snarfo67
I haven't see a way to do this yet--- is there a way to append a switch to a MAME (or any other emulator that uses switches after the ROM name) command line?
SentaiBrad
After the rom file specifically, no, but loading command lines has always worked for every emulator that supports them.
spycat
Some while back Jason added the %romfile% variable to allow the use of parameters after the ROM file. I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for.

There are some emulators, MAME functions in particular, that require arguments after the romfile so I'll give that a shot. Thanks.
SentaiBrad
Ah, I didn't realize that this was the case. Every command that I've passed I was able to do on either side.
spycat
I've also never had a need to use the %romfile% variable with any of my emulators, with the exception of blueMSX when I was testing it out with multiple Associated Platforms. It came in very handy then, as it allowed LaunchBox to pass the correct information to enable blueMSX to switch it's emulation mode to match the game's platform. By the way, Jason also added two other variables back then. Here are the three. %romfile% - gets replaced with the rom file path. %platform% - gets replaced with the platform name. %launchboxorbigboxexepath% - gets replaced with the EXE path to the running instance of LaunchBox or Big Box .
