Hide Mouse in MAME?

I've been trying to play games like Missile Command and Tempest through Big Box and the mouse pointer is moving right along the screen with my spinner and trackball. I've tried to add "nomousy" into each game with the parameter /hide but it doesn't change anything.

I'm running mame through retroarch. Does anyone have a good solution for this? I also have the "hide cursor while not in use" selected, but these games all use the cursor.

Hey there!!! I was wondering if you ever figured this setting out? I'm setting up my first arcade cabinet myself (complete with spinner) and while I've gotten the spinner working in Tempest, the mouse pointer is also showing. I'd like to hide it (preferably without using an external emulator since thus far I've been happily getting by with only RetroArch for dozens of other games).

Thanks either way!!!

i've also only seen that problem in RA mame. maybe they can help you on the RA forums or discord? when i asked them about it a while back, they were not helpful, but maybe i just got unlucky. i ran into a couple other issues too using RA mame that were no issue in stand alone.

i think you're better off just using stand alone mame, but i do understand your motivation to just use RA.
