AFaustini Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 Did anybody see this? It's a new frontend for libretro, that looks a lot like Launchbox, but offers a seamless launching for ROM archive. Quote
DOS76 Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I just downloaded it and its limited by being only compatible with RetroArch cores. Also I just tested a game and the performance between Phoenix and RetroArch are nowhere close to the same but it is only alpha stage. Quote
SentaiBrad Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Someone revived Pheonix? Pun not intended. I saw screenshots of this a while ago as being the same thing as they're claiming it is now, but no one used it or liked it if I recall so they stopped development. I could be wrong, I had read some old things about it. Quote
AFaustini Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 There is a way to implement libretro seamless on Launchbox like this phoenix did? Because this Phoenix is a major threat to Launchbox, because when they are more developed, it may superseed launchbox. Quote
DOS76 Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 As long as it only supports RetroArch cores and has absolutely no customization I don't see that being a factor at this time. Quote
SentaiBrad Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 No offense to the Pheonix team, but no they're not. We're in a completely different field then they are, and that's not me saying we're better or anything like that, I literally just mean we have two completely different goals. RetroArch already works perfectly within LaunchBox. While things could always be improved for ANYTHING we do, we already run with RA near perfect. Quote
spektor56 Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Phoenix is a libretro front end (like retroarch), not a launcher. Launchbox is a launcher so it can open anything, not just libretro cores. Launchbox is a level of abstraction above Phoenix/Retroarch Quote
