You got this! We have faith in you.
Though seems like a lot of work for all f o u r games.
Nonetheless, when you're on a mission, you gotta follow through.
Your inspirational words have given me the strength needed to push on with this frivolous but driven task. These four games need to be playable once again on my setup or the universe is not aligned in my mind. Also, as I get older the words "follow through" can't help but resonate differently.

I use MAME for this system.
I will likely obsess over and continue to try and get it back up and running in RA simply because I know it is possible from having previously done it. Though, if I end up quitting I will give your suggestion a try; thanks for the info.

You may want to try my Adventure vision overlay for MAME. Which is the same, but with the cartridges "on its place"
This is a very late reply. Thanks for the cool overlays. I have come back to this system after not having had it on my setup for years. After previously having had it working and helping other getting it working about five years ago I now am unable to get the damn system to work, haha.

I would post this in eXo's Discord Help Channel. You will likely get a lot more help right from the Project Team members there.
Thanks for the suggestion. I just joined Discord as I have never used it before. It looks damn confusing how it is laid out but hopefully I will get an answer there; thanks again.

Hello, I have downloaded exoDOS and it is located on a separate internal drive (G drive) to where my already existing LB is located (C drive). I have:
- Downloaded exoDOS 6.04
- Run Setup eXoDOS.bat (on G drive)
- Copied all of the data, manuals, music, images and videos folders from G-drive to my LB location
- Downloaded Link Shell Extension
- Created folders in my LB directory called eXoDOS\eXo\eXoDOS
- Right clicked on the 7,666 games in is G:\eXoDOS\eXo\eXoDOS
- Right clicked in the folders in step five and selected 'drop as symbolic link'
After all of this, when I attempt to launch a MS-DOS games on LB it says 'The ROM file you've specified does not exist.' The reason why I am wanting to leave everything in G drive is because I don't want to add over half a terabyte more to my C drive. Would anyone please be so kind as to tell me what I have done incorrectly? Thank you in advance.
EDIT: I saw in a post on Reddit someone said you have to move Parents.xml and Platforms.html from eXoDOS's Data folder into Launchbox's Data folder, so I did that and I still get the 'The ROM file you've specified does not exist' message.

I have 2 Hori FC pads and never had an issue with them in Windows.
Have you ever played something like SFII on the Genesis and the six buttons on the face of the controller worked as the three kick and three punch actions, instead of using shoulder buttons?
Do you remember, for your Hori controllers, under Settings > Inputs > RetroPad Binds > Port 1 Controls, did you have Digital to Analog Type set to None?

Feels good to get something done.
It certainly does feel good to get an issue sorted with something you love, like the gaming setup. Now, I will just have to work out how to map my controls and I will be all set!

Sorry, that's the one of the few things I could think of.
You'll get it.
Don't apologise, I really appreciate you trying to help. You are right, I did get it! It turns out that EmuMovies will let you create a password with special characters in it; however, LaunchBox does not seem to like those special characters. I changed my EmuMovies password to one that only contains lowercase and uppercase letters along with numbers, and LaunchBox accepted that immediately.

I can bet it's saved somewhere in the Launchbox settings folders, and it's just not propagating.
Wish I could help more, but that might point you in the right direction.
In LaunchBox's Data folder, there is a file, Settings.xml. In that file it did have my EmuMovies username and password, I deleted those lines, and it did delete my credentials from the importer, but unfortunately, not the options menu, which is where my old credentials are stored. I have looked in every folder in Launchbox and simply cannot find anywhere else that has the EmuMovies username and password; thanks very much for the suggestion, though. Hopefully, someone might read this and know somewhere else where those details are stored.

I have the latest, up-to-date version of LaunchBox and I am having issues with logging into EmuMovies, I think I know what the issue is, but I am unable to find a fix for it.
In LaunchBox, I go to Tools > Option > Integrations > EmuMovies and it has my login details stored. The thing is, I have recently changed my EmuMovies password, but LaunchBox is auto-filling the username/password fields with my old password. When I type in my new password and press 'test,' I am logged in; however, as soon as I close that window, it reverts back to my old password; therefore, when I go to import new or update existing games, I am unable to login to EmuMovies even if typing in my new password because LaunchBox's options refuse to hang on to my new password. Is there a way to wipe my old EmuMovies credentials from LaunchBox so I can type the new ones in and then hopefully it will save the new and correct ones?

The switch at the bottom where it says 4 3 PC, set it to PC.
I already had it in PC mode. The other switches on the controller I have set on DP and R3-L2/L3-L1.
I turned on my PC this morning and tried SMB via the Nestopia core and it was working. D-pad, select, start, A and B were all functioning as they should; B was mapped to the X button on the controller and A was mapped to the O, which is perfect.
Then I tried a Game Boy game via the Gambette core and nothing was responding. I closed RA and opened the same Game Boy game again and still nothing. Then, I opened the game a third time and everything was working; however, B and A were mapped to the X and Triangle buttons, which isn't comfortable. This is a great example as this is where a lot of my difficulties lay, even now that the controller seems to be recognised, mapping controls in RA have always been a thorn in my side. When you have a core opened and go to Quick Menu > Controls > Port 1 Controls and press Enter to go into a specific button, like the A button, there does not appear to be any way to press a button on your controller to map that button, it just has a menu to select from. Am I missing something?
Thank you for your replies, I appreciate the help very much.

