Videos load slowly over network

When browsing my MAME (Arcade) roms in bigbox (and LB, but that is less of an issue), the games change quite quickly when you scroll through them, though there is a 5-6 second delay each time before the game video will play. I have my game videos stored on a network drive, which may be something to do with it. However, in Hyperspin I have the same setup and there is no such delay.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I would guess it is that the videos are on the network drives. I only keep my games on my network drives and all media for LB in LB.

I would keep all my media local if I had enough HD space

The issue is, the videos load instantaneously when browsing in Hyperspin - so it's not necessarily a network issue and possibly a LB issue.

I mean it maybe a LB issue but its also recommended to use your media from within LB so if it is an issue not many people are using it that way so not much of a priority to fix

Yes, well I don't know if many other have experienced this. I wonder if making some sort of "mklink" so that LB treats the videos folder as a local folder might help? Open to any thoughts from those who have experience in this area!
