josh648
Hello, trying to find a resolution to a problem with Big Box. When I launch a MAME game in either mameui or launch box the games perform perfect including gameplay and audio. Once I open Big Box the program itself runs fine but when I open a game the audio and gameplay are really bad to the point of not even playable. Trying to figure out why this is. If anyone else has had this issue I'd like to hear how you fixed it. my computer specs are windows 10/16gb ram/Intel i7/1tb hdd/Nvidia 780M Thanks Edited September 16, 2018 by josh648
josh648
I got it. I guess it didn't like the process over wifi. I wiped everything and started with a clean slate connected directly to my router and now everything is working. I did have another question though. How do you save platforms? Every time I enter big box the platforms fighting, flying, etc. turn back to generic and I have to go into setting and change them. Not a big deal but a little annoying. Thanks
neil9000
Just now, josh648 said: How do you save platforms? Sorry im not quite sure what you mean there by save a platform, you just import roms pick a platform and tell it what emulator to use. You mention Fighting, Flying etc so im guessing this is for MAME and those are playlists not platforms, but i still dont quite understand what you mean there, can you elaborate a bit on what you mean by "turn back to generic". Sorry I should have been more descriptive. I was referring to the wheel art for each platform. When I open big box it just has a generic yellows arcade wheel or sometimes a joystick image with arcade text. I enter big box menu head down to view playlists hit enter and it returns back to normal with all the better wheel art fighting, flying etc. Next time I open big box same deal I have to go into settings and repeat to get the wheel art back. Retro808
Not sure how you have your platforms and playlists set up but it sounds like you need to change BigBox default starting view. If you want the playlists to always show up as the default view you have to go into BB settings and in Views set the default startup view to Playlists. You can set it to things like Platform, Platform Category, Playlists, etc.
neil9000
Yep what @Retro808 said. Also to add you can add those playlists to the platform list in Launchbox, so they will show up with your other platforms without having to switch to playlists or changing your startup view. There is a lot of flexibility there in how they are displayed.