Put the Hori FC into Xinput mode with the switch.
I have 2 Hori FC pads and never had an issue with them in Windows.
Thank you very much for the reply. How do I put it in Xinput mode? I just read something that said a controller in dinput mode shows as a USB Gamepad and xinput shows as an XBOX Controller. I only have my Hori plugged into my PC and in Device Manager, it shows a controller as XBOX 360, does that mean it is already in xinput mode?
Also, the home button that has a Playstation symbol on it does not register at all in JoyToKey, that never happened previously when I used to use this controller a long time ago.

I have 2 Hori FC controllers and I am having such a difficult time trying to get them to work with RA on my Windows 10 PC that I am about to throw them out the window. I see in RA's autoconfig folder that there are files for various Hori controllers; however, RA just seems to want very little to do with them.
I have JoyToKey and DS4 on my PC, but DS4 only recognises one of the controllers, and that one is listed in the Device Manager as an XBOX controller. The home button presses the WIndows + G keys which opens the gamebar, which is very frustrating as I therefore cannot seem to program that as esc to close games with.
Would anyone please be so kind as to tell me where I might even start to try and get all this working? Thank you in advance.

When you say lag do you mean bad framerate or input latency ?
If you mean framerate then I would check that that the refresh rate is set to 60 or 120 if available and not 30.
Sorry, it would be input latency.
I didn't even know if you meant to check the framerate refresh rate on my PC or TV because I am that inept; however, I looked it up, changed it to 60 (on the PC), and wham! Absolute smooth and perfect video and audio now; thank you so much for your sexy knowledge.

Hi all, I am posting this here as it is not directly LaunchBox or any emulator specific. I recently purchased a new TV, it is an OLED 55" LG TV. I can no longer play any games due to lag, even the general mouse on the PC lags, just just a tiny bit. I am wishing to fix this annoyance and am not the most knowledgable person when it comes to technology.
I have Windows 10 Home 64-bit, an AMD FX(tm)-6350 Six-Core Processor 3.90 GHz, 16.0 GB of RAM, and a Radeon RX 480 graphics card. I made sure to purchase a 4K HDMI cable to go between the TV and PC as my previous TV was not 4K, just in case that helps.
Has anyone got any idea on what might be the issue(s) and what I might be able to do? Thank you in advance.

Gee, that was four years ago, how the time flies! I am glad it may have been some help to you.

I posted this on the Libretro forum some time ago, but wanted to see if anyone here has found a way to do this. Is it possible to implement a screen gap option into the Citra core like desmume has for the regular DS? This is a very neat feature as it allows you to customise the layout for a border overlay. I have found a very nice border overlay for the 3DS but it is not useable without the simple screen gap option.

Is Retroarch something I can get running on a Pi and can I get the AV running on it too.
I have never owned a Pi and know nothing about them; however, I do know that you can download Retroarch for Pi. Go to Retroarch's website and in the downlaoad section you will see a link and guide for the Pi. I do not know anything further from there regarding the Pi, sorry.

Lol it’s in the link he says it copied there machine’s. And a photo of there machine next to the plans
Well, if he openly admits he based the design off of those cabinets then what is the issue? It is not like he is trying to hide anything or lie about it.

Ripped off from Xtreme Gaming Cabinets in Australia.
You could take any upright cabinet and find similarities, besides some rare examples that have radical designs. Most are designed relatively similarly. Besides the control panel, his and those do share some similarities for sure. However, that does not mean that he intentionally ripped them off. If I were to make a cabinet tomorrow without directly referring to a previous design, I would still end up designing something very generic and thus having an appearance akin to many before it.

Hello. I want to use "crt-geom-deluxe" and I edit the mame.ini like this:
# OSD VIDEO OPTIONS
#
video bgfxbgfx_screen_chains crt-geom-deluxe
Still in MAME I don't see any change. Am I missing something?
Is mame.ini in your ini folder or root directory? On the off chance it’s not in the root directory, place it there. Also check mame folder and files aren’t set to read only. I had this problem in the past but for the life of me I cannot recall how I rectified it though the read only was an issue with my RA at one stage so I thought I’d mention it.

Street Fighter II for years .... however, going to have a go at it later in your honour (won't be anywhere near any high scores though I'm sure!!).
You do honor me with your honoring me. You are a gentleman, scholar and a gamer! Also, I just took back my SFII high score so whoever took it from me... in your face!

I though quoting your thank you would be a good comedic lead in for my screw you remark. I have been trying to better a few scores today but now I have seen my SFII score beat I am going to sit in the dark and eat an entire tub of ice-cream.

Does anyone know where exactly where in the settings of RA's latest release it is that you can turn on and off any settings pertaining to softlists, if there is any?
