  1. I checked the ROMS, they are running for the correct emulator and core. Let me clarify further. Every single console in Launchbox are using the Retroarch emulator with their respective core. They all used to run fine in Launchbox, I tested them. Now some consoles such as Gameboy are not. Every single ROM for Gameboy is using the correct emulator and core. I checked multiple times, same issue for TG16 and Playstation. The bios files are still there, Launchbox doesn't show any missing cores. I can run those exact same ROMS under Retroarch just fine, they launch immediately. So I deleted Retroarch from Launchbox and added it again. I had to use the bulk editing tool to reassign all the ROMS and I checked that they are assigned to Retroarch. I even deleted Retroarch itself and reinstalled it using the latest version. I updated all the cores, assets from within Retroarch...still same issue. Not sure I can clarify that any better.
  2. That can't be since they used to run fine in Launchbox and still run fine when ran directly from an emulator.
  3. It's still not running certain systems. For example if I run Gameboy directly under Retroarch and select the Gambatte core, it runs perfect. If I set up lunchbox to run Retroarch using Gambatte, it won't do anything when I click play. Same issue for TG 16, etc. It doesn't matter what core I change it to either. It used to run just fine but I don't play that often. So not sure if the latest update screwed it up or if it stopped working at some other point but at one time, everything ran fine as I tested several roms from each system. So it's not Retroarch, it's something to do with how lunchbox is launching them? I had this issue twice on seperate occasions before a while back, I ended up just deleting everything and starting all over again but I spent a lot of time gathering all the artwork, videos, etc and do not wish to do that again. I can run the bulk edit tool multiple times but it doesn't fix the issue. I checked many times over that it's running retroarch from the correct link and using the correct core...not sure what to try.
  4. I noticed recently that certain systems stopped launching games when it used to just fine. No checked manage emulators and they pointed towards the correct core and Retroarch so I ended up deleting Retroarch, updated it and added it to Launchbox. Once again I went under manage emulators and selected Retroarch. Now none of my ROMS will launch. "cannot find emulator" or whatever it says. But when I click edit to check the emulator, Retroarch is listed. The EXE is pointing to where Retroarch is installed but nothing runs. However they all run perfect when launched from Retroarch directly. How do I reassociate all my ROMS for each system to use Retroarch and why are they not working when I manually select any ROM to run for tetrarch?
  5. Except in my case there is no 3rd party software except Launchbox and Retroarch. I have long since given up on this topic, forgot about it actually. I have not tried it since or even fired up my GPD.
  6. I have emu movies account and I'll import my roms for a platform and it'll scan for media content..etc, selecting all and presume it's scraping both LB servers and EMU servers. It finds some of course but there's always a number of roms that will not have videos or what have you. but I discovered today that if I click Tools/download metadata and media and do this again and select to add to rather than over write, it'll find more videos, manuals..etc. Then if I do it for a 3rd time, it finds even more. So the 3rd time took well over an a couple of hours to download on top of what it found the first two times and I now have a video..etc for every single NES, , Sega, TG16..etc rom I have. Which is nice but I wanted to know why? Why does it not find it all the first time it scraped the servers looking for all the media content? I always select all and always select to prioritize Emumovies. They should make a pop up box that informs you that you should scrape the servers again a few times to make sure you get it all. I just have always assumed it would have done so the first time. at least it would have been nice to know the last time I imported some roms using LB.
  7. In desktop mode, I can sort games by release date. I really like that and would prefer to do that for Big Box mode. Is there any possible way to do this? If not I'd like to request this, often I like to focus on playing games by release years.
  8. Thanks I'll give that a shot first and see what happens. Other alternative is to find an older version of LB.
  9. Not sure what LB I have but it's updated and nothing is on any external drive, I have everything on my C drive. Same issue using desktop mode, just wish I had a clue what to try. Is there any code I can type into each games launch augments or whatever its called? If I launch Retroarch application itself, it will come to the fore front like any other application but the ROMS launching from Launchbox are the only ones doing this. Guess I could try a different version of Retroarch but I'm sure it'll be a pain to setup all over again.
  10. Well I wonder why it would happen for me if not for anyone else? I used a fresh install of Windows 10 and the latest Launchbox, just did that last week. But it's my first time using RetroArch. Would there be some setting in Retroarch that I should look at?....There must be some reason that's causing it but was wondering if it's a Launchbox bug because the version # is the only difference since the last time I used Launchbox and it used to work fine...but I also wasn't using Retroarch either so... Didn't there used to be a way to force Windows to give highest priority to the running application?...wondering if it's a priority issue. What sucks is that I found I really like Retroarch, it makes emulating so much nicer and love the Shader options.
