Mine doesn't have that for some reason. What version are you running?
-
Every time I read the intro pop up screen, I see that it says to access LaunchBox.Next, click on the "LaunchBox.Next button in the header". Where is the header because I don't see that button anywhere.
Right now, I'm on LaunchBox 8.4-beta-9.
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks!

doesn't require any command line you just need the don't use quotes checkbox checked and the use file names only without extensions checkbox checked and the CPS 3 emulator should work through LB
Worked!!! I guess I didn't try everything after all, haha!! Thanks so much!!

Hi there,
Does anyone know what command to use when launching CPS3 games from Launchbox? The reason I ask is because every time I launch a game, it opens up the emulator, but doesn't access any of the game files I have. I've tried "-f -g", nothing. I've tried checking different boxes, nothing. I watched ETA PRIME's video on how Retroarch plays CPS3 games, none of them work.
What the heck am I missing? Hahah!!

@Flintz to set up controllers you must do it in game, make sure your controller is connected, open up emulator.exe then go emulator tab and load rom see screenshotonce game has launched press the escape button this will minimise Capcom Play System 3 Emulator now click on game tab and then Controller config which will open up this window
now click on each entry and press corresponding key on controller, remember controller must be connected otherwise emulator exe is liable to freeze.
@DOS76 Thanks for easier way to launch roms I've always being using the bat method for this emulator now i finally can get rid of using them, added bonus now it will close using the esc key instead of having to alt+f4. still learning new things LOL.
So THAT'S what happened to me. I don't believe my controller was initially connected through Bluetooth before I opened up the emulator. I'll make sure I do that before opening it.
Thanks again @Maddoc1007 for all the help!

It's been so long since I set it up I don't remember I think maybe my 360 controllers auto config but I could be way off.
Ahh ok. I'll try to figure it out. At least it's working now though thanks to you and @Maddoc1007

I always leave my ROMs where they are that is where the emulator looks for them by default in most arcade situations.
I actually got it working!! Thanks so much!!
Now, how do I configure the controls? It won't let me do so unless a game is running. Then when I do, it freezes. Weird...

Ok, I'll give this a shot!
Should I copy the roms over to LB or use them at their current location?

Ok, thanks!!

It's already that name. I didn't display the extensions in Windows Explorer.
Hey man, don't worry about it. I feel bad for keeping you up and I don't want to take any more of your time. I really do appreciate the help though! Thanks!!

and just to make sure it works i put my emulator and bats in a different directory and just changed the address of where the emulator was like i showed you in the bat and clicked on the new bat and it worked perfectly
Yep, mine don't work still. I still get the same error message that the files are missing.
Yeah, those are all .zip files. I just use WinRAR to extract them.

Ok, I'll double check. I just extracted all of the .bat files and changed their directory to reflect my set up.
Just to make sure, in Launchbox, you DON'T choose an emulator, correct? You leave it blank?

@Flintz when you open the emulator itself by clicking on its exe, then click on Emulator and then load rom you'll see that what the roms should be named which is exactly the same as what i had the bats named see screenshot
Ok, I'll double check. I just extracted all of the .bat files and changed their directory to reflect my set up.

@Flintz You should not have renamed the bat files at all they need to be named as i had them the names of the games
Ok, I still have your original file, so I'll just extract them again and then configure them to match my paths for the emulator.

@Flintz the roms have to be inside the emulators folder it even states that in the ini file or they wont work the emulator will not be able to find them
They are. They are in the "roms" folder within the emulator folder.

@Flintz have you set the paths as i stated earlier put the roms and the bats inside the emulator folder in a folder called roms (lower case) and make sure you change the paths properly pointing to the emulator see the underlined bits
cd /d "C:\Users\PC\Documents\LaunchBox\Emulators\cps3emulator"
start "Emulator" "C:\Users\PC\Documents\LaunchBox\Emulators\cps3emulator\emulator.exe" %~n0Yep, I did exactly that. I had to configure each bat file and then rename it to the zip file name so they matched.

@Flintz Well if its working outside LaunchBox it should work fine, open one of the bat folders and click on it does it launch the game answer quick or i wont be able to reply as it extremely early in the morning here and i need some sleep
Nothing works now for some reason. I double click and it tells me that the roms are missing.

@Flintz I bet it is because you are missing the roms corresponding .chd files for each game which should be in a folder inside the emulator called CHD the chd's needed are 3ga000.chd, 33s000.chd, cap-33s-2.chd, cap-jjk-160.chd, jjk000.chd, jjm000.chd, sf3000.chd, wzd000.chd.
Whaaaaaaat??
Well, I just ran Red Earth OUTSIDE of Launchbox without issues.
-
By the way @lordmonkus I tried running Retroarch FBA with the roms v0.182 and it didn't even open.
Why me?? Hahah!
-
Just tried it and the emulator opens, but the games don't run. I just get a black screen. .zip files are in the folder, .bat files are in the game named folders and I change the path in all the .bat files to match the location of where my emulator is.
Not sure what's going on here.

@Flintz When you follow my instructions your CPS3 folder should look like this see screen shot,i would place all the Rom inside a folder called roms inside the CPS3 emulator folder
In the folders where the .bat files are, do you have the corresponding .zip file in there as well? Or is it just the .bat file with the .zip files on the outside?
