  1. Downgraded to version 7.10 stable. Made a fresh install with only one platform and a few games to test. Still the same issue!! In two different systems. It's not crashing since i have very few games but i do get the mini freezes and CPU spikes just like before. So it's not a problem with the beta only. This is starting to drive me a bit crazy. Also, can't find any older versions. I reported this to Jason as you said. Edit: Tested this on a THIRD system. This one is a bit older, with a Core 2 Duo CPU. installed version 7.10 stable and then upgraded to latest beta. Both versions have the same issues yet again. Only this time more severe because the CPU is slower so the CPU spikes go up to 16% instead of 4-5% in the other systems. So i stutter/freezes every 6 seconds like before, but the freezes last for more miliseconds. Can't believe i'm the only one who experiences these issues in 3 different systems. I'm going to test this on a 4th system soon, this time a laptop. I'm going to try this on as many different systems as possible until i find one that isn't affected, lol.
  2. Ok. Thanks for testing it. Guess i'll have to wait for the next stable version and hope it gets fixed for me somehow. Is there any way to get an older version perhaps? I think version 6.7 was the last version that didn't give me such problems.
  3. Seems like i'm the only one who gets the crash, in 2 different systems. Could you try one more thing? When you open the edit window and then the download images/media window, cab you move that window around the screen with your mouse? See if there are any stutters while the window is moving. Like it's freezing for a bit every few seconds. Thanks for testing this.
  4. I did a fresh install with fresh options and all and just copied one library of 500 games in it to make sure it's as light as possible. Same problem. Here's how to reproduce the issue, it's 100% fail-proof for me i can reproduce it all the time. Open LaunchBox. Right click on any game and press "Edi". Then press the "download images/media" button on the bottom right. After it gives you the results just move the window around with the mouse. Every 6 seconds it should do mini-freezes. Now the program will perform like this until you restart it. Those freezes exist even when you don't do this but they are very subtle. It still causes the program to crash though if you "push it". Go to "All" platforms and wait for the images to cache. Then grab the mouse slider and go up and down fast, from top to bottom. If you have enough games, it should crash after a few loops. Mine crashes with 8.000 games.
  5. Oh man I have the exact same issues on my Windows 10 machine. Same minor stutter every 6 seconds, same increase of intensity of those stutters when i do something with the program, same crash when i try to "push" the program by scrolling my full library up and down with the mouse... The only difference is that when it crashes, i get no message like in Windows 7. Also, an easier way to notice the stutter (if it's there) is to open the edit rom window, open the "download media" window and just move it around with the mouse. Every 6 seconds the window freezes in place and "teleports". So, obviously it wasn't my system. But if it's not the program either then it must be my LauncBbox Setup. Maybe an option or something but i tried many things to no avail. Edit: Here you can see the CPU spikes every 6 seconds, after i have opened Launchbox and played with it a bit. This happens in both machines. Both pretty powerful and never had any problems with LaunchBox.
  6. This on desktop mode right? My library is 8.000 games big. But i have an i54670 + 16GB RAM. I also use a RAMdisk for the image cache. I shouldn't have any performance problems. Actually, i never had any problems with version 6 something but i had to upgrade because of a new feature i wanted. It runs smoothly otherwise, it doesn't feel like the system is loaded but those spikes every 6 seconds makes it annoying to use. I will try this on my Windows 10 system to see if it's also affected.
  7. Also, if i scroll my full library up and down fast enough, i get a crash with this message: "a new guard page for the stack cannot be created" Edit: Keep in mind that i'm talking about the Desktop mode here, not Big Box. Sorry DP.
  8. The problem might not be immediately apparent. Try scrolling up and down your library smoothly with the mouse, you should notice a small stutter every few (5-6) seconds. This might be minor enough to not notice it. But if you try doing some things like updating images, info, etc, basically use the program. Then try scrolling again... When i do that, the stutter becomes intense enough to be described as mini-freeze. Since i'm in the middle of creating a new system library this stuttering gets in the way. I have no performance problems with anything else, just this.
  9. I'm using 7.11 beta 14 already. I had the same problem with beta 9.
  10. Any way to fix this? It's kinda annoying, it happens whenever i do anything with the program, open a window, an option, run an emulator, etc, not just editing stuff. Is it only me?
