  1. @BioHazZzard @Odio and everyone else who wants an RVZ DAT, if I were to make a RVZ DAT, which option would you suggest I build the DAT from?

    1. Convert Redump-approved GC ISOs to the default RVZ settings in Dolphin (Block Size - 128KB, Compression Type - ZStandard, Compression Level - 5) and put those RVZ file hashes into the DAT OR
    2. Build it from the custom DAT on the No-Intro website as the base.
  2. @Odio Sadly, the DAT will only support ISO for 3 reasons:

    1. Launchbox doesn't detect cheevos for RVZ format, only ISO.
    2. The official Redump DAT uses ISO, not RVZ.
    3. RVZ has the same issue as CHD with DATs. The file hash values are different, depending on the conversion settings used in Dolphin (Block size and compression level), so you would need RVZ files created with the same settings as what's in the DAT to prevent false results which can become a drag. Therefore, I won't be doing a RVZ DAT and I recommend using the DAT to scan Redump ISOs and once you confirm that they are all correct, use Dolphin to convert them manually.

  3. Thanks Odio. It's been corrected. For alternate file types; unless the official no-intro and/or redump DATs change or add new file types themselves, sadly I won't be doing that. The problem with CHDs is the file hash values are different based on the version of chdman that's used to do the conversion AFAIK so unless chdman stops getting updated/changed, the CHDs will continue to have different hash values than what's in my DATs which will continue to be a pain in the ass for everyone.

    Thanks. This has been corrected.

Additionally, Amazon's Running Diet for the NES has different Checksums to the posted hash by the devs, which also includes the direct download link (As it was freely distributed)

So basically the versions of this rom that are available on the RA website are outdated and not a part of the latest official No-Intro NES DAT anymore. The 2 versions that are in my DAT are in the official NES DAT and are also compatible with cheevos.

Oh, I see, I will have to shake my fist at RA themselves then

Lol yeah pretty much. However, the devs say they might consider splitting NES and FDS into 2 separate platforms when the FDS DevJam rolls out so hopefully they'll consider splitting Wonderswan and Color, Neo Geo Pocket and Color and MSX and MSX2 into separate platforms when those DevJams roll out as well.

One small suggestion, Although RA doesn't actually distinguish between them (for some reason) the WonderSwan set encompasses both the WonderSwan and the WonderSwan Color, and while much like the Game Boy and the Game Boy Color, some games for the latter can be played on the former, I believe it would be for the best to split that into two separate DATs

I'm a bit confused as to what you're trying to say/suggest. I made 1 DAT for both platforms because both platforms are merged together on the RA website, the same RetroArch Core is used to play both platforms and if you import all the games into the "Wonderswan" platform on LaunchBox, then the achievement scan will detect them all as cheevo compatible whereas none of them will be detected if you import them into the "Wonderswan Color" platform. RA is a bit finicky with Wonderswan/Color, Neo Geo Pocket/Color and MSX/MSX2 in that regard, I must admit.

  7. So with the cues, in v1.x I renamed the bin file names in them and as a result, their hash values were different from unedited redump cues and since downloading redump roms would give you redump cues with redump hash values, they wouldn't work well with the 1.x dats. v2.x DATs will have unedited redump cues and hash values so they will work with downloaded redump roms immediately. With Arcade, I simply download arcade roms that have the same name as the linked roms on the RA site and use LB to check if they have cheevos and then use Dir2Dat with clrmamepro to create a DAT with those roms. However I may need to look at arcade DATs a bit since they're different from other platforms such as romset versions etc.

  8. Hi @supermodio64. The current release only has English language games and some of the linked roms in the current release might not even be the "Best" ones like I wanted initially.. V2.x will have every version and region/language linked rom and you can choose which languages/regions you want and don't want. No alternatives that I know of ATM.

    My Room

Awesome theme. However the game/platform name text is missing if I don't have clear logos to use over text and the video location on the handheld default view is out of place. Also, If anyone is getting a black background instead of the room background, change the theme folder name from "My_Room_v1.0" to "My Room" and the room backgrounds will show.

  9. @Clutz450LOL yip i'm doing it all manually. So what I do is I download the latest nointro/redump DATs and I go to the supported game files page of every single game on RA and I copy the md5 that is below each linked rom name and search for it in the official DATs using notepad++. If the game md5 exists in the official DATs, I copy and paste the entire game entry from the official DATs over to my DATs. If it doesn't exist, I create a new game entry in my DATs and once I find/patch the correct rom(s), I compare the md5 on the RA site to the rom I found/patched and complete the blanks (size, crc and sha1) in my DATs. It is a VERY time consuming process, especially for platforms with hundreds of games, but is the most accurate way I can think of.
