jgcpalmer
So I'm having an issue creating new platforms. I tried to import roms into a new platform, and just got a message that 0 Roms were imported. Importing roms into an already existing platform still works. If I go into "Tools -> Manage Platforms) I can see the platform I added there, and I create new platforms that show up there. However, the platform doesn't show up on the main screen, and if I go to a ROM and click Edit, and then try to change its platform, it doesn't show my new platforms in the dropdown. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm on the newest version of Launchbox. I tried the previous version of Launchbox and I'm getting the same issue there as well. Lordmonkus
Very strange that importing your roms game you a "0 Roms Imported" message. What system were the roms for ? I just did a quick test of importing an NES game to a new "NES2" platform and it imported and created the platform just fine.
jgcpalmer
They were arcade roms. I imported them first into NEO GEO (which worked) and then realized I'm using a Neo Geo specific retroarch command line, so I tried to reimport them to Arcade, and then when that didn't work, tried editing the games and switching them to be in Arcade, but could not get it to work. Lordmonkus
Umm I think I might know what's going on, maybe. I think what happened was you imported them into the "Arcade" platform and it generated the "playlist" for NeoGeo which is under the Arcade platform. So trying to re-import them would give you the "0 Roms Imported" message because it still is under the same Arcade platform. Go to your \LaunchBox\Data\Playlists\ folder and see if there is a NeoGeo playlist file in there. If there is close Launchbox and delete that playlist file (and any others if you want) and then restart Launchbox. I think this is what is happening and I hope what I am saying makes some sense. DOS76
also if a platform isn't in the drop down that doesn't matter because you can type in any name you want there.
jgcpalmer
Thanks guys! There wasn't any playlist, but that was indeed why it was saying 0 imported. And I did find if I just typed in "Arcade" for the platform, it switched over properly. Annoying that it doesn't show in the dropdown. So thanks to both of you! I got it sorted out. neil9000
Arcade is in the dropdown, it shouldn't need to be manually typed. Glad you got it all squared away though.
jgcpalmer
I agree I shouldn't need to type it. Not sure why it wouldn't appear. But either way, got it working and that's what matters. Thanks again for the help!
DOS76
If its a platform type but its a platform with no games then it isn't in the dropdown that's the way it is.
