tjohansson
So I hadnt used my pc with launchbox on for a while, when i started up the system today i got windows updates (win 10 1803), driver updates (geforce 1050ti, 417.35) and launchbox update to 9.1 cant remember exactly what I had before 8.x something. Now when I try to start either launchbox or bigbox they just crash with these two messages in the event viewer Application: LaunchBox.exe Framework Version: v4.0.30319 Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception. I uninstalled geforce experience cause I read some people had trouble with that but it did not help.

That error looks like a directx issue as it is referencing d3d9.dll, i would try repairing directx. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 Also if you look in your Launchbox/Updates folder you should have the old installers, just install one directly over the top of your current install. I would try the directx first though as i think that is the issue here.

I can play other games using directx without problem so I dont belive a corrupt dx is my issue. Im running 9.1 so thats the only version in my updates folder, thats why I asked if there is some way to get a hold of the 9.2 beta when I cant get it from changeing the settings for update channel within the program. bigphii
Hello, I suffered exactly the same problem, I tested all these solutions and even the 9.2 update did not help me, an idea? Only the bigbox mode tells me an error message, launchbox.exe just displays nothing. An idea? Thank you in advance.
