  2. I think there was a corrupt "Gauntlet_ The Deeper Dungeons-02.png" in Fanart - Background, which could not be opened. I deleted it, also 'Gauntlet_ The Deeper Dungeons-03.png, which are not valid in Launchbox Games Database for the game.
  3. I deleted the C64 collection, and imported a different set from One Load 5.x The crash happens at the same point when selecting this game in Launchbox. Double-clicking does start the game, but Launchbox still crashes. (Inner Exception) The component cannot be found. 4. Found it: it is now Shooter / Flying Vertical Shooter / Flying Horizontal
  5. It seems my "Shoot 'Em Up"-Playlist (Arcade Shoot Em Ups.xml) has been destroyed by the last update. I did find ALL Launchbox games in there. So, I grabbed the list from "LaunchBox\Data\Playlists" and deleted all games entries. Now, I want to auto-populate it. But the problem seems to be the rules: <PlaylistFilter> <Value>Arcade</Value> <FieldKey>Platform</FieldKey> <ComparisonTypeKey>EqualTo</ComparisonTypeKey> </PlaylistFilter> <PlaylistFilter> <Value>Shoot 'Em Up</Value> <FieldKey>Genre</FieldKey> <ComparisonTypeKey>Contains</ComparisonTypeKey> </PlaylistFilter> This does not fill the playlist. Is there any overview of all valid MAME genres and how to use them? Thanks for any help.
  6. Yes, Online Highscore seems to affect Autosave feature. So I will have to turn either one on or off. Thank you very much for the answer. Hopefully both features may cope in the future. 👍
  7. Hello @ll, another short question about the Autosave feature. Here, I also edited the mame.ini in the Launchbox\Emulators\Mame folder, activated "autosave 1", and I did change the "state_directory <some custom path>;sta" (custom path helps when upgrading MAME not to lose savestates) In Launchbox for MAME Launch options, I tried to set the switch -autosave and without the switch( -noautosave is default). Autosave wasn't possible in any case. When launching only MAME via context menu of a MAME game in Launchbox and then running a game from within MAME, the Autosave feature works just fine. Does the -autosave switch need a path parameter in Launchbox? Thank you for any help in advance. 👋
  8. yes, thank you, I had already done that. 👍 Wonderful, this solved the problem. Thank you so much 😄
  9. Hello @ll, this might be the 1001th question about a M.A.M.E topic related to CHDs, but I have not found an answer after all nor could I quite figure out a solution myself, which maddens me a lot. So, we all know, how a Full Mame Set Import generates all those neat categories, one of which is CHD. Now, during all the time using MameUI I got used to editing the mame.ini, adding both paths for roms and CHDs, but kept them in different directories. This worked like a charm. Indeed, it also works for Launchbox, IF....I just start pure MAME with a right click on any imported MAME game and select it in the context menu, then within MAME choose the Category CHD, and run the entry, which I know I have the romset and the CHD. (for instance Gauntlet Dark Legacy) but it doesn't work with a double click on the MAME game in Launchbox itself, but I guess it should. So I thought to myself, maybe I am missing something. Why should it work with just MAME started, but not within Lanuchbox doing a double click on the imported MAME game icon? 🤔
  10. Missing the feature for multiple rompaths here in Launchbox...at least for MAME. The problem with multiple rompaths in mame.ini is, Launchbox won't look for new roms there. I have to do everything manually. If we were at least able to populate the variable %romlocation%.
  11. Where is this variable declared? -rompath %romlocation% I can't find it in MAME manuals. Is it a Windows System variable set by Launchbox? Does Launchbox set other variables? I am a bit in lack of information here.
  12. yes, same issue here, still not resolved in 2024. Launchbox is in lack of transparency here. It is not a MAME problem, but a Launchbox problem. With the same mame.ini file mame works correctly, but not from within Launchbox.
  13. I have found the issue. The default lay file has an error. <mamelayout version="2"> <element name="bezel"> <image file="bezel.png" /> </element> <view name="Bezel Artwork"> <bezel element="bezel"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="16" bottom="9" /> </bezel> <screen index="0"> <bounds left="4.625" top="0" right="11.375" bottom="9" /> </screen> </view> </mamelayout> The wrong layout file is here: <mamelayout version="2"> <element name="bezel"> <image file="bezel.png" /> </element> <view name="Bezel Artwork"> <element ref="bezel"> <bounds left="0" top="0" right="16" bottom="9" /> </element> <screen index="0"> <bounds left="4.625" top="0" right="11.375" bottom="9" /> </screen> </view> </mamelayout> Hope this helps for anyone encountering this error.
  14. I have installed the newest Launchbox and Mame 0.260 🫠 also, I am using OpenGL shaders, one for horizontal and one for vertical. For horizontal everything seems okay, the game screen fits into the bezel, but not for vertical. In the Mame Menu to option for Bezels is also missing for vertical. I have added two screenshots, one horizontal (ok), and one vertical (error). Could it be possible a layout file is missing for vertical games or wrong? If so, where do I have to look for this file? Thanks for any helpful advice.
