Jon Christian Posted August 25, 2016 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Greetings Fellow Launchboxers - I had a weird thing happen to me out of nowhere today. I logged into BigBox as I always do, and my favorites are missing from the game list when I scroll to the Platform (in this case, NES). I have a few that have stayed visible, but of the 100 favorites I have, only 8-10 are showing up. I've tinkered with the settings for quite a bit, but haven't found a solution. Here are a few things I've tried: I dropped a few favorites, and added them back in to see if they'd show back up. I checked to see if the games were checked off as hidden or broken, but they aren't. I bounced the application and PC a few times. I went through the BigBox settings and didn't find anything that resolved it. Any thoughts? Thanks, in advance for any help! Excelsior! Zombeaver Posted August 25, 2016 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Hmm... is this affecting multiple platforms or just NES in particular? Do all the relevant entries show as favorites (heart icon) in LB? Jon Christian Posted August 25, 2016 Author Share Posted August 25, 2016 Hey gents. Thanks so much for the welcome and the response. It's pretty funky. It only happens in BigBox, and I'm seeing the favorites missing from platforms other than the NES as well. When I swap to LaunchBox, all of the games still have the favorite icon and heart filled in from selecting it as a favorite. I checked the app properties for the games that did and didn't show up, and didn't see any differences that stood out either. Oh, and the recent games list below the favorites carosel seems to be unaffected. They still have the historical games played previously, even if they dont show up in the favorites above it. I'm not to burned up by it or anything. It's an annoyance more than anything else. I'd be satisfied if I could just get all of the games I have imported to show up instead if the favorites listing didn't pan out. Anyway, I'm happy to try any ideas you guys may be able to suss out. Zombeaver Posted August 25, 2016 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Just to clarify, when you're saying there are ones that are missing in Big Box, you're actually talking about within the full games list itself right - not just the favorites that show up when you hover on a platform on the initial screen? The reason I ask is that there's a limit on the number of games that it will list on that initial screen. The games that are missing are those that come up in the initial platform selection screen when BigBox opens. Previously, when I opened BigBox, I would select a game platform on the left, and two carousels of games would be selectable for that platform. The top carousel was the list of games I'd favorites, and the bottom was a list of recently played games. Up until theyes stopped showing up, I had a list of 100 or so favorites games. I have 647 games total, but didn't want to have to scroll through all of them to get to the good stuff. Now, of the 100 or so games that used to show up, only 10 or less are in the favorites list. I don't know what the number is, but there's a limit. You have to press enter (or A on a 360 controller) while hovered over the platform icon/name. That will take you into the full list for that platform. You can set up favorites to either all appear at the top of that platform's list or just in normal alphabetical order with the rest of the games - they'll have an asterisk next to them if they're one of your favorites. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Zombeaver Posted August 25, 2016 Share Posted August 25, 2016 This is the option that you would want to have checked if you want the favorites to appear first in your games list (which it sounds like you do). Sorry, couldn't recall the exact name from memory I think this is checked by default. I'm not positive though. @Jason Carr, out of curiosity, did the number of games that appear in the favorites carousel increase at some point? I definitely remember at one point in the past where I would scroll over in say Arcade (it has one of my longer favorites lists) and it would get to like...letter "F" or so and wouldn't go any further. It's got all of them in there for me now though. Only 64 games but still. "Recent" is the 10 most recent. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ah, I've gottcha. Thanks very much for the clarification. It'd odd. I had to have had 100+ favorites that I could scroll through before. Must have been a recent release I installed that knocked it back down. Not a big deal though. I changed the config on my controller for easier browsing of the GUI, and it made a big difference.
