Amiga CD 32

I am a bit confused... does WinUAE want the image mounted or can WinUAE mount the games? If you are asking similar to dosbox I assume you mean to install the game. LaunchBox doesn't mount any images, it just facilitates the mounting process by telling DOSBox where the disc image is and the command line parameters. So if you need to install the game there really isn't a method that is easy like DOSBox to install the game. If you just need files you can mount the image file with a program like Daemon Tools or Virtual CloneDrive (which is what I use). I am not totally familiar though with this. If you don't need to install the game but need the disc mounted, you can still use one of the two programs I mentioned. You can have LaunchBox use the Additional Apps feature to auto mount the image that you need when you launch the game. If WinUAE can read ISO files directly, you import the games in to LB like normal and if it isn't launching then there must be a command line argument that LaunchBox needs to tell WinUAE to use. Since it can load Amiga and Amiga 32 CD games there might be a command line that needs to be set so that WinUAE knows what it is trying to load. Those are just 3 sets of general instructions though, a little more information can help us help you.

I don't have much experience with WinUAE but I have gotten it to work for Amiga CD games outside of LB and can confirm that you don't need any third party software to get it to work it handles the disks on its own beside that I'm curious as to what commands do work as I would like to setup my games in LaunchBox.

SentaiBrad said Then yea, if no mounting software is required, and it loads image files directly then there must be a command line argument to tell WinUAE to load CD32 games instead of Amiga games.
Hi all, thanks a lot for all - the posts were very helpful. Now it works. i use a additional commandline for each game : per ex : -f CD32.uae -G -s quickstart=cd32,0 -cdimage="F:\LaunchBox\Games\Amiga CD32\DrMarioCD32.iso" The the game starts. i found the parameter in a older post by "orac31" - thanks orac. It would be more elegant to work with the parameter "file", but I still had no idea how I can use this parameter. thanks again gerhard win-uae.JPG

It's ok, it happens. The command line "-f CD32.uae -G -s quickstart=cd32,0". Open your Emulator list, double click WinUAE. Under Associated Platforms, double click in the middle column & copy the above command line in to it. This will set that command line for the entire system, not a single game but every game.

I found out my issues it is that the -f CD32.uae loads a config file and I didn't have a config file by that name when I changed that to my configs name now it loads the games in the full screen config I setup. So for anyone else who stumbles across this like I did who really doesn't know what they are doing in WinUAE you can't just copy the -CD32.uae line because if you don't have a file by that it won't do anything. So it should be -f yourconfigname.uae -G -s quickstart=cd32,0 -cdimage=

I was wrong there is still something wrong this worked for the first game I tried without its own custom parameters but now whenever I load any game the same game starts over and over. What do the other parameters mean -G -s quickstart=cd32,0 obviously starts cd32 in quickstart -cdimage= I'm not sure about this one I would assume it loads the image but the value is blank after the equals sign so is it not telling it what to load?

I found the parameter -G from a previous post. No idea what causes the parameter. I have the parameter -G removed in the starting line - emu works. I found out when I do not set hook at "no space ....", always starts the same .iso. Why that ultimately works for me - no idea, I'm not a specialist. I simply try out, sometimes helps :-)Wink I appended pics of my emu details good luck gkemu.JPGno-space.JPGplatform.JPG

I had this issue to 1st do you have a config file named cd32.uae if you didn't make one then you don't have one and you are loading a config file that doesn't exist. After the -cdimage= it should just be blank %file isn't needed. Also did you follow Gerhard's instructions to add the check to no space in the manage emulator form for Amiga CD32

Go to manage emulators click on WinUAE (or whatever you have named it) then go to edit there are three check boxes one says no Space before ROM that has to be checked. Can you start the games already outside of LaunchBox? There is a screenshot of this in post 14
