox to a different folder on your machine? That should help us determine if it's somehow a configuration issue with the LaunchBox installation, or if it's with LaunchBox itself.
  15. Is it LaunchBox or Big Box that won't start up?
  16. Okay, thanks. Do you happen to have any plugins installed in the LaunchBox\Plugins folder? Are you using a custom theme for LaunchBox?
  17. Assuming you're running a 64-bit version of Windows 10, can you try downloading and running this installer? https://www.dropbox.com/s/bckz97j4sc8ok8d/windowsdesktop-runtime-3.1.6-win-x64.exe?dl=0
  18. Okay, same results then I assume? LaunchBox won't start?
  19. It may have timed out when asking for admin rights during the install. Go ahead and re-run the installer and let me know if that fixes it for you.
  20. Hi @smolz, sorry to hear. What version of Windows are you running? Were you prompted to install .NET Core 3.1 during the setup process?
  21. Love that for the thumbnail @Cauptain, thanks! We'll probably end up using it for the video.
  22. Thank you all very much. I have the translations updated for the next beta, which should be out later today. As it turns out, it may still be a few days (or even a week) before the official comes out, as it seems we have some more bugs to resolve.
  23. Is the Oculus Rift plugged in? Does it happen if you unplug it and reboot?
  24. Do you have multiple monitors Neil? What DPI settings are you using on each monitor?
  25. Can you PM me a zip of your LaunchBox\Data folder? We can look into to see what might be happening.
