loccaddy
I finally have a computer in my arcade machine that will run Launchbox! I'm upgrading my MAME roms from 0.85 to the latest release. In the past, I have had all of the extras and snaps to support my MAME installation. I see that extras and snaps are still available, but Launchbox has its own database from which to pull information. I have seen the Lightspeed tool on the forums, which seems like it will use the snaps and extras, but it sounds like it's currently broken. I also see a tool called CopyMAMEExtras that might be useful. For MAME, is there a reason to use the extras and snaps over the Launchbox database? Can I use the extras and snaps directly in Launchbox?
DOS76
If they are named after the roms then yes you would just add them in the appropriate image folder inside of your Arcade Platform in LB same for any video snaps
loccaddy
Thanks, I will go ahead and try out the extras and video snaps. I've been trialing the Launchbox automatic database lookup on a game-by-game basis and some support files seem to be missing, even on more common games. Maybe the extras will help fill in the gaps. There's also the very real possibility that I'm doing something wrong during the import!
