Setting up Scan lines in Mame

Mame has shaders built in you can use. There are 3 kinds, GLSL which older and limited now because horizontal ones look really bad in vertical games, not the one I would recommend. There is HLSL which is better and probably the best overall but requires manual tweaking to get them looking good. Last there is the BGFX which is a more advanced form of HLSL with some very nice presets so setting them up is relatively easy and painless, you just cannot easily adjust them to your liking. HLSL and BGFX have the added benefit over GLSL of them working equally well in both horizontal and vertical games. You will need a GPU some sort though, an on board Intel HD chipset will not do at all.

There is my HLSL preset files to download and install, there is a readme included in the zip file to tell you what you need to do.

There is my BGFX tutorial guiding you through how to enable them.
