FistyDollars said Freestate said Well, i have to point an issue attached to this conquest madness, i understand the point on the contest is to manage the bunch of contributions of this days BUTTTT!! i see obviously that acording to seeking the prize the moderation is been a disaster and a next-next-next-clicking madness only to achieve the prize. By mistake i upload a widescreen fanart as disc image and SURPRISE ! 3 moderators aprove it. Without a system to audit good moderation the result of this contest is auto-accept entries like a robot. I agree that there should be a way to delete a change you've submitted without having to wait for it to be moderated. HOWEVER; as for the claims that the top moderators are auto-clicking robots seeking the prize? First off, I already have a forever license, and have had one since before Jason raised the price - if I win, I'm giving it to a friend of mine who's been jealous of my frontend setup for a while, but it's hardly a motivator. Secondly, and Brad/Jason can back me up on this, I've been trying to stay on top of the queue since moderation launched, well before the contest, and honestly the whole reason I've become more active on the forums was because of the feeling of belonging here that being a moderator gave me. Third, I do this because I genuinely enjoy it. I LOVE finding out (and then researching for confirmation) things about games I didn't know existed, or were released on platforms I never saw as a child. Sure, sometimes it gets a little grindy, but the interesting stuff you can find in the queue is totally worth it to me. Obviously I can't speak for anyone else, but as the guy currently in 1st, I just wanted you to know where I'm coming from. I totally agree. Since moderating my backlog of games is huge. Thanks guy with the million of strategy titles I have never heard of xD Also the Japanese stuff is really challenging and interesting. About my motivations: I currently have a private database in use with about 3000 games in it (mostly adventures) and I love lists and oldgames. I've contributed many databases but never had the feeling of being a real part of a team. This is different and I really enjoy spending 2-3 hours a day for this cause. (I'm more of a dos guy but never stop learning about new platforms) I'm not the heavy user of launchbox, but the database mixed with collections and goals to play games is my way to go. And I hope in the future I can look for games, add them to my backlog, find games based on my interesent by comparing ratings to other users and more. There are so many possibilities. Hope this gets big!

Good Job Fistydollars. It's not even possible to reach you. I just come online clear the queue and that's it for the day and I imagine that's the same you do. So we're stuck at the same position together. =)

SentaiBrad said I don't add anything, it's all Jason. If something happens that's all Jason. Until we have proper parental controls Jason and I will need to manually delete the nudity. Being a moderator means you guys need to follow the guidelines, and a portion of you are not. We know who rejects and accepts what. I meant in the guidelines :D

FistyDollars said SentaiBrad said I would like to remind everyone to try and follow the Guidelines as best as possible. I requested the deletion of two image with nudity and someone rejected those. Those need to be accepted. Just had a similar issue when I was going through the arcade flyers for some "Adult" arcade games and flagging anything with nudity for deletion - 0 approvals, 2 rejections so far, and I assume that the deletion will be rejected. I don't personally even agree with the nudity policy, but if it's the policy, I'll do my damnedest to make sure it's enforced; but I can't do that if other mods don't follow the rules. We really need to have the ability to leave comments when requesting deletion of content. And again... I marked 2 Nude images for deletion The Joy of Sex & Miss World '96 Joy of Sex has 2 approved 2 rejections and Miss World 96 1 approval 3 rejections... @Sentai I think you added the merging of systems =)

Feel free to add me =) http://steamcommunity.com/id/cebion/

FistyDollars That's why I talked about Quality Insurance. Clicking accept to get as many moderations as possible is not good moderating. I nave seen your request. Visible bare breast, it is very clear to me. Not even bad visibilty. I mean I accept girls in bikinis but this is to much =)

That's why we're discussing it here. We're still at the beginning but many challenges lay ahead :D @CADScott I really like the idea of skipping titles, I do sometimes wish to moderate games when I'm on the go. So when a new title change comes I can't do these because they take time to look all the infos up. But single entries are perfectly fine to look up on the go =) At first agree with you, that we don't need to see the rejections reasons from other mods too make the moderation process as accurate as possible. BUT we need to make a line here. We want to optimize the moderation process and make the jobs for the mods easier. The submitters already have their reasons for rejections and only need their comments upon submitting then its done. From the Moderator site it's not quite that easy. We DO need insight about moderations. And I agree there with @Sentai Sure I don't care who made the moderation before me but in the long term we need quality assurance in some kind or another. Also at the moment I get an item in my queue and I don't know wether other mods have questions about it or not. If yes maybe we could answer questions and the items goes back to the beginning of the queue etc. I mean we had the troubles with some submitters who had a really good will and then made a mistake which they didn't think mattered that much but we were clueless of who it was. @Jason I think to make the moderation process fast and accurate we need a mix of all the good stuff. Maybe: An item comes in I do see a) The current Status of the Item how much it has been rejected or accepted but not by whom. b) Comments or Questions by other mods. I'd really like to have an option to escalate certain item when I see something the other mods missed, so it won't be approved with false data. Finally one thing that bothers me with the new game entries is that I can't reject single items within the new game. Sure I can accept it with 1-2 wrong data fields. But after I accept it doesn't mean the other mods will and I'd have to remember the names and come back later to make the changes. And that ain't efficency. Again @Jason @Sentai and the rest. Thanks for all the good work I really like working with you!

Nice! I'm more excited every day. Next step would be to see who submitted and how the current change status is for the current title and what others Mods have written about it. Keep up the good work @jason

Resolved - Moderation "Runtime Error" - Issue #???
Cebion replied to FistyDollars's topic in Troubleshooting
FistyDollars said Yup, I just started up again, and it is BLAZINGLY fast. Love it! Thats just plain crazy how fast the moderation now is. I waited almost half a minute or so to load the next game. Now it's almost instant! Thanks @jason -
Jason Carr said Hey all, just fixed some performance issues with the moderation. Let me know if anyone is still seeing any delays or errors with the moderation process. As of right now, here are the top moderators: 1. FistyDollars 2. HardcoreHubz 3. Cebion 4. CADScott 5. Darklesh 6. TheTabman 7. wkLeon 8. wobblyrampack 9. SentaiBrad 10. donarumo Thank you all! :) Man! I wasn't home for a few days! Edit: After moderating a LOT. I feel that 25 successful submissions are way to easy. I mean i can just enter 2 new games and some screenshots some games and i'll get in 10 minutes moderator rights. There is for example one submitter who has some good data but most are really inaccurate in terms of wrong publisher because of different release year and system. He made about 15 good submissions in a row now and about 5 mistakes but these mistakes are huge. I think in the future we need a quality insurance program for our mods

Resolved - Moderation "Runtime Error" - Issue #???
Cebion replied to FistyDollars's topic in Troubleshooting
Yep lng loadingtimes for me aswell. -
We'll I'm talking about companies not persons. I.e. Adventure International is listed as Publisher but not as Developer.
-
Second this. You may add this to the bitbucket page. https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/issues/9/extra-genres I'd also love to see genres like point and click, text-adventure etc.
-
I'm starting to add some obscure games but many of the developers aren't in the database yet. What should be the policy of this one? Shall the user gain the right to add developers?
-
Very good. Looks really good @Jason
-
I just moderated my first new game. So we got the 3 options accept, refuse if already available and too much bad information. But what if only one or two informations are incorrect?

The multiplayer modes are a great idea Jason.
