Video URLs

So I've rejected one game a few days ago for two reasons: It had a website watermark (disallowed per mod rules) and it was a gameplay and not a trailer video.

Are we accepting only trailer videos, or are gameplay videos acceptable as well? I've run across another one of those, and I'm not sure how to proceed. I'm thinking we shouldn't accept them, though.

I think there should be gameplay in it.

If there is gameplay in the trailer I think its ok

I'm okay with either of them. Considering that most games don't have Video URLs, as long as the video is related to the game, it's good to have available. The only time I've even see anyone replacing a Video URL is when the original link is broken.

I would guess, then, that it should be ok as long as there are no watermarks in it, right?

I'd think so, yes.

There are a lot of games, especially older ones, that don't even have trailers, so gameplay would work just fine I would think. In the case of really old games that do have trailers, I'd be less picky with a watermark on it if it's extremely hard to find. A really bad trailer, or a trailer with a watermark could be easily replaced with gameplay instead though, so I don't know.

Well, I hate to be asking so many questions. I just feel like I should, because this isn't MY database, it's a community database - if it were MY database, I'd know what to do with certain things.

So, with that in mind, I think consensus is a good thing.
