torben656
Hello everyone! I'd like to know how to optimize LaunchBox or my PC in general in order for it to run smoothly. The problem I'm having is that when I play DS games sometimes it stutters with LaunchBox, but if the emulator's alone it doesn't lag. By the way, I'm just using an old PC, so please don't get mad at me. Here are my specs: Processor: AMD A4-6300 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 3.70 GHz RAM: 2.00 GB (1.45 GB usable) System type: 32-bit Operating System Windows 7 Service Pack
Lordmonkus
This may or may not be of some use to you: You got a very good CPU but you could do with more ram, 2 gigs is pretty low for modern systems but as you see in that thread I have an old PC setup as an HTPC and that only has 2 gigs of ram and it's all good with BigBox but I am also not emulating the DS with it either. torben656
I'm still having problems despite your help. I think I'll just wait 'till I can buy more ram. Thanks for your help anyways!
torben656
Um. @Lordmonkus, I got it finally running smoothly, I'd like to share how I figured it out. In DeSmuME, I went to Config > 3D Settings and changed the render to OpenGL 3.2. Now it works perfectly with LaunchBox!
Lordmonkus
Good to hear you got it working a way that is suitable.
torben656
@Lordmonkus using default Windows style and borders also helped improving performance. I dunno how that works. Edit: Oh my, look at it, before I ran LB around 200-300k ram. Now it's just on maximum 80k Edited March 6, 2018 by torben656 I'd like to add something
Lordmonkus
"Windows Aero" has been known to cause problems in the past with some systems, I have it disabled on my HTPC running Windows 7.