  11. I get this error while i'm browsing my library sometimes and the program crashes... "a new guard page for the stack cannot be created" This happens with the latest beta. I tested both beta 9 and 14 and it happens in both versions.
  12. Whatever you do in the desktop mode (i don't have a license), like scrolling your libraries, there is a small stutter every few seconds. This stutter is guaranteed and happens every 5 or 6 seconds. The stutter becomes more intense if you open other windows like options or after you edit a rom and download a box-art for instance. After you do this, the stutter is very intence and feels like the program is freezing for a moment. This only gets fixed when you restart the program but it comes back again if you use it.
  13. The export option was one of the most useful tools but after updating from an older build, i can no longer find it. Is there any way to create a single zip file with all the roms and media for each platform? I was using this option to create libraries for other frontends.
  14. I have the same problem. Can't find any commands to add to LaunchBox so that i can load games without having to deal with the Phoenix UI first.
  15. Looks like it's working nicely.
  16. The whole point of this request is a fast way to test/run games using every emulator you have assigned for the systems. Without having to edit and re-edit the "default" emulator every time you want to use a different one. By double-clicking the rom, it launches the default emulator and that's fine. What we are asking is that, when you right-click on a ROM, you get the option to "run with" any of the other emulators that support that system, without editing anything. I posted this in the first page but i'll repost it for the second, in case anyone missed it You can see this in QuickPlay. It allows you to change emulators on the fly, without re-editing every time you want to test a different emulator. And it only shows the emulators that are compatible with the system you want to play. This is one of the best features of this program.
  17. Could someone explain how the advanced search works please? Nothing is changed in the search field. And i don't know how the nested filters and auto-populate playlist options are supposed to work. I don't even know if i can use these in the free version. When i made the ticket i had the search field in mind btw. Can one with more search options be implement instead?
  18. Ok so the issue in Bitbucket is tagged as "resolved" for some time now but i still can't find any option about the search function. I'm updating to beta versions to see if it's implemented but it doesn't seem to be any change. Is it going to be implemented in a future release?
  19. I noticed that the issue got a new status as "resolved". But the latest version doesn't seem to have any difference. Is this for an upcoming release?
  20. Bump. Is there any chance of implementing this in the near future?
  21. Hey guys, don't forget to vote for this if you like the feature. Maybe this way it will be implemented in the future. https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/1005/run-with-context-menu-to-be-able-to-run
  22. I updated to version 7.4 and i have a problem on my main PC related to the cache. On my old PC everything is fine. On my main PC i keep the cache folder in the RAMdisk since version 6.10 beta 6 allows me instant access to all images after restarting, without the images refreshing themselves. But with 7.4 i have problems. First of all, the images aren't displayed instantly after i restart the program, the images look like they are filling the empty space. It's fast since the images are cached but it's not instant like in version 6.10 beta 6. That's problem number 1. Problem number 2 is that, normally, the complete cache should be 15.832 files at 227MB exactly. This is when all the images are cached. But for some reason today it keeps adding files until it fills my whole RAMDisk (which is 1GB). This happens because even after i cached a system (say NES) sometimes when i go back to that folder it re-caches everything without replacing the old cache files. It just adds new ones instead. Any ideas?
  23. I'm using LaunchBox (free version) for about a year. There are a couple of issues in bitbucket i'd like to see being tackled before going for the full version but all this time i don't think i have seen any issue there being looked upon. For instance, the first 10 or so top voted requests are there for many months now, some of them being a year old. That's the top voted ones that i assume get the highest priority? So if those issues are stuck there for so long, what are the chances to ever see any requests with a lower vote count being tackled? There are like 40 pages of requests atm... Basically my question is, does the bitbucket requests or the votes matter at all?
  24. This is not the same thing. This is about fast switching emulators on the fly through a context menu. Like right click on a game and "run with" and select from a list of emulators you have setup for that system. This is about having huge collections of games and want to test which emulators run best with which games. Also, emulators get updated all the time. Again, a context menu should allow for a fast switching and testing, even when a game has a different default emulator selected. Please, look at my QuickPlay example in my previous posts. It's a different thing. And very useful.
  25. So, it's been a while, is there any chance we will see this implemented any time soon?
