Launchbox media or Emumovies

Hi all

When importing your roms using the wizard do you prefer to prioritise Launchbox media over emumovies or vice versa?

I have premium accounts in both and was wondering the best method for importing my roms and benefiting from the most media but without all the duplicate images...

I imported prioritising launchbox media..

However, after importing my games, i wanted to see if there were any more media from emumovies available by running "Download metadata and images" from the TOOLS menu. But it simply downloaded the same media to the launchbox folders causing duplicates. How do i avoid this?

Thanks

Thanks

Hi @mrman365, the best approach is to download from both the LaunchBox Games Database and EmuMovies on the first shot. The priority matters less now that multiple images are allowed for each category. It will grab images from both sources either way. However, there will be some duplicates if the same image is located on both the LaunchBox Games Database and EmuMovies. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about that currently.

What if you want only 1 image per category (same style, quality etc),
would you download from only Launchbox or Emumovies but not both?

whats the point of prioritising Emumovies then?

I would've thought that this system would download from your preference, any missing assets would be downloaded from fallback endpoints

Yes, that should probably be optimized. Honestly it's a relic from back when we only supported one image per category. I'm not sure there is a point to it currently, so we do need to address that. I think ideally we'll need options for prioritizing EmuMovies, prioritizing the LaunchBox Games Database, or including both. Feel free to put in a ticket for that if you can, @chito. :)
