  1. I had an error today while trying to remove an image that it was open and could not be deleted.  I haven't run into this problem in the past that I can remember.  I think this beta cycle is over, but thought I would mention it anyway.

  2. When you run RA DosBox it is a completely different version of DosBox than the one that runs natively with LB.  The emulation cores that are in RA are going to have a lot more that you can configure, which is just a benefit of RA.  You can go into LB options > Tools > Manage > DosBox to get to the configuration options for the basic version of DosBox that comes with LB, but the options are pretty limited.

I messed a bit with it using the command line for RA

Sundogak, do you have any problems with the command line options for (the standalone) mini vmac?  Mine seems to refuse to recognize any of the options (I get the message about the argument being no good when I launch mini vmac).  I've double checked that I'm using valid arguments with the gryphel website, tried entering them with different formats in and out of LB, and tried with the standard mini vmac and some variations I made thru the website, but it seems to continue rejecting them.  I thought you might have some insight on it.  Thanks.

This would result in the preview image/section becoming bigger and making the preview items stay the same.

Ok... sounds good.  That is basically what I was looking to do, but it's not a big worry.  Would it be the same problem with trying to reduce the minimum width of the side bar on the other side (the platforms bar)?

    Thanks again.

Look in the GameDetailsView.xaml file for a Carousel element

Ok... thanks.  I see how that works.  What I'm really wanting to do is increase the size in relation to the details view itself.  The max height is ok, because I never really have the game details view wide enough to require a larger maximum height.  Also, it's the large image I'm trying to increase and not the smaller thumbnails (not sure if they are independent of each other).  Thanks again for the help.

If it is a LB theme and not a BB theme you would edit the GameDetailsView.xaml located in \LBThemes\[Theme Name]\Views

Thanks.  Is there a particular entry in the file that I would tweak?  You can probably tell I have no idea what I'm doing... just want to change that one thing.  Thanks again.

Improvement: Deleting a game in LaunchBox no longer scrolls the user back up to the top of the view

I love this.  I had just been dealing with this yesterday and was thinking how much more efficient it would be if it didn't return you to the top of the view each time.  Very nice improvement.

  8. As a workaround, for now, I just opened both disks in the standalone mini vMac and copied all the game content onto a folder on a copy of my system disk so that I can access it all on one disk in RA.  Maybe down the road they will have an easy way to mount two disks at startup.

  9. I think the only thing that is different from what I was doing is the "-L".  Not sure what that command is, but I just tried to work it in, but didn't see any change.  I've also wondered if there are shortcuts for the ctrl/alt commands from the standalone version (example alt-m for magnify, or load disk would be especially helpful).  I don't see anything that suggests that there is in the online documentation, etc...

  10. Thanks for taking the time to write up a detailed explanation.  I appreciate it.  This makes perfect sense... the problem I'm running into is that with the RA core, if I have custom command-line parameter with the path to the second disk, it won't launch at all.

*edit*  Reversing the first and second disk fixes that, so that it is launching the system disk first, but then it simply doesn't load the second disk.  My second disk is a compilation of games that I loaded onto a blank virtual disk a long time ago (using HFV explorer, or something... I actually don't remember how I did it).  This works fine in the standalone, but RA won't seem to load a second disk.

  11. In MiniVMac standalone, you place your .dsk files in the same folder and the emulator .exe and name then disk1 and disk2 to load multiple disks (basically the system disk and a disk of games, etc).  How do you get the second disk to load with the system disk when using Retroarch.  I can only figure out how to get it to load the system disk.

    Thanks for the help.

I don't have the complete ExoDOS. set. Just a curated list. But *I think* most games don't need to be installed. And DosBox-Pure auto-mounts disc 1 to D:\. This was a special case because The 7th Guest has 2 discs and the game needs to be installed. But great you got it working!

I just did 11th Hour also... after the first one it made more sense.  That one had four discs.  The complication was that it wasn't detecting sounds drivers, so had to go in and do the sound install, then restart back to the menu and run the "go" file.  I think there are some other games that will run into that sound install problem (Ultima 7 comes to mind... I think).  But I think I have it figured out, thanks to your help.

I do wish RetroArch had a hotkey to restart back to the DosBox menu with one click.

For me going up to "MOUNT T7G2.cue" > "Enter" worked. Then scroll all the way down until you get to the d:\ (CD-Rom) files. Select the path with "install.exe"

Great!  It's working.  Thanks for the help with this.

I think I was either mounting or running files from the wrong disc.

After going through this, I can really see the value of ExoDos and that it simplifies all this for you.  But I wanted the features and shaders of Retroarch.  I'm sure once I run through this process a few times it will be easy.  I just have to think of it as installing games from the physical copies, like we used to.

Anyway... thanks again for the help, and hanging in there until I got it working.

No you use the Export to Android tool, but you use the zip it creates on your PC. You don't have to use it on an Android device

Ok... so the Exodos import zips the game.  Would the Export to Android give me a different zip file?

    -Set T7G.bat to autostart.

To go back to the Dosbox Pure file selection screen press F1 to go into the Quick Menu. Them Shift + Restart.

Thanks for the reply.  I was trying to go down this path, but I just tried again.  I keep running into the same problem that it closes back to the RA menu.  It almost seems like there is something wrong with the mounting process, but it's really beyond me.

*edit*  C-Beats... thanks for the reply... I'm actually using a PC and not an Android device.

  16. Having some trouble loading a CD game in DosBox Pure.  I'm testing this with 7th Guest from the ExoDos 5 collection.  When I get to the initial screen to select a soundcard, the game then crashes back to the Retroarch menu with no core loaded.

I have the game zipped in one file (same structure as it came from ExoDos), I have extraction turned off in the LB platform.  Non-CD games are launching properly in DosBox Pure.  The 7th Guest game will launch properly in normal DosBox (but I want the Pure and RA shader features).

If anyone can help me out with this, I appreciate it.  Thanks.
