  1. Sweet, will try it out now, great work Jason, this in an awesome feature to have, to be able to see when a theme is updated has been quite cumbersome in the past, now (soon) we can update with the push of a button, from within the interface, yay!

OK, i just checked and i was getting the same. How i got around it was by putting in the Japanese name, so,

    Biohazard RE:2

When i did that it found it and automatically renamed it to Resident Evil 2.

Thanks, that worked! I tried searching for Biohazard but that didn't work. You have to search for Biohazard RE for it to show up. Doesn't really make sense :)

  3. Merry Christmas Jason and many thanks for Launchbox & Bigbox, I find it very enjoyable to tinker with them to get an awesome setup, it's on my main computer now so i'ts not really usable in that sense, but when I do get a dedicated computer I'm really looking forward to having BigBox running, and just playing games!

If nothing is selected there, that's the problem. Just make sure you check fanart - background.

Yay, that did it, thanks for the quick reply Jason! Would never have figured that out!

Check your background priorities settings in the LaunchBox options.

Nothing is selected there, I don't think I've unticked them. What does the setting do?

Edit: my bad, noticed you just tick them to change the order. Fanart Background was pretty far down, I'll try and move it up, to the top?

The Big Box background fade setting is currently used in the startup screens, regardless of whether you're running it from LaunchBox or Big Box. We might change that though because I know it's confusing.

Yeah, perhaps :) I tried with 0 and 40 % now (was on 70%), still no fan art :(

We might be able to add this in at some point, but unfortunately it won't make the next release. I thought about that during development, but I think the use case of it is just too rare to focus on it for the time being.

Check your Big Box Background Fade setting; it might be set to 100%.

Haven't tried from BB, only from Launchbox, it's not the same?

  8. Startup Screens look awesome, wow! However, I can't seem to get any fan art to load on them? I've tried the two available themes, using this one now

Any ideas why my fan art isn't showing? Because I do have fan art for most of my games.

Beta 5 is out now with hopes that it will solve the lag that a handful of people are still experiencing with controllers. Nothing else is added or changed in this beta, but there have been some significant tweaks to the Big Box code, so testing is appreciated. :)

BigBox def feels smoother, I can scroll pretty fast now without hickup! Well done Jason!

You can try setting your Aspect Ratio slider to a higher setting but that has its own side effects so you will have to find a balance that you find acceptable.

Alright, changed to 0.80, it's def better but from what I can remember it didn't look like this in old LB?

  11. Cool theme Lordmonkus, trying it out now! Looks better than default. I do have one issue I can't seem to solve that started with Next (not regarding your theme). And every platform that has horizontal boxes have huge spacing between them, like this. Vertical boxes look great now!

    My settings are as follows.

    Any ideas?

I wonder if the media size slider function could be improved. Currently it simply increases or deceases the size of the media in the main window. This means that the user has to manually fiddle with it to get the size correct in order to fill the available space. I would argue that you would never need or want to have any "wasted" space in the main window - so the size slider should "jump" to the next particular size that fills the available space. Hope this makes sense.

I get what you're saying and I agree, would make it easier to change sizes without having to find that sweet spot!

  13. Hey! Just signed up for Emumovies to complete my collection with beautiful videos!

    However, I'm having some problems.

I want to download the maximum available quality from Emumovies, and there are currently three options, LQ HQ and HD.

Some systems, like Wii for instance have a lot of snaps available in HD (1920x1080). But Launchbox is not picking any of them up, despite choosing only HD in the Metadata wizard, and it's missing many games even if I choose tick HQ as well.

    Any ideas?

My folder names for Wii look like this, and Xenoblade Chronicles [SX4E01] and the filenames, Xenoblade Chronicles [SX4E01].wbfs

For instance, Xenoblade Chronicles did download a HQ video, but not HD, although it's available.

Donkey Kong Country Returns look like this, and it did download a HQ video.

Folder name: Donkey Kong Country Returns [SF8E01]

    File name: SF8E01.wbfs

But Epic Mickey that look like this did not download anything.

Folder name: Disney Epic Mickey [SEMP4Q]

    File name: SEMP4Q.wbfs

What happens if I tick both HQ and HD, is HD prioritized before HQ?

Edit: Tried renaming Epic Mickey folder and file name to just Epic Mickey but that didn't find anything either.

I can download the snaps available in HD from the FTP and edit manually, but I have a lot of Wii games, and it would take quite some time!

    Thanks!
