Can't seem to run Neo Geo Roms

I'll start by saying I have read and searched the forum on how to fix this but nothing worked.  

I have a whole folder full of Neo Geo roms.  The are all ,zip files.  Is that my problem?

I've tried running it through retroarch and nothing would open, then I tried running them through a mame rom and nothing worked.

Any help would be appreciated.  I have been able to run everything except the Neo Geo roms.

Zip files are how they are supposed to be.

Do you have the neogeo.zip bios files in the same folder as your roms ?

Are your Neogeo games from a full set or did you piece it together manually ?

Do you have Mame working besides Neogeo ?

I do have neogeo.zip that contains all the bios info in the same folder as all of the.zip files

 

I do have all of that on a secondary hardrive.  It's not a problem for all my other platforms.

I started with the retroarch using the fbalpha core. Quick question, every time I open retroarch it says pick a core. Shouldn't that stay selected?

You have to specify a core to use in the command line parameters of your Retroarch emulator in Launchbox.

I got it.  For some reason I didn't have the correct platform name in the right spot.

Okay, I spoke to soon.  It seems only some of the games are working.  Some boot into retroarch and others do nothing when I click on them.  Fatal Fury games work but Metal Slug games do not.

If some work and others don't the most likely cause is you have a rom set that is not 100% compatible with the emulator.

The other possibility is that you don't have all the games set to use the same emulator. Select all your games in the NeoGeo platform, right click and edit and use the bulk edit tool to set them to use the same emulator if they aren't all set.

That didn't work. Also when I imported the roms I did it as the whole folder which should have set them to that emulator

Yeah, that's why I said the most likely cause of the issue is you have a romset that is not 100% compatible with the emulator.

I have no idea where your romset is from and for what emulator and it does matter.

Alright, it says that the rom set is in NeoRagex format.  Does anyone know what that means?

NeoRageX is an old and obsolete NeoGeo emulator, you really should update your rom set. If you plan on getting Mame setup you should get a newer Mame set and that will contain the NeoGeo set within it. It will make your life much easier.

Did someone has a problem when with MAME Emulator works with (Rom site linked removed) Games but with Mame Rom the emulator just show error message.
