I managed to fix it. I started thinking about what dependencies launchbox needs so i did a little research and saw that it needed .net core. i figured i would just do a repair but i didnt see it in my installed programs. i wasnt sure what version i needed but found a link to download it in the launchbox thread listed below. When i went to install it, apparently i did have it installed so i did a repair and BINGO...everything works fine now. This issue is now considered fix.

Hi Backstory: I was recently playing a game that when I went to close it to return to desktop, it hung for what seemed like forever. When it did close I noticed my left pane in launchbox was missing my systems. I didnt pay much mind to it, as I was about to upgrade my hard drive which all my games reside on (not windows drive). I shutdown the pc, as I had first disconnected the old drive to clone it on another pc, but then changed my mind and reconnected it back to my gaming pc. When I booted up my gaming pc it went to system repair, as it wouldnt boot. It turned out a driver went bad, so I fixed it and was able to boot up normally again. The next issue was my amd adrenaline/drivers went bad for my radeon card. I fixed that too. Now when I went to launchbox, I noticed my left pane was still missing my systems. I did ctrl+s to verify it was open, which it was. I also verified my view was set to images view, which it was. I restarted launchbox several times to no avail. I also noticed if I go into edit for any game everything in the right pane is missing too. I tried bigbox too and when I select a system, the left pane does not show my roms listed to scroll thru anymore either. When I go to the options menu, it looks blank as well, but I am able to move up and down in the menu, although I have to idea what I am selecting until I select it. Now I have no idea whats going on with launchbox/bigbox. I dont know if it was related to that game crash or the windows crash or something else or something else entirely unrelated. I attached 5 screenshots. 2 of the bigbox screenshots look identical but if you look at the blue line on the left pane, you can see it moves. win 10 pro i7-4790k rx580 8gb Sorry for the lengthy message but I hope I gave enough info to get some help. OK thanks. I was trying to avoid using any internal space for any launchbox stuff but I guess I have no choice. I already keep my roms on my sd card so nothing will change there. Thanks for the reply

I am having a problem saving to my SD card as well. I copy the launchbox folder from internal storage to the root of the SD card as suggested but it doesn't work. When I reopen launchbox and select the copied folder to change the launchbox directory I get the error android is not granting read and write permission to this folder. When I check the folder in fx explorer I can see write access enabled. I am on a pocophone f1 on Android 10 with launchbox v0.41 and my phone is not rooted. Thanks

Ok I attached a LB pic showing that you can see gameplay screenshots. Another pic of BB showing no gameplay screenshots and a video scrolling thru a few games. You'll see the screenshots pop up for a split second and vanish. Hope this helps you possibly come up with a solution. Thanks for your help. 20210726_095338.mp4

Hi New to BigBox but not LaunchBox. No matter what theme I use I cannot get my gameplay screenshots to display properly. Some themes do not display them at all while others show them for a split second and then its gone. It seems it sees the screenshots but it wont display it correctly for some reason. Whatever themes I try, I keep vanilla to start before I mess around with it. My 3d box art shows as it should and everything else seems to be working as intended. I have made sure my gameplay screenshots are at the top of the list in LB options under media. I do not use videos so I have unchecked everything related to videos. The only things I have selected to use are 3d box, background, and screenshots with gameplay at the top. I am on the latest version of LB as of writing this and I have a license for LB/BB. My hunch is it has something to do with the transitions for images but I really have no clue. I have not edited any of the xml files for any of the installed themes. I also have not changed and of the default image locations that LB creates. Currently I am just trying to get the default BB theme to work and hoping if I fix that, then the others will work as well. Thanks in advance. *UPDATE* I got it working now so this request is resolved. In BB I refreshed thumbnail images and that fixed it, so all is good now. Glad it helped someone besides myself.

In case anyone ever comes across with the same need it seems I found an answer. It seems Pinnacle has some intelligence to it and can detect the executable you are running and automatically launch the game profile. With having that there is no need to touch every rom to add additional applications. Hope this helps someone besides myself.

@nmc i had seen your other post about this previously. this is what i tried and it did indeed work. luckily i dont have more than 20 games for DC since this can be time consuming. thanks

Hi Firstly I LOVE LaunchBox! Great job! It would be nice if there was a feature to Bulk Add Additional Apps to rom collections. So my situation is this... Most emulators do not let you exit from the controller, which everyone knows, so I am using Pinnacle to address this, and it works great. My problem is after I bulk import my roms it does not have the Pinnacle app attached to it, so I have to add this separately to each individual rom. That's alot of work. So it would be great if a feature like this existed to add Additional Apps to multiple roms at once. If anything like this exists already, then please let me know but I have searched and found nothing on this. Thanks so much.

@bd000 thanks for the suggestion. i am really trying to avoid doing the extras like that as much as possible. so far all the pc games and emulators i have tried worked great with minimal tinkering. i knew this one was gonna be a pain. i saw another post where someone launches the games as regular games with a command line and not as an emuator. im leaning towards that if i cannot find anything else.

would anyone care to share how they got dreamcast games to launch with nulldc in launchbox? the command line in this post doesnt work. it would launch nulldc but not the games. i used to use mala frontend and got nulldc to work with this command: -config ImageReader:defaultImage="%path%\%rom%.%ext%" sadly that didnt work. any help would be appreciated. im really loving launchbox so this would be a bummer if i cannot get dreamcast games to launch. thanks
