  1. @lordmonkus I definitely appreciate your help though. Even though you didn't know much about rocketlauncher, you had good thoughts and input. I appreciate the help guys!
  2. @kmoney +1 rep Kmoney!. That fixed it. What's strange is that I've always had that "show loading game message" ticked on and it worked just fine. Oh well, i'm just glad it works now. I was having a meltdown about my overlays and all of that stuff lol. You saved the day! Thanks!
  3. Thanks for the quick response! Usually I use beta builds but I am currently using the stable build 7.11 I tried running one of my systems that doesn't go through rocketlauncher and it turns out that RL is the problem. I don't believe I updated RL but it seems to not like the bigbox UI but will play well with the Launchbox UI. Maybe there is something I can do to fix it. My setup relies quite a bit on rocketlauncher since i have overlays that need to be system and game specific and I really like the RL loading screen instead of the boring launchbox loading screen for those games that take a long time to uncompress. Anyhow, Thanks for the help!
  4. Hi guys! Usually I can figure out some kind of idea of what to do but here, i'm completely stumped. My issue (which recently started happening out of no where) is that bigbox no longer starts my games. I open the games menu, hit play, and it says that it's loading but just sits there and then the dialog goes away. So normally I would check Rocketlauncher since I run everything through that but rocketlauncher runs everything successfully. After checking that, I checked if it will run via Launchbox's desktop interface. Which the game will run when clicking play in the Launchbox desktop gui. But when I try to load the game through bigbox, it just says loading then hangs until the dialog goes away and nothing happens. Any ideas on why bigbox's gui doesn't work but launchbox's gui works? -I haven't updated rocketlauncher or launchbox. I don't recall making any changes to anything actually. -My current setup is that I have Bigbox opening rocketlauncher as an emulator, then rocketlauncher opens retroarch. -I tried loading a game that doesn't use retroarch also and had no luck as well. Sorry, I'm checking more things as i'm currently writing this lol. Thanks for the help guys!
  5. Definitely looking forward to this releasing. I'm not sure how you would be able to but, it would be cool if the games view would have the console and have a cartridge in the console. I know a few people were working on something like that in Hyperspin but, I think something like that would be an awesome addition to this theme. anyway, nice work!
  6. @Jason Carr Awesome! Thanks for the response!
  7. Hi, I'm still kind of new to this and I'm trying to add carts to my themes TextGamesView. I can add it to where it is a static image using: <Image Source="{Binding Path=SelectedGame.CartFrontImagePath}" Grid.Row="6" Grid.Column="16" Grid.ColumnSpan="4" Grid.RowSpan="3" Panel.ZIndex="100" Margin="10,0,10,0"/> now, The problem is that it looks funny since everything else comes in with the Transition Presenter and this is just a static Image. I was wondering if there is a way to use that path with the Transition Presenter. I've tried a couple of different ways to get this in the Transition Presenter ie: <transitions:TransitionPresenter Grid.Row="6" Grid.Column="16" Grid.ColumnSpan="4" Grid.RowSpan="4" TransitionSelector="{Binding ImageTransitionSelector}" Content="{Binding path=SelectedGame.CartFrontImagePath}" Panel.ZIndex="100" Margin="10,0,10,0"/> With that, I just get text instead of an actual image. The other thing I tried was making another Resource that matched ImagesView and called it ImageCartView then replaced it to use SelectedGame.CartFrontImagePath and change my code in TextGamesView to: <transitions:TransitionPresenter Grid.Row="6" Grid.Column="16" Grid.ColumnSpan="4" Grid.RowSpan="4" TransitionSelector="{Binding ImageTransitionSelector}" Content="{Binding ImageCartView}" Panel.ZIndex="100" Margin="10,0,10,0"/> But that did nothing as well... Is there something I'm missing here? Till then, I'll just use the static image without the transition presenter. Thanks for any help!
  8. For me, there are a lot of games that I have played as a kid and want. I don't have to have all of the games but, there are a lot of games I can remember playing, growing up, and I don't know the name of the game. So I mostly get all of the games for the days I want to just scroll through the games and go on a Journey through time on gaming. I also have a curiosity of systems i've never played before like the Vectrex and Turbografix-16. It is quite taxing on space though and time consuming. I have about 4.5TB on my 5TB HDD. But, I do have the privilege of just being able to play anything i've heard about. I just love gaming and want everything.
  9. Yeah I bumped into the same bug when manually adding a game. I kept getting the error when trying to add a platform without any games that doesn't have a database for it. I ended up adding the game in a different way though. When I get home, I'll try and create the problem again.
