I had different amount of Roms in my LaunchBox folder than the Start programs version I've been trying to uninstall and install in the same folder I use, but LaunchBox won't go in the folder I use. Everything is back to 0 now and says free version. How do you fix this? Thanks guys. Most likely you installed to the LaunchBox\LaunchBox folder on accident. You can uninstall the one in the LaunchBox\LaunchBox folder by just double clicking on the uninstall.exe file in that folder, but you will have to navigate to your LaunchBox folders. Then you can run the installer again and make 100% sure that it's installing to the correct folder. You have to pay attention because the installer will add LaunchBox to the folder after you browse for it. Look at the text box after browsing in the installer. Make sure the image also shows the drive path so we can see the structure.
Keith Krummel
I kept uninstalling and installing LaunchBox over and over hoping to get it back in the LaunchBox folder, but it and the uninstall never came back. It only goes to the Desktop and Start program empty. I wanted to ensure that there wasn't a difference in Roms like yesterday so that didn't happen again so I uninstalled the one in the wrong folder. I got a new computer where the keyboard works with Retro Arch since the keyboard/computer wasn't compatible so I just started setting 2 cores up there. The last computer wasn't powerful enough to play the games, but I could've gotten started and familiarized myself a bit. I was also going to set it up in Kodi IAGL, but the RetroPlayer works out of the box except for the Bios files. There are no directories so I don't know where to put them and started in LaunchBox. There probably would be directories if you use Retro Arch instead of RetroPlayer. Some games didn't to well over there on the old computer. I can go there for the non-Bios systems. I didn't have RetroPlayer so had to switch to a beta version. The one in the LaunchBox folder didn't contain them even though Retro Arch and PS2/PS3 are all there. It was 10 Roms different this morning. The one on my desktop says free version also when it's not. Thanks for your help.
Keith Krummel
Is the information and pictures helping?
Jason Carr
Hi Keith, looking at that folder, you're missing the LaunchBox and Big Box startup files. So you'll need to run the installer and make sure you install exactly to that "LaunchBox (Not In Kodi)" folder. You may have to type it in, because the installer always appends "LaunchBox" to the end of any folder you browse to.
Keith Krummel
I was saying that nomatter how many times I install that it doesn’t install in the folder. It only does start menu and desktop but empty and free version instead of paid version.

If that's happening, then pretty much the only reason why it would happen (assuming you aren't getting any errors within the installer) is that you have an anti-virus program installed that is causing problems. Try exiting out of all antivirus programs first. Other than the antivirus issues, we've never seen an issue like that once in the three years we've been using that installer, so I'm nearly 100% confident that it's not a bug with LaunchBox or the installer. Keith Krummel
I’m not getting any errors setting it up. I turned off all of the antivirus stuff and Windows defender stuff, but it is still the same. I had an error for EPSXE saying it was causing a problem and had to shut down. I had C++ errors on a gaming computer for PCSX2. I had to call Microsoft when I got it since I didn’t have errors on my non-gaming computer. They fixed eventually but thought antivirus was intereferring with Windows 10 setup.

I'm not sure what's all related, or if you're running a broken version of Windows 10, but it sounds like that might be the case. You might just have to reinstall Windows from scratch if that's the problem (but I can't really confirm much of anything without being there). Keith Krummel
~Microsoft installed Windows 10 3 times already because it was their common answer to resolving the PS1 and PS2 C++ every time I spoke to somebody else.

I'm sorry. I really don't know what's going on here. It's sounds like you've been to hell and back, but something still isn't right. Hopefully you can get some other help on here, but I have to step out and get back to development.
Keith Krummel
Lol. It isn’t fun waiting for Windows 10 to install over and over, but the 3rd guy fixed the C++ error eventually without the install. The first two were oblivious to gaming. The last guy said he grew up playing the games in my folder and helped me out. I think he wanted to get them himself
