aaaaaand another update:

I made 55 new NES Backgrounds and added them as "NES_Backgrounds_Part5.zip".

This pack contains Backgrounds for all TMNT Games, Faxanadu, both Power Blade games and many more.

I feel like I was spaming, but I just released my NeoGeo Background Packs.

It's been split into 3 Parts and contains Backgrounds for 155 Games!

It also comes with a Replacement for the System Backgrounds for "SNK Classics" and "SNK NeoGeo MVS".

For all Games I used the Launchbox ID's for the Arcade Platform, but there are a few exceptions that don't have an Arcade ID

(for example "NeoGeo Double Dragon" doesn't have it's own Arcade ID and gets mixed up with the original Double Dragon game).

In those cases I used the SNK NeoGeo AES ID's.

Next release is uploaded.

This time I added a pack that includes Capcom CPS2 and CPS3 games.

It comes with a total of 42 Backgrounds.

I also had to include replacement Platform Backgrounds for "Capcom Play System II" and "Capcom Play System III" to make the Game Backgrounds work.

On windows I use https://pngquant.org/PNGoo.0.1.1.zip to compress the PNG and it works great. You can also download other programs that use this compression on this site:

The background folder for CPS1 has changed from 80mb to 16mb. It's a nice space saving and the images don't lose quality

I tried the tool and I am sad to say that there still is quality loss when compressing. There always will be when you compress any form of media.

CPS1 Game Backgrounds are done and uploaded!

It comes with 30 game themes and hopefully covers all CPS1 games.

I also had to include 3 Platform Backgrounds as replacements in order for those Game Backgrounds to work, since all Arcade Platform Backgrounds that come with Retrotastic have characters crossing over the video border.

The Platforms that will get a replacement with this pack are "Arcade"; "Capcom Classics"; "Capcom Play System".

I have started working on Capcom CPS1 Games.

When the first pack is done it, will also come with Platform Backgrounds for Arcade, Capcom Classics aswell as Capcom CPS1 which won't have any artwork crossing the video border.

It includes Background for all released 32X games (including EU only "DarXide" and Jap only "Sangokushi IV")

+ Backgrounds for the 32X Prototypes of "Soulstar X", "Virtua Hamster" and "X-Men"

I just updated the NES Backrounds Pack with Part 3. Those include 48 new Backrounds such as the Ninja Gaiden Games, Nintendo World Cup and more.

Right now I basicly working on all the NES Games that also have a theme in Hyperspin so I can delete the NES Theme Videos from my harddrive to create more space. After I am done with NES, I will start working on other Platforms and do the same there. Would be nice if someone else chips in on doing themes so we can get more backrounds faster.

Ok, I just uploaded the NES Backgrounds I made as Packs.

I went with the uncompressed versions of the Backgrounds, since compressing them sometimes are giving them artifacts that they didn't have in the uncompressed version.

Yes I was thinking of making a pack download. I want to make a few more backgrounds first though. There are still some classic NES Games missing.

Here are the next NES Backgrounds. I wanted to have different Backgrounds for Punch-Out and Mike Tyson's Punchout, so I redid fearan's Punch-Out background with some slight changes (for example changing the game logo to "Mike Tyson's Punch-Out) and gave it the Launchbox ID for the Mike Tyson Version.

Also I made 2 Versions of Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3 Backgrounds, one goes with the Artwork in the Game folder that come with Retrotastic and one Version if you delete the Artwork in the game folder.
