Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I had a hell of a time figuring out how this is accomplished. To save the next guy some trouble, here's what you do: Create a bios folder in your mame directory and move all your bios files there. Edit the mame.ini file. Find the line that says "rompath roms" and change it to "rompath roms;bios" and save the file. This tells mame to also look in that new directory for necessary files. You can do the same for CHD folders as well, if you wish. If you don't already have a mame.ini file to edit, you can generate a default one by running "mame64 -cc" at the command line.

You're breaking the first two rules of fight club. Just let everybody go on forgetting that newsgroups are a thing so torrents can continue to be the low-hanging fruit for the internet police.

I agree on all points so far: Launchbox 4.0 looks fantastic, the ExoDOS collection is great, and the MEAGRE frontend is an abomination. The folks who put the ExoDOS collection obviously put a huge amount of work into it. Every game (3000+) has all the metadata and images you'd want, it's just formatted for a terrible frontend. I've got the ExoDOS "action games" set now, and I'm working on the other sets. If the launchbox devs would be interested in figuring out a way to pull the metadata, I'd be happy to send them the sets.
