jgraber33
I have never had any luck getting Neo Geo games started through Launchbox and Retroarch. I've seen the tutorials and followed everything step by step, but for some reason Retroarch will not launch when a Neo Geo game is clicked. I'm running RA 1.7.5. I have the neogeo bios zip in the Neo Geo roms folder. I can launch the games directly through RA without issue. I'm trying to use the FB Alpha core. I've attached screenshots of the emulator and platform details. Is there anything else I should be looking for to get this to work?
neil9000
Is the platform in the sidebar in Launchbox named Neo Geo also? What it is named in Launchbox and what you have in the associated platform tab must match exactly.
jgraber33
Yes, it matches exactly as Neo Geo. Forgot to mention I'm running the newest LB. 9.1 I think.
Lordmonkus
Can you post a screenshot of the Emulator Details tab of the Edit Emulators window ?
jgraber33
Okay, so I finally got it to work. I'm not sure if LB automatically has the box checked when RA was added, but the "Extract ROM archives before running" was checked. I didn't think that was the issue because all of the other RA cores were working through LB when it was checked, but when I unchecked it the Neo Geo core loaded. Thanks for your help. For some reason, I thought I read somewhere before that it was supposed to be checked....but I may have misread something.
Lordmonkus
For most systems that box is fine to have checked but for arcade systems like NeoGeo and Mame having it checked breaks the emulator.