  10. CriticalCid said Yeah, they are just normal .mp4 videos. I recorded the themes in HyperSpin with Fraps and edited/rendered the videos as .mp4 files. My theme is basically just a gigantic preview video screen ;) Jason also said that he plans to do background videos, on this way it would be pretty easy to use 16:9 themes in full screen as well. Btw. I love your cinematic themes, would be definitely nice to see more of those :) Nice! That's pretty much exactly how my hyperspin themes were. I just made the videos and converted them to flash. I can't wait for the background video update now!!! I have been thinking about all sorts of ideas on how to construct the themes! And thanks so much for the kind words! It definitely helps get me get motivated to make more themes! I am going to be pretty dedicated to making themes in Launchbox.
  11. SentaiBrad said All of these should be routed through Arcade / MAME for the Platform, except that it is currently bugged and it wont import any games. We already know about the bug and platform changes are coming. These requests should go in our LaunchBox Games Database BitBucket (the BitBucket link at the top of the Database pages). There have already been a few requests too, so vote on ones that already exist first then make your requests if it doesn't exist. CriticalCid said @SentaiBrad No, you don't need the MAME importer because Taito Type X games don’t follow the name conventions of MAME. You can rename the game folder to anything you want. They are basically just PC games and don't get emulated, so there's no need to follow any arcade emulation rules like 8 characters long names and such @Retro956 If you do it the way as angelobodetti said you should be fine. Yeah, I just manually made a system for it and added them all by hand and used the Wiki database. Launchbox is still in the early days and I need to give it some time lol. I just get excited and eager for the updates and the database to have everything lol. Also, @CriticalCid , Did you just use MP4's for the themes that you ported over? If that's the case, I might continue doing my themes for this program or create some new ones. I really like the native theme, Like really really like them, but if they work in MP4, I don't really see a reason not to bring them over to this program.
  12. I am trying to add some more games to my launchbox but, it turns out there isn't a platform for the Taito Type X. I'm a little surprised it isn't on here already since it has games like Street Fighter IV, Blazeblu, and King of Fighter XIII.
  13. SentaiBrad said When you imported your Arcade games, it should have popped up with a special MAME importer with checkboxes and region selectors. If you left it at default it should be about 1k games, where as there are 4k games otherwise. That is a more popular game and there should be art for it, though not every game does yet. When you right click and edit the game is it associated to a LaunchBox Games Database ID in the top right if the edit page? It should be a blue link there if it is and should lead to the Database. If there is art there then it didn't download for some reason. If there is no page, that means we don't have it for some reason, and for some reason neither did EmuMovies. If it does have a LaunchBox Games ID but no images, you can download that specific games art in the edit screen, or bulk download them again with the Tools -> Download Metadata and Images after you Ctrl + A all of your Arcade games. ^^ Yeah, what they said! I should have checked the forum for an answer. I ended up not checking the box for MAMEmetadata to be forced when adding roms and I thought I couldn't do it. SO, I ended up having to separate my originals from my clones using .BAT files. It took like 4 hours of 1500 lines of code... I should have figured I was doing something wrong lol.
  14. bundangdon said The answer is a very enthusiastic "yes" and I say this because it was one of the features I requested, and it was recently added :) Go to your images - platforms - Atari 7800 - Fanart folder (for example) and put any image there. Whenever there isn't any corresponding fanart available for an individual game, the image you put there will be set as the default background. Just make sure that the size of the image is large enough to fit your monitor (usually 1920x1080) or it will be stretched to fit Awsome! Thanks so much. I'm so glad I'm using this now instead of hyperspins buggy mess that doesn't get fixed. I'm glad to that these guys update often and actually listen to their fanbase! Can't wait to see what happens in the future!
  15. Is there a way to set a default fanart per platform for BigBox mode? I really like the way this mode looks when it has fanart backgrounds behind it. The default Black background looks empty and makes it look like it's missing something. Sorry if this has already been brought up or answered. I recently abandoned Hyperspin for this program! Keep up the great work!
  16. Hi, I am been surfing around in the forum and can't seem to find any answer to this.. I'm trying to add an overlay per system with Retroarch (ie: Atari 2600 4:3 graphics to cover the black bars with 16:9 screens). I'm coming from the hyperspin world and there is a setting per system where you can chose your overlay. I can't seem to find this type of button or find something to add to the command line to force it to show up per system. I hope I'm being clear enough. Thanks! EDIT: Nvm, I found out that I can just use rocketlauncher. I will just use this since I already have it completely configured.