  11. *bump Are there any methods to force Windows or lunchbox to bring launched games to the front? Command lines anything? Its a bit difficult to switch running tasks using such a small kb on this GPD. BTW, it's not just the Mame libreto but I found that any emulator cores I've tried in Retroarch through Lunchbox seems to make the emulator launch in the background behind Lunchbox
  12. Using Bigbox mode on the GPD Win portable. I'm using Retroarch Mame2014 libreto. When I launch a MAME rom, the game loads behind Launchbox forcing me to ALT/Tab to switch to the game. How can I get Launchbox to bring the games to the forefront when launching and when exiting, bring Launchbox back?....I already tried desktop mode option of minimizing lunchbox when launching a game but does not work in big screen mode. Any ideas?
  13. Ok, thanks for trying. I'll add this one to my list of other issues that stump everyone lol. It does suck though, I spent a lot of time getting this setup, I may just have to use another emulator but I like that Mesen gets the color palette correct. Can you recommend me an NES emulator that might be just as good?
  14. Yes latest version. I had to take these with my phone but maybe you can see something I don't. Again I had to remove the "Return" Line because that caused the error. Launchbox and Windows 10 are newly installed, both are only a week old. Also I have get the exact same issues with my other computer which is my main gaming rig. Mesen is latest version, I downloaded it last week too.
  15. I keep looking at the pics and mine looks exactly the same word for word. However I removed the "return" line and it then worked but only in Launchbox desktop mode but it doesn't work at all in Big Box mode....which happens to be the mode I want to run in. Also -fullscreen or /fullscreen does nothing. I mean I can't make it look any more exact, kind of hard to screw up a single word, I didn't add any space. If I can get around to it, I'll take a pic. It must be something outside of the script but I don't know where to start.
  16. Well crap, it' s not working. If I put the auto script in, I get Error at line 7. Line Text: Return. Error: This line does not contain a recognized action. And if I put in Sour's fullscreen command either as -fullscreen or /fullscreen...neither of those work. Mesen still launches as window. I triple checked, I seemed to have it typed just as in picture.
  17. Oh ok, I thought this was something within Mesen I had to do. Thanks a lot.
  18. I didn't understand a word you just said. I'm not that computer savvy if you can't tell. I'll be darn, who would've thought that anything useful would be under a Help menu. Although I see the command listed, I don't know what to do with it. The box below already says /fullscreen - start mesen in full screen mode. Also none of the tabs there let me type anything so where am I supposed to input this command?
  19. Using Launchbox big picture with Mesen NES emulator. I have 2 issues I'd love to solve. First there appears to only be one way to exit Mesen which is to physically press File/Exit with the mouse. That's not gonna work for me trying to use Big Box mode. What are my best options? as I really love Mesen, it's very accurate and the pallet is spot on. I know other front ends like GameEx seem to force the closing of the emulator when you press escape key which is really nice feature. Perhaps someone can recommend this to the launchbox team? Second issue with Mesen is there doesn't appear to be any way to always make it start full screen which is really annoying. It only opens in Window mode to whichever size window you select. Does anyone know of a way to force full screen? Thank you for your time.
  20. *edit. I responded to the wrong problem. lol. However on this particular issue, no I never resolved it, plugins never worked, I had more important issues to deal with first.
  21. i dont see anything different in my context menu. i didnt have a plugin folder but created one but guess i did it wrong.
  22. I discovered it's not happening with any of my other platforms, only the Gameboy and Gameboy Advanced which both use the Visual Boy Advanced. So I opened File Explorer to images/gameboy/box art-front so I could visually see the box art. But Launchbox won't show any of the images now. Clicked on a game and closed, nothing happened to the files right then. I closed File Explorer, opened it back up and now it's all gone. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the emulator or settings with Luanchbox for the emulator but it's very weird to me. I already had previously started over completely in regards to importing Gameboy roms because this happened to me before but I didn't realize then that the images were deleting but since it's still happening then not much point in importing roms all over again but could this be some kind of bug in Luanchbox?
  23. I knew something was fishy a while back but I just relecenty realized what was actually happening. I have emu movies if that matters. When I launch a game, in particular Gameboy not sure about the others, my box art would vanish. I discovered the images box art folder was suddenly empty. This was happening with videos too. So I started copying images and videos from a backup and put them back but upon launching a game, that game's box art would vanish within a few seconds, when I selected "Refresh images" then my entire library of box art would vanish from the folders, not just in Luanchbox. Any ideas? I'll keep messing with it and update any further information.
  24. When I select a game on the main window, the title shows up in the background behind the box art, it's really annoying to view. How do I stop this from happening?
  25. Thanks. So what format and video length is suggested for best performance?
