  1. Launchbox is great at showing us which roms we have, but as far as I'm aware it does not show us missing roms from a platform. Is it possible to scan a platform and compare it to a full rom set to see which elusive roms we do not have? Anybody else think that would be useful?
  2. So was I a few months ago, that's why I knew what your problem was
  3. Have you set the correct file path to the Dreamcast rom? When scanning for added roms, it will default to looking at the launchbox folder. If your ROMs are elsewhere you will need to change the path first. Tools ---> Manage Platforms ---> Select Dreamcast and then EDIT ---> Click on folders tab. First option should be "games", now just browse to your rom folder. Now you can use the "scan for added roms" feature.
  4. I have been buying usb controllers for most of my emulated systems. I thought you could save controller configs on a per core basis, but it looks like this has changed in recent RetroArch updates. Is it possible to create a config file for each core with the appropriate controller mapped. Then get launchbox to load the correct config via command line when launching a game?
  5. Didn't even occur to me. Thank you
  6. I've added a Media platform to launchbox. Adding apps found on microsoft store was easy enough (Plex, Kodi, Deezer, 4OD etc). There are no apps for ITV hub, BBC iplayer or amazon tv. Is it possible to add them, link them to launch Chrome, but point it to individual urls depending on the app required?
  7. Thanks Rincewind. Already some tickets so voted and all in hand.
  8. Since making this past I have seen there are a few tickets for this error. I'm sure Jason is aware and a fix will be along, but I expect launchbox takes up the majority of his time ?
  9. I have synced my collection to the cloud, but when I attempt to view it I get "Could not retrieve filter values: Internal server error" This has worked for me previously. Is the down for everyone or just my account? Thanks
  10. I wouldn't say RetroArch was intuitive, but runs so many platforms that it's worth starting with it.
  11. Started with NES. Then added others that would also use retro arch so similar set up, ie Master system/Megadrive/Sega32X/Neo-Geo/N64/PS1/SNES/Atari 2600/Atari 7800/PC Engine/Capcom PSII. Then Mame for arcade games. Dolphin for gamecube. PCSX2 for PS2. Daphne for the Laserdisc stuff. PPSSPP for PSP. Sega Model 2 and Supermodel for the Sega Model arcades. Spectaculator for Spectrum. I'm going to try DeSuME for the nintendo ds this weekend. You can throw together a system pretty quickly once you get going. I have upgraded to Big Box, but stuck with LB for a while why I was deciding if I liked it. Get everything working in LB before committing to BB.
  12. I'm coming from a similar place. I built a games machine at Christmas. Gave LB a short look.....imported some games but didn't get them to run. Moved to Hyperspin and made progress but it was slow. Realising how much time Hyperspin was going to take to get to grips with I had another look at LB. Followed the guide above and all went well. It really is easy to use once you have imported a few platforms. The support on here has been excellent too. Do give it a try at the weekend and if you run into any problems then post on here. Good Luck.
  13. Found it. If anybody else is ever as stupid as me: Tools ---->Options------->Advanced-------->Miscellaneous
  14. The Escape key can now be configured to exit Spectaculator rather than sending CAPS+SPACE to the virtual Spectrum. Can anybody point me in the right direction to configure this? I'm sure it's easy but can't find the option in the menu's.
  15. I've recently configured launchbox to run PS2 games with PCSX2. Slowly adding ROMs as I go. I'm adding the roms as .iso.gz files to save on space. Every time a new game is run it creates a .tmp file. I understand that's necessary, but everytime I try to scan the folder for new ROMs it will see these files and try to import these as games as well. Is it possible to add a filter to the scan to disregard .tmp files? Sorry if this has been covered before.
