PlaidIgloo
Hello, Do I need to have my zipped CD rom games unzipped in order to play they using RetroArch? Its going to get messy in my roms folder with all of them unzipped. Any ideas on organizing them? Also, where should the bios file be? I currently have it in the system folder for RetroArch. Thanks
Lordmonkus
I personally have mine unzipped and each game is in its own folder. The bios file should go in the Retroarch\system folder along with bios for everything else Retroarch uses though you can put them elsewhere and tell RA where they are.

I am having trouble getting music for the CD rom games to play Akumajou Dracula X for example Am I missing something? do I need to rename some files? PlaidIgloo
Does it have something to do with the VLC player? Edited November 16, 2018 by PlaidIgloo
Lordmonkus
You need to convert the ape files, they are another audio format. It's been a while since I have had to do that with any games I have downloaded so I cannot remember exactly all the steps I had to go through to get them to work. I would recommend sourcing new disk images elsewhere.
Kondorito
I remember using an app called "Monkey's Audio" to convert apes to bins, and they worked fine if I recall correctly. Then I moved on to a different format for CD games, so don't know for sure if the app is still current, or there are better ways.
Lordmonkus
Yeah that sounds familiar and it did work after going through it all. I did this back when I was a noob just getting started on CD system based emulation and one of the first games I downloaded was in this format. PlaidIgloo
Worked it out, thanks boys! Had to decompress the audio files back to wav. Seems to work well now. Thanks again!
