Sorry for the late response.

I have the rom stored on an external sd card and when I click "proceed" the whole app crashes.

However, I was able to get a couple of systems to import, but most of the time it crashes.

Thanks guys, I'm currently looking deeper into this. I don't currently have any devices that I can replicate the crashes on, despite having 5 different devices lol. I'm gonna do some further testing to see what else is possible.

In my case I'm on Android 7. Yours worked on your G5? What version of Android is it on and does it matter?

Yes, I've tested a million times on my G5 and I've never seen it crash. However, my G5 is running Android 8.0.0. Maybe that's the clue...

Ive tried updating to 8 but no dice. This Sprint model is locked down and can't be rooted or else I'd try that. That has to be it of yours works.

Maybe. My tablet is on Android 7 though and it works perfectly fine as well. So if it is an issue with Android 7, the issue is specific to that device, sigh.

Truthfully though, it's clearly a software issue. So it makes sense that Sprint's version of Android on the LG G5 could very well have a bug that Verizon's version of Android on that same device may not. Regardless, somehow I have to figure out what the issue is and work around it some way or another. Android has been a real breath of fresh air. ;)

Last night I was able to import a couple games on a straight talk Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna on Android 6. The games didn't launch but it somehow got further than the G5 on 7.

Games not launching thing is probably just a configuration or emulator issue. I'd need to know the platform to help with that. But as far as I can tell, over 99% of users are not having these issues with the imports. But we just need to figure out what the difference is.

Oh absolutely. I didn't mess with retroarch so probably didn't have it configured properly. It did crash on the J3 at the end of importing some mame games but haven't had time to try again. The G5 is my main concern since it's the main device of emulation.

Everything being tied to Sprint on that phone is becoming a headache and I'd like to update but can't. I don't wanna waste your time on this specific phone so I returned it and will be buying a t mobile unlocked variant. I appreciate all the help you've put into this.

Hey all, version 0.31 of the Android app is out now, with some hopeful fixes for crashes on some devices. I still have not exactly been able to pinpoint any issues, but hopefully this version will improve things. Let me know. :)

I’m having the same issue as before.

Ugh, sorry to hear. I have reports from a few other users that 0.31 solved their problems, so we gotta figure out what would be different in your case.

What version of Android is it running?
