  1. This is one a few new videos that I have created, how to update and add roms to Launchbox as well as adding cores to Retroarch, the audio in the background is from an old time radio broadcast called Inner Sanctum. Hope you enjoy the video. Russ How to update Launchbox with new roms and update Retroarch with new cores a video tutorial
  2. I was wondering if anyone uses Rom Vault for the Internet Archive collection. I have a whopping 12 TBs of online storage space and am getting another 12 TBs really soon , all internal drives. I wanted to know if anyone has figured out how to update missing Roms, and one of the features of the Rom Vault is that it has an extensive picture library, Box Art ,etc. I am going to do a video of it in use, the other program that I am working on is an extra copy of Retroarch with the name 'RetroArch_mess' as the folder name in the emulators section. I am using the attractmode program to run all of the roms that refuse to run, again those will be captured as a screen video too. Keep i touch as I am always looking into ways to run roms that refuse to run, but first I want to get the 8 TB collection from the Internet Archives, its just that I am having problems with Rom Vault updating everything. Russ
  3. I have 8 GBs of new box art, manuals, screenshots, etc for the Atari 8 Bit series, and getting box art for other systems as we speak.... I will have to put up a mega link if that is OK, because its a huge amount of material. Russ
  4. As I mentioned before, I am a video maker , so I decided to make my very first Launchbox Tutorial, how to add roms and what your copy of Launchbox should do while processing it, a video about 38 mins long , I use 2 or 3 rom sections to import the roms and import them from a different drive than what Launch Box is on, so theoretically I could share the entire Launchbox folder (minus the licence key), the roms would not be even there as they are on a different drive plus I imported all roms without copying them to my Launchbox folder, anyways here is my YouTube video, anything you want shown in a video that has not already been covered , let me know, making videos for me is #1) fun, and #2) easy. Russ
  5. This is my entire list the files are separated into 3 files, each one a PDF of what is out there , note that this is an old list, (2017 I think, there is much more out there but I don't have everything that is current). Anyways too many pages to print out but to scan through it mightbe OK. We are talking 15,000 + pages of good information, file structures, folder structures , etc. Again usefull for programmers of Launchbox, (I am a programmer myself, have written many programs but thats another story). Tosek List Sorted - Part 1.pdf Tosek List Sorted - Part 2.pdf Tosek List Sorted - Part 3.pdf I hope I am not breaking any rules, this is just a file listing. Russ
  6. I am in the process of printing a set of PDFs that contain a file list from Tosek, at least what I have , it will take some time, but will be worth it, this will actually preserve my file structure right down to the actual filenames and actual directories, but not include the files. Maybe useful to someone that is doing the programming in Launchbox. Russ
  7. Ya am talking photos of games , box images , I was unaware that they were totally open so my question has been answered, thanks everyone, I have a video showing importing of some roms, but its kind of long so I am unsure about posting it but I may, it shows the process of importing romss\. My question is this: I have encountered a class of computer that has no catagory. The Acorn BBC has no category, what do I put it under? Acorn Atom or Acorn Electron? If someone knows about this then I would love to know about it. Also I have imported all of the system bios files from the Internet Archives, do I have to do anything to run the games for each separate cataegory of games, or does the program now set things up automatically ? Anyways I have a huge collection from Tosek, and I have taken the time to extract everything in the collection to seperate folders and sub folders. I just wish that Launch Box would save the games in the same way. I am syncing everything to the cloud, so everything I have should be there, it least the box art should be there if not my folder structure. The last question is for the admins, is there a way to duplicate the structure that I took so long to create in my games database, ie: the actual structure of the games folder, everything is now available online on the Internet Archives, but their structure is not too good. I could send up a list with the structure from Total Comamnder so that others can see how to set it up, it would show a list of the games but not give out the actual games. More of a list of where everything belongs. Russ Campbell
  8. Hi I am not sure if this is the right area to post this in , but I am using media from the Tosek library, just about every computer and console has been covered and I have all unzipped most of it to my 12 TB configuration. My problem is that box art is not available for a lot of the games or roms that are available from there. I am going to be in the process of setting up retroarch and other emulators and would like to send working configurations and new boxart as I do screenshots of the various games. That will be a big thing for me, a new project so to say to put everything in the right place and get everything working .... I am offering only screenshots, videos of me doing and setting up stuff plus working configurations. I am not offering roms sorry. I have worked with Launchbox and Boxbox off and on for about 3-4 years now, and I am still having problems. As for videos I have done over 450 of them and posted them on YouTube, so I am an old hand at doing videos, I have a good screen capture pram so I can do tutorial videos showing my successes and failures, (the screen captures everything)... Altirra help?

I have all of the Atari 8 Bit games in a folder, 6000 of them, *I can post a link to them if wished. nd all of the ATX games too.... Russ
  10. Hi: I had the same problem, I updated to a 1 GB graphics card ad that all went away it now works perfect, if that helps. I was running on a 3 GB OptiPlex 745, with onboard graphics, the instant I upgraded to a 1 GB video card the problems went away. Also upgrading the ram to faster PC2:8500 SD-RAM chips, 4 of them so my friend will have an 8 GB system to play all of his games on. Seems too be I have the time to set it all up, but he wants a system with a floppy drive in it for doing Atari ST disks. All and all a nice retro system. Hope that helps. I am a technician, so I can help out in any way I can. Russ
  11. Ok , this question is along the same lines , I have all of my Atari 800 games installed, Launchbox launches them, but Retroarch says I do not have a real Atari OS installed, my question is where does it go and what filename do I use for the OS file? Russ PS: If I get everything running right I will make a video showing how to do this.....I have made over 300 videos...Russ
  12. OK I will check and se if that is the problem, but with over 900,000 games , it will take awhile to fix, either that or go strictly retro arch...
  13. HI all: I am at present using the entire Tosek library with LaunchBox, its all PD now, so I just use the files unzipped as they are, will that cause problems with long filenames and spaces in the filenames? I can get them to run under RetroArch no problem, but under Launch Box, no way, could that be my problem? Russ
  14. Hi : I am having troubles getting Launch box to run retro-arch when I click on any of my games, I have a few insalled but they run under retro arch but not Launch box, when I look at Retro arch later its still says no core.... Russ
  15. I too am having problems, but I am importing the entire Tosek library from # to Z, you name it I have it, I will be going through each game and getting screen shots for the box title , and uploading all of my screenshots. This should be of an enormous help for those who are missing screenshots for each game, we are talking over 300,000 games so it will take awhile. Both of my systems (In fact all 3 will have the Tosek library on them). That library itself includes hard to find Atari 8 Bit and Atari ST files that I recovered before I sold both Atari systems.
