The_Keeper86
Hey guys, I'm trying set up Reshade with the Sweetfx crt shader in Demul but not having any luck. Has anyone successfully got this working in Demul? I'd like to use this preset if possible. SweetFx Arcade look
Lordmonkus
I'll have a go at this and see what I can figure out with it. I have used SweetFX and ReShade in the past with some success but it can be a bit of a pain in the ass because of different hardware and direct x versions and the compatibility. I was able to setup a crt look with SSF even though the look wasn't anything near what I really would have liked it wasn't absolutely awful either.
Lordmonkus
Ok, I did get this to work but with some caveats. First, I "installed" the necessary files to my Demul folder using an older version of ReShade / SweetFX 2.0. Second, the effect may change based on your monitors resolution. My monitor is a 2560 x 1440 resolution and the scanline spacing is uneven and I do need to tinker with it. I have attached a zip file of what I have and it should work if you just extract it to your Demul folder. The dxgi.dll, dxgi.log, ReShade.fx and Sweet.fx files will be in the Demul folder with your Demul.exe and the SweetFX folder will sit there with other folders. In the SweetFX folder you will see a SweetFX_settings.txt and SweetFX_settings.txt.bak. The .bak one is the stock file with no changes but the SweetFX_settings.txt is the preset you linked in the original post. This theoretically should work with any emulator or game that uses DX11 but of course I cannot guarantee that. To make adjustments open the SweetFX_settings.txt in notepad and look for the effects you want to edit which will most likely be in the Advanced CRT Settings section. The_Keeper86
Wow I don't know how you did it but its working! I guess I should've tried an older version of Reshade like you mentioned. I really appreciate it. My monitor/TV is 1920x1080. I'll play around with the settings. If you make anymore adjustments etc feel free to share Yeah, I was also planning on using it in PCSX2, Dolphin and maybe a few others? I mainly use Retroarch so lol. Lordmonkus
I had an older version of ReShade with SweetFX on my hard drive from a while ago, I believe it is version 1.1. It has a Reshade Setup.exe which you run and then point it to the exe that you want to inject the shaders into and select which api you are using (DX9, DX11 or OpenGL) and it installs the necessary files and folders to that folder, those are the files and folders I compressed and uploaded in my previous post. The only changes I have made for myself was to remove the curvature effect. Here is a zip file of the Reshade version I used, simply extract it to its own folder on your computer and then run the ReShade Setup.exe, pick the game or program and then the api you are using with that program and it will copy the files to that game / program folder and then edit the SweetFX_settings.txt in the SweetFX folder. The_Keeper86
Awesome thanks! I'll save that. Is any reason a newer Reshade wouldn't work? Not that I'm complaining as I'm just going to keep yours for now and just edit the SweetFx settings. I do wish there was a way to disable that annoying Reshade by text but it's cool. Just happy to have it working! I'm playing around with this setting to and it looks great so far SweetFX PCSX2
Lordmonkus
I don't see why a newer version wouldn't work if it supported those sweetfx_settings files, otherwise you may have to look into other ReShade effects. But again I am no expert at all when it comes to ReShade, it's not something I use on a regular basis and in the past I have had / seen mixed results because of different versions and different games using different apis. I looked into hiding that Reshade text at the start but I couldn't find anything to get rid of it even though in the global_settings.txt there seems to be a way but nothing worked. I kinda like it there because it means its working lol.
The_Keeper86
That's true I'm sure a newer version would work but I'll stick with 1.1 for now I used to use just regular SweetFx a lot but Windows 10 seems to have did something to break it. At least with Reshade I can use it with Supermodel 3. Yeah, I Googled that myself earlier and the creator said something like if he removed it it could mess things up or something I don't know. It ain't a big deal cause like you said it means it's working! I appreciated you helping me man!
Lordmonkus
Yeah the old SweetFX was a DX9 only thing.
The_Keeper86
Oh right that makes sense. Shame it was never updated. I think the last update was like 2013?
